Hi, I'm trying to launch a continuously running python script from Codesys and monitor the script status inside the Codesys runtime (running on a Linux enviroment). For now I'm testing with the below to emulate a continuously running Python script: #test.py i = 0 while True: i += 1 I'm able to successfully run the script using SysProcessExecuteCommand2 (I can see the Python process running in the task manager). However, this "freezes" the Codesys execution of the task - it sits on that command and will not continue until the Python script ends. I've proven this works by using the task monitor to kill the process, then Codesys continues on happily through the task. What I want to do is use SysProcessCreate2 to set up the Python script as a background task and monitor the process using SysProcessGetState. This always results in the error "ERR_OPERATION_DENIED". I know that I'm able to execute commands (as above), so my config should be correct. Is SysProcessCreate2 functional on a Linux environment? Is there something in the config file I'm missing? Hello everyone, I have a very simple program for the process, but it's driving me crazy and I can't see the problems I'm left with: Short topological description: Dual Core Berghof controller with softmotion runtime version 3.5.19.30; Two axes with servodrive on canopen bus, clocked distributed from master; Ethercat I/O node; 2 ms ethercat task, 2 ms canopen bus cycle time; I/O objects of the canopen master and canopen drives connected to the ethercat task cycle; Problem 1: Two separate programs each manage their own axis and drive, with separate state machines. A first axis moves primarily in velocity, except having to position itself absolutely at a predetermined point at the end of the job; the second axis, on the other hand, is a paper unwinder that changes, for each job cycle, from actions in absolute, relative, and cam displacement with the master axis. But it gives me a spot problem: in some, the state change results in a drive error, which is unrecoverable except with a reinitialization via SM3_ReinitDrive(). Problem 2: During the use SM3_ReinitDrive() I get the erro in the log: "NetID 0: SDO read error for object 16#607C..." Assuming that the device involved it's one of the two servodrive, (no others device are present in the network), I don't found any object 0x607C in the 'possible object list in/out' of the two drive, and I don't understand where this object can be listed. So any ideas and suggestions regarding these two issues will be very, very welcome. If you need the source project, I am willing to send it.

Hello, We are trying to implement an automated method of adding of a certificate and private key to the Windows certificate store for encrypting CODESYS projects. We want to do this so that users do not have to deal with details of certificates at all and to prevent user error. We are keen on enforcing strong private key protection since it ensures that a password is required for the certificate to be used to decrypt a CODESYS project. When we add a certificate to the certificate store and enable strong key protection using the Microsoft Management Console Certificates snap-in, it works as expected. However, through this method the user may mistakenly not enable strong private key protection. For the certificates we create programmatically (using Microsoft’s Cryptography Next Generation API in .Net 7) bag attributes are added to the certificate and key by the API. These bag attributes are as follows: Bag Attributes localKeyID: 01 00 00 00 subject=C = xx, ST = xxx, O = xxx, OU = xxx, CN = xxx issuer=C = xx, ST = xxx, L = xxx, O = xxx, OU = xxx, CN = xxx -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- [encoded certificate] -----END CERTIFICATE----- After using this certificate with bag attributes to encrypt a CODESYS project, it can’t be decrypted, showing this error: "The specified project could not be loaded. Possible reasons might be: - The project file is corrupted or invalid - The project has been saved with a newer version of the programming system. If this is the case, you can open the project in the corresponding version. Choose "Save as..." with the appropriate storage version, and retry again. - You may not have the necessary permissions to lad the project" We know that the bag attributes are causing the issue because if we manually edit the certificate file to remove them before using the certificate to encrypt a project, the project can be decrypted as expected. However, we are unable to automatically enforce strong key protection using this method. Hi Everyone, For a fast monitoring system I am using Ethercat oversampling and timestamping inputs. As the customers has a lot of different configurations out in the field, we went for a dynamic Ethercat configuration. Already got the whole detection chain working but now I am stuck since two days in debugging the configuration. I double and triple checked the configuraton, but cannot find the issue. There seems to be one difference: the config dialog creates a startup parameter: 16#10F3:16#05, Name: Command_0, Value:0. Bitlen: 16, Stop on fault: false, jumpt at fault: false: next line: 0 a) I do not find information on how to set this in my code. Can you help me there? b) Without trying to set the value, I get a PLL error for these devices in the master log. Is the config wrong? c) Do I need to set the Master to Autoconfigure or Manual? I used autoconfigure for my tests. The stack creates input data addresses for the slaves input data range (pSlaves[i].InputData) which are different from those created when I use the Engineering tools dialogs to configure Ethercat. Specifically, the addresses seem to be aligned at 16 byte boundaries when they are created using the engineering tool, but may appear at uneven addresses when I use the script in dynamic config. I did not try to access ULINT at uneven addresses yet, but I am suspecting this may be a problem. Do I need to manually align the addresses ? Any help is appreciated...

