Hey there! I am currently doing a little automation project for uni. I am trying to integrate a control-valve-system (Buerkert AirLINE Field) in my IO-Link environment. With IFM sensors, I used their pre-built function blocks, but with this third-party device, i need to write my own function block. Thankfully, IFM provides a generic sensor-fb so I can write my own FB with "extends" and "super". So far, so good. I found the IODD and some other documentation and I thought I get how it works, but somehow can't really get it to work at all. From my understanding, i need to write data into the PDO-Array. But i get confused with the indices and subindices of IO-Link. I'll append the IODD and some screenshots of my project. There is an AOI for LogicXDesigner, but I can't use that in Codesys. I hope someone has integrated a IOL-device in Codesys before and can help me with this. Cheers leafy

Hello, if you enter %t as a "Text" on a rectangle and do not link a variable in "Text variable", it automatically displays the system time. My question is, where do if find a variable, that contains exactly this time? I tried numerous variants using GetLocalDateTime or GetSysTime but I always have to manage timezones myself (which I do not want to do). I only want a variable with the date an time from my windows system, where the visualization is running. Where can I find this variable?

Hi, I followed your guidance and used go2rtc. There is a link generated from go2rtc I can copy into the web browser element in the visualisation. It somehow only appear within the software when it is running, but not on the webvisu. I want to display the camera feed onto the webvisu. My camera is reolink 810a which supports IP protocol. My project is pretty simple, just a web browser element with assigned URL.

Hello, I am struggling with Edge gateway to the automation server. It is not possible to establish the link. When I create the Edge in codesys and get it to Automation server, it is red, unable to connect. Scan fails. RPi 4B Runtime 4.13.0.0 Edge gateway 4.13.0.0 Codesys 3.5.2.40 Any idea what to chase? I have been using previous versions of edge gateway. Now I updated all to latest versions, failed. Frustrating.

INIT, OP, PREOP, etc.. ) I was trying to use the GetDeviceDiagnosisInfo method from the IoConfig_Globals, but there is no info available on the Web with a simple example; does someone have a link to some tutorial or anything else ? The generic sensor FB is for controlling the sensor via its cyclic input (PDI) and output (PDO). In this case, ifm raw cyclic input and output data are WORDs (16 bits total) The PDO data from the Buerkert unit are SINT (8 bits) In this case, I would use the unpackword fb from the CAA memory library to unpack the valve feed back value into the appropriate location.

This is a consequence of how computers store floating point numbers. 0.1 cannot be exactly represented in a computer. This is not a CoDeSys thing. Here is a link to a converter to show you the exact value that is represented when you use a REAL data type (which is a 32 bit float). https://baseconvert.com/ieee-754-floating-point If you really need to keep track of 0.1 increments. use INT OR DINT and then add 1 each time and assume that there is one decimal place.

Wir wollen eine Standardlösung einsetzen, sofern sie dann funktioniert, und sind da auf dieses CodesysObjekt gestoßen. Bisher haben wir da unsere Zweifel an der Implementierung oder der Dokumentation, so werden Bereichstypen bei ganzen Zahlen scheinbar auch nicht korrekt verarbeitet.

Hi I recently started learning Codesys SoftMotion. At first, I mainly used YouTube videos. I stopped at two videos where the same problem keeps recurring. fbReadPos( Axis := X_Axis, Enable := TRUE, Position => gAxes.lrActualPos); <- axis cannot move I checked the entire code line by line. Zero errors. GPT spits out nonsense, throwing up increasingly worse errors. And when I copy its code, it says the code is wrong and gets stuck in a loop of its own stupidity. The help link appears to be broken. When I implemented something similar I had to add {attribute 'reflection} above the declaration of the FB with {attribute 'instance-path'} above the string VAR that would contain the path. Then wrote a function to trim off however much I wanted removed by searching for periods, then formatting it with spaces at the periods and removing brackets on arrays while also breaking up the PascalCase to present it a bit nicer for the end-users.

Hello, I program a function for an Ethernet/IP controller. I made a structure with input and output corresponding with the map of my controller for the function block. My problem is that I don't know how to do the link between the controller and my PLC (CC 100 from Wago). The addresses declare in Codesys are illogic, The first addresses are 12 and 13 then 7 then 4. How to do corresponding the addresses of the controller and the input / output structure ? IP adress ? Does I must create the all variables of controller with the controller adresses to use with the function block ? Thanks for your help. (I hope I'm clear, I'm not english)

However, it should work because there are many examples available, although none of them were programmed using Codesys, but rather using Python. Hallo zusammen Ich möchte meinen Arduino und meinen PI miteinander kommunizieren lassen via I²C doch ich habe keine Ahnung wie das funktionieren soll. Aber es müsste funktionieren da es viele Beispiele dazu gibt jedoch wurde keines der Beispiele mit Codesys programmiert sondern über Python. Mein PI wird der Master sein und soll mit dem Slave (Arduino) Messdaten wie Geschwindigkeit und Akkukapazität und so weiter austauschen. Wenn mir bei meinen Problem jemand weiterhelfen könnte währe ich sehr Dankbar. Hier noch ein Link der Hilfreich sein könnte. I have a project where a single PLC shall control multiple nodes (up to 10 units?) with IO connected through profinet. Ideally each node should be identical however with time I see situations were different setups/configurations will be used. Codesys PLC (GVLs) |Profinet | |--PNIO-node-1--| | | AIO, | | DIO, | | CNT etc. | |--PNIO-node-2--| | | AIO, | | DIO, | | CNT etc. Ideally I think of a configuration through yaml/xml-files (the assignment/linking of the profinet nodes towards GVL-variables in the PLC as well as scaling, channel configration etc.). Would be grateful if someone could suggest library/-ies that can handle the following: - Verify what IO is connected to a device/node. - Hot-swap/assign link for IO towards GVLs, either automatically or through a HMI.
