Yes, it is possible to set breakpoints and use step into / step over (also in Ladder diagram). Yes, the PLC will actually stop, so be carefull with this. How a PLC works is that at the start of the execution of the Task, the Inputs are read, then the code is being executed and then the outputs are written. So if you set a breakpoint, you will not see your analog inputs changing, because the task cycle is interrupted and the inputs and outputs are not refreshed. The simplest way to do this would be to add a bus coupler dedicated to the expansion IO. The EtherCAT network does not fault when modules connected to the expander are not present. In the image below, nothing below the red line is present in the network - with the network working correctly. In your "base" project, simply include all of the possible modules, and then plug them in as you add pumps to the system. I would also highly recommend against the use of direct addressing. There are other methods to accomplish this, including using the "Optional" checkbox for modules and explicitly addressing them. Ok, this is how I made a numeric text field: use a Text Field properties -> Texts -> Text := %f (or %d or whatever you need) properties -> Text variables -> Text variable := (your numeric variable) properties -> Input configuration -> OnMouseDown -> Configure: Write Variable Input type := VisuDialogs.Numpad Use another variable (your numeric variable) Min val Max val etc. Please tell me there is an easier way to do this.

If you add any device to the CANOpen Manager it will send messages to verify the device is on the network. Do you have the Enable expert settings check box checked in the General tab? have you added any SDOs in the SDOs tab? I avoid using the CANOpen Manager and just use the CAN_Tx and CAN_Rx blocks from the library.

Hi All I was watching the Wago PFC300 webinar ( https://www.wago.com/global/lp-thank-you-onlineseminar-pfc-300 ), and the presenters comment about priority 1 being way above the Ethernet task priority, so that a priority 1 PLC program can actually loose SCADA connection, made me try to round up some hard evidence on Codesys Priorities. I find there is very little information on "correct" task priority configuration. Some controllers have separate MODBUS tasks, but doesn't seem like a big difference. How would you recommend splitting up communication, IO fieldbus and programs into differently prioritized tasks? I know its a complex matter and all about my application, but I really miss there was just some kind of guidance in the documentations and with all new standard Codesys programs having priority 1 as default, makes it seem less important, than it really is.

Hello everyone, I am running into a highly frustrating issue in the FBD editor regarding a Function Block with generic constants (VAR_GENERIC CONSTANT). I created a FB using ST, with a generic var, useful for having a variable sized array, as follows: FUNCTION_BLOCK Coil VAR_GENERIC CONSTANT maxEvents: USINT := 5; END_VAR VAR events: ARRAY[0..maxEvents-1] OF IEvent; END_VAR These FBs have also several methods. I declare them as follows in code: VAR coil1: CDL.Coil<(maxEvents:=1)>; END_VAR and when using them in ST, I have no problems. However, when trying to use them in FDB, I do not know how to do that, as some strange misalignment happens. Here's what happens: When I add the block to my FBD canvas and assign coil1 as the instance name, the compiler throws this error: 'coil1' is not an instance of 'CDL.Coil<(maxEvents:=1)>'. Same occurs when I try to instantiate blocks such as 'coil1.turnOn' or similar. Here is what I have already tried, none of which worked: - Deleting the <(maxEvents:=1)> parameter from the text inside the FBD box. - Deleting the block entirely, dropping an "Empty Box", and typing coil1 above it to let the IDE auto-complete and format the block. - Running a full "Clean All" and rebuilding the code. I am aware that I could bypass the graphical editor by calling it in Structured Text. However, I need to keep this logic compatible to FBD. Has anyone encountered this specific FBD parsing bug with generic variables? Thanks in advance for any insights. Best regards, Marco

What we are trying to explain is that, yes CODESYS creates the software, but Epis decides how they implement it on their hardware, which runtime version they use and they decide which functionality they support. So it is always a combination of the two. What CODESYS provides is a runtime with options for e.g. visualization or softmotion. Epis could add this softmotion license as default to their controller, but if they don't then CODESYS provides another option with a single license in a "Wibu CodeMeter" container. Eventhough the feature exists, Epis has to add this "CodeMeter" software on their controller to be able to access the licenses in the container. We don't know if they did this. Then finally it depends on what type of runtime is on this controller and which license Epis is using. So if they have an OEM license (not an application based license), then most likely you will need the Softmotion license (not a number of axis). I would like to enable the feature to automatically generate POUs for Project/Library properties in some of my library/project files. The Codesys help pages indicate it should be on the bottom of the Project Information Summary tab, but mine has no such options (see screenshot). Is there somewhere I have to enable this overall feature or any other prerequisite I am missing? I have a project called 'DemoProject' and a library called 'DemoLib'. Create a visual control named "DemoVisu" in the library, with a selection box of type "ComboBoxInteger" in the space. Now 'ComboBoxInteger' requires a 'Text list'. This "Text list" is provided when I call the "DemoVisu" control of the "DemoLib" library in "DemoProject". And this text list is in 'DemoProject'. I found that 'ComboBoxInteger' no longer works at this time. Other visual controls that use text lists also have this issue. I hope there is a good solution to this problem.

I am trying to show a PDF in a WebBrowser element. I have the file saved to the drive of the HMI/PLC. I am linking it in the URL parameter of the WebBrowser using the following directory link. 'http://localhost:8080/$$sdcard$$/FileName.pdf'. This allows for the program to download without any errors. When I navigate to that screen it is just a white box and nothing shows. I attempted putting the same link in the show parameter and I get a loading icon on my cursor when monitoring the HMI with my PC. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

There seems to have been included an updated in the last release 4.9.0.0 or am I wrong (I think I tried out these settings previously without giving the result I wanted contrary to what I see today)? Now an empty check box for "display variable name" is effective, and will present the Variable with the "Description" instead. Perfect! Seems to be some minor formatting still that needs adjustment. See attached screenshot. The apostrophe "'" between "description" I suppose should not be there? Also I guess the same apostrophe (although not visibly shown) gives an extra space between the variable-description and the ":"?? Thanks!