Hi All, Recently I have been experiencing a issue in CodeSys SP16 Patch 3, with a exception which comes up after I have made several online changes. callcallback() iec exception caught cmpid=0x00000002, eventid=0x00010008, after I experience this fault then I receive a error message for any subsequent online change "online change failed, no task gap within 10000ms". To recover either the controller needs a orgin reset, which will allow online edits thereafter until falling back into the loop. I am using a TURCK TX707 product which is controlling robot trajectory, We have hard coded the coordinate data rather than using persistence variables so hence the need to do online changes consistently. I have read on the forum other people have experienced similar issue with the online task gap, but I have no task which have same priority and also monitored the CPU usage and have not seen it go above 13%. Anyones help would be much appreciated, thankyou.

After some more digging I realized that I get an error on the PLC Logger saying PersistenceChannel: 150 (invalid type in data: SimpleLibrary). I suppose the issue could be found in the ConfigData, which is automatically generated and which looks like this: 1 9##83 SimpleLibrary#GVL.aMoreZeros.[1]#0#64512#15#0 <[2]#0#64520#15#0 <[3]#0#64528#15#0 <[4]#0#64536#15#0 <#0#64544#15#0 <[6]#0#64552#15#0 <<lrVar#0#64560#15#0 <strVar#0#64428#16#80 <uiDummy#0#64370#11#0 Perhaps the fact that the variable is stored within a library confused the compiler? I tried changing the PersistenceChannel parameters to xCompressTags := FALSE which changed the entry in the data file from _xCompressTags BOOL:TRUE _xCompressTags BOOL:FALSE but the actual content of the data file and also the config data did not change.

I am currently working on a project using CODESYS and Control Win on a Windows computer. I've encountered an issue where I am unable to save a CSV file. I have followed the standard procedures and used the appropriate file handling functions, but the file is not being created or saved as expected. Hi guys. I've got a device that sends a status message over J1939 and a PLC running Codesys to receive it. This message uses a P2P PGN (as opposed to a broadcast PGN). Codesys can only read it if I mark the J1939_ECU as "Local" (see screenshot 1). The message is received correctly, that is not the problem. The problem is detecting if the message stops being received. Local ECUs have no Watchdog checkbox to detect if the message has been received in the last X seconds. In order to implement a watchdog, I've used a ReceiveWatchdog FB. The same code works well for any non-P2P message, but doesn't work for this particular P2P message I'm trying to monitor. Even if I physically disconnect the device, ReceiveWatchdog.xBusy stays True, and ReceiveWatchdog.xError never triggers due to a timeout error. Is there any caveat in the ReceiveWatchdog FB that makes it unable to monitor P2P PGNs in Local J1939_ECUs?

Hi everybody, I've been facing problems with the PDF visualization in Web Browser. I am trying to open a pdf file called 'sample.pdf' which I manually saved inside PlcLogic/visu folder. I am setting the web browser URL as: 'http://127.0.0.1:8080/sample.pdf' but I get 'refused connection'. I got a similar error trying to open https sites and I discovered that I can only open http websites. Opening 'http://de.wikipedia.org' everything works fine. I also tried to check using code whether the sample.pdf is present in the directory. Unfortunately, when I try to read directories of 'PlcLogic' I get file FILE_OPERATION_DENIED (I am using File.DirList). I would like to be able to open PDF files in web browser. Possibly to move new PDF files in the folder as my customer wants to display different pdf manuals on the hmi. Here you find some screenshots and my .project. I am using Codesys 3.5.19.70. Hello! I am new to codesys so I am sorry if this is not the right place to ask this question. I am using codesys V3.5 SP20 Patch 1 + (64-bit) and a Groov EPIC PLC (GRV-EPIC-PR2). I am trying to build and deploy my application to the PLC, but when I log in I get 6 errors (codesys_error.png). It seems that the errors have to do with the CmpDynamicText system library which I have as version 3.5.20.0. I have tried to add CmpDynamicText to the ComponentManager section in the PLC's CODESYSControl.cfg file as described in this forum post and still hit the same error. I noticed that the library is grayed out in the library manager, which I think might be the issue. However I don't remember if it was grayed out before I encountered this issue. Please let me know if I can provide anymore info. Thank you!!!

Objective: I want to dynamically update the content with strings and JPEG images received from a TCP/IP socket. For this purpose, I am exploring the possibility of utilizing the Web Browser feature of the Visualization toolbox. Example: In a standard web browser, entering data:text/plain;charset=utf-8;base64,SGVsbG8gc3RyYW5nZXI= in the URL window will display "Hello stranger" on the webpage. Issue: When attempting to use this method in the Web Browser of the Visualization toolbox, the content does not display as expected. Instead, it shows the error:'Navigation to the webpage was canceled.'. Request: I seek guidance on how to resolve this issue so that the Web Browser in the Visualization toolbox correctly interprets and displays the data URI content. Alternative Solution Welcomed: Or, if it is possible to directly use Codesys Structured Text (ST) variables within an HTML page, this approach would also meet my requirements. In general, drives have parameter sets to adjust behaviour in such cases: position recovery, adaptation with resistant torque, out-of-position window failure, etc. (Much depends on the type of configuration set for the axis: positioner, speed controller, torque controller, etc.). I have used that type of drive very little, in only two cases and a long time ago. To tell you what is normal is impossible. I know by reputation they are very simple objects, without too many pretensions and adjustments possible. Try running traces by monitoring actual position, motor current, torque and following error. These are the most sensible curves to understand what is going on. Maybe by fine tuning the motor tuning, the current controller or the speed controller you will get something closer to what you want. For example, from DS, the motor has a standstill torque of 3 Nm. Observe with traces whether this is effective: motor current trend. And afterwards, when you have your own accurate picture of the situation, you can also hear from the product's local support to see if you can steal a few more things from it performance-wise.

Hello all, I am using the OPC UA server with my custom information model. I have used the communication manager to add my information model under my application and created instances from OPC UA types. I see that the created instances in the OPC UA server has some opaque nodeid (attached screenshot) and I want to change that. Therefore I have the following questions: 1. Is there a way to configure the NodeIds of instances in the OPC UA server? I tried to edit it using the UaExpert client but got error "BadNotWriteable". is it possible to configure it somewhere so that the nodeids can be changed using an external client? 2. Is there a way to define the rule for creating instance nodeids within the codesys IDE? 3. Is it possible to create the instances before e.g. using a modelling tool like UaModeler and import them as part of the information model and use them later? Using the communication manager, I can only create instances from types. I couldn't find a way to map my existing instances to plc tags from my application. It would be nice if someone could help me with these issues. Thanks in advance. :)

Liebe Codesys-Gemeinde, ich habe folgendes Problem und bitte um Hilfe: Um eine auf meinem dem Raspberry Pi laufende Steuerung ohne große Mühe duplizieren zu können, habe ich mir ein Image der SD Karte mit Win32 Diskimager erstellt. Dieses konnte ich bisher ohne weitere Probleme auf eine weitere Micro-SD karte ausrollen. Anschließend habe ich mich via Putty auf den PI geschaltet, die vorherige Lizenz (die ja für den vorheringen PI zulässig war) gelöscht über - sudo su - rm -r /var/opt/codesys/cmact_licenses/ - reboot Um dann via Codesys 3.5 SP16 Patch 4 eine neue Lizenznummer ">>Tools>Lizenzmanager>Lizenz aktivieren" zu aktivieren und das wars. Durch die Umstellung des Lizensierungsverfahrens klappt diese Variante nun nicht mehr. Ich habe mir neue Lizenzen von Codesys gekauf, doch sobald ich diese in die Ticket-ID eintrage und aktivieren möchte bekomme ich folgende Fehlermeldung: ReturnCode: 403046401, An internal error has occured. Please try it again later. (siehe Bild im Anhang "Fehler_Codesys3.5V16.png") Ich habe dann meine Codesys-Version auf Version 3.5 SP20 geupdated und das selbe versucht mit dem Resultat, dass ich nun folgende Fehlermeldung erhalte: "Der ausgewählte Container "...." paßt nicht zu Ihrem Ticket. Bitte wählen Sie einen passenden aus." --> Siehe Bild im Anhang "Fehler_Codesys3.5V120.png" Was genau kann/muss ich tun, damit ich einfach wie bisher meine Steuerungen duplizieren kann? This is from 10 years ago, I know. But I have been using (SLAVE_DEVICE.iChannelIndex = CHANNEL_NUMBER) AND (SLAVE_DEVICE.xDone) I suppose that it shows xDone for the channel that shows up in the iChannelIndex at the same cycle? It seems to be working properly for two devices that I have been using it before But now I have another device and using two write channels, for one register each. One channel works properly and returns DONE flag When another channel is triggered, I see that it shows up in iChannelIndex, but flag DONE not received, but no Error for the channel. Also, when i check the register in the device it's evident that data has been transferred. Is this could happen sometimes with CODESYS, so DONE flag not received? Or this is a problem with a given device? With this certain register

Hi all, I am using an RSTI-EP I/O card along with the EPXMBE101 Modbus/TCP network adapter. I have a Control Standard L license. I successfully connected to the I/O card via Modbus and can read inputs without any issues. However, when I try to write to the digital output modules using function code 15, I am unable to make any changes. Here’s what I have done so far: I created a small project using Structured Text. I set up Modbus channels (as shown in the attached image) and mapped the pins. When I use cyclic mode, the connection results in an error. However, when I use the rising edge, the connection works, but I don’t see any changes on the I/O card. For the output module, I assigned one bit to high. After that, I ran CODESYS Control Win V3. (Should I be running the PLC as well?) I built the program, but I am not receiving any response from the I/O card. Could you please advise on what might be causing this issue?

Hi, I have problem with connecting Wago PLC WAGO 750-8212/0025-0002 configured as OPC UA client to Kepware OPC UA Server. I am using Codesys 3.5.19.70. What I did so far. To the Codesys project I added object Data Source Manager and configured connection OPC UA like below: pic 1 Then I can browse the OPC server tags in “Variables” tab after prior trust on the server side of the client certificate created in the “Communication” tab: pic 2 Additionally second certificate has been created in Codesys for runtime process in “Security screen” as well as the server certificate was approved here: pic 3 But when I compiled project, downloaded it to PLC and go to RUN I can’t read selected in “Variables” tab, OPC Server tags. I am getting such error (ID: 7001): pic 4 All two PLC certificates has been trusted in OPC server (Kepware) side: pic 5 and Kepware server configuration look like this: pic 6 I can easily connect using third party OPC UA client UaExpert to Kepware server without problem. Using Codesys 3.5.18.30 I am trying to work with an array of variable length in one dimension, but known in the other dimension. For example, using an array that represents a list of items, each with an attribute profile. I do not know how many items will be in the list, but I know that every item has 5 attributes, like size, weight, etc. Codesys does not seem to be able to accept this. I have referenced Data Type: ARRAY OF documentation page, which is not explicit if variable & fixed length array dimensions can be mixed. In the VAR_IN_OUT scope, I initially tried MY_ARRAY : ARRAY [*, *] OF REAL; which was no problem, of course. I then modified it to MY_ARRAY : ARRAY [*, 1..5] OF REAL; which throws C0006: ', or ]' expected instead of '..' among consequent downstream errors. I then used the Auto Declare -> Array Wizard, which accepted (asterisk)-(asterisk) and 1-5 for 2-dimensional lower and upper bounds. It output: MY_ARRAY: ARRAY[*..*, 1..6] OF INT; which throws the same error stream. What's the deal here? Is this possible?

Hi, okay here's the project, it's a modified version of "CNC Example 10: Programming Dynamic CNC Paths", no need for G Code text file (i have also tried with G code text file, same problem) in "PROGRAM PLC_PRG" you can set bStart to true, and the program should start running, go to "PROGRAM CNC" and you can see axis moving. lrXpos := IoConfig_Globals.XAixs.fSetPosition; lrYpos := IoConfig_Globals.YAxis.fSetPosition; Now you can can change the number of movements in the the "PROGRAM PLC_PRG" From this number of movements in "program PLC_PRG" BUF : ARRAY[0..32010] OF SMC_GEOINFO; xp : ARRAY[1..32000] OF REAL; yp : ARRAY[1..32000] OF REAL; to this number to this number of movements BUF : ARRAY[0..132010] OF SMC_GEOINFO; xp : ARRAY[1..132000] OF REAL; yp : ARRAY[1..132000] OF REAL; Now if you start the program again you should see an error in the "sMC_Interpolator: SM3_CNC.SMC_Interpolator;" function block Let me know if you can not get it running.

Hello everyone, I'm hoping for some assistance with a license activation issue: a software crash has left my license in a strange state. Here is the sequence of events: I purchased a new license for the Raspberry PI from the official CODESYS web store. I opened the CODESYS and started the online activation process using the ticket number I received. During the activation, the CODESYS software threw an exception and crashed. I was not able to see if the activation completed. After restarting CODESYS, I attempted to run the activation process again with the same ticket number. The License Manager now gives me an error stating that the ticket has already been activated/used. I am now stuck because my installation is not licensed, but the activation server believes my ticket has been consumed. Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a way to have the ticket status reset?

Hi, when it comes about license, I used INVTmatic Studio, which uses Codesys, for programming INVT plc. I bought Codesys Modbus license, it was not expensive, and then realised that INVT didn't have License Manager option (greyed out in program) which is needed for using of Codesys License. I contacted support from INVT, but developers told me that option is still not available. So depending on environment for programming Codesys, you can or not use Modbus license. Good thing about this version of Modbus TCP it works both direction. I could send commands and receive feedbacks from drive. But communication stops after 30 mins. So I used simple version of ethernet modbus which is somewhere in INVT or Condesys library (I can check tomorrow) which works only one way. I could send cmd to drive, and control it, but didn't have any feedback, like some readings back in PLC. which is bad, but at least I could start it and it didn't fail after 30 mins.
