Hey guys, I have a RasPi and can control my WS2812B (addressable light strip) via Python. The lightstrip is this one: https://core-electronics.com.au/1m-rgb-led-strip-ws2812b-144-per-meter-white-strip-weatherproof.html What I would like to do is to control it directly via CodeSys through the plc on my RasPi. I know I can run a python script on CodeSys, but I'd like to avoid doing that. Is it possible, and how do I do it? Is there a library that does this?

Hello, I am new to this forum so apologies if this is posted in the incorrect area. I am getting an error when trying to open the HTML5 Control Editor - this was working fine previous days. I am using Codesys V3.5 SP20 Patch 3. I have reinstalled the application. Below is a screenshot of what shows when I attempt to open HTML5 Control Editor. There seem to be problems with the latest version of raspberry pi os 64bit (I used the lite version). The codesys control runtime crashes after a few seconds. The same runtime works on the raspberry pi image from 2023-10-10 When starting the runtime from the commandline, i get the following error: ooops... this runtime was build for RASPBERRYPI. Hardware version or firmware version not supported! (and yes, I'm running this on a raspberry pi :-)

In your project you selected the "CODESYS Control Win V3" as device, but the device you want to connect to is a "CODESYS Control Win V3 x64". Those are not the same. If you double click on the device during the network scan, you will get information that these are not the same, but that you can change the type in your project to the x64 bit type. Another option is to "right-click" on the device in the device tree of your project and select "update device" then select the x64 type.

Hello, I am using an Inovance PLC to control a servo via EtherCAT. When I enable MC_POWER, the drive switches to Run mode successfully. After that I call MC_MoveRelative, but I get the error SMC_FB_WASNT_CALLED_DURING_MOTION. The servo vibrates but the motor shaft does not move. I am new to EtherCAT/servo motion control, so I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions for troubleshooting this issue. Thank you in advance for your help.

It is most likely related to the existing alarm log files in the Control Win. Depending on how you start up the Control Win, you can find the files in: C:\Users\<user name="">\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\<unique id="">\PlcLogic\alarms\ Or C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\<unique id="">\PlcLogic\alarms\</unique></unique></user> Delete the files in this folder, download your project again and start the application. PS, if you have an older version of CODESYS, the files are in: C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\<unique id="">\PlcLogic\alarms</unique>

I have just installed Codesys 3.5. sp19 and I have downloaded example with Ethernet Rockwell 1734AENT. Hello, I am trying to connect a Festo CMMT-AS-C4-3A-MP-S1 servo drive to a WAGO PFC200 (750-8210) using EtherCAT and CODESYS SoftMotion. Hardware PLC: WAGO PFC200 750-8210 Drive: Festo CMMT-AS-C4-3A-MP-S1 Communication: EtherCAT CODESYS version: Device description version 6.3.1.1 Drive firmware: 36.10.3 Current Status EtherCAT communication is working correctly: EtherCAT master = Running Drive detected and operational PDO input and output mapping is active Statusword, position and velocity are updating correctly Current PDO mapping: Outputs: 6040 Controlword -> %QW0 6060 Modes of operation -> %QB2 607A Target position -> %QD1 60FF Target velocity -> %QD3 Inputs: 6041 Statusword -> %IW2 6061 Modes of operation display -> %IB6 6064 Position actual value -> %ID2 606C Velocity actual value -> %ID3 SoftMotion Axis I added a SoftMotion CiA402 axis under the EtherCAT slave: Axis type: SM_Drive_GenericDSP402 Axis communication state: operational (100) No SoftMotion mapping errors anymore Problem MC_Power is executed with: Enable = TRUE bRegulatorOn = TRUE bDriveStart = TRUE but: Status = FALSE Busy = TRUE Error = FALSE ErrorID = SMC_NO_ERROR The axis remains in: SMC_AXIS_STATE.power_off DSP402 state = SWITCH_ON_DISABLED The most important observation: Statusword = 32784 (0x8010) Controlword (%QW0) remains 0 all the time SoftMotion never writes 6, 7, or 15 to the Controlword. Additional Information The axis status page reports: "The license is missing or invalid. The PLC runs in demo mode." I am not sure whether: The missing SoftMotion license prevents Controlword generation completely. The axis is still not correctly connected to the EtherCAT slave despite operational communication. There is an additional CiA402 configuration step required for the Festo CMMT-AS drive. Has anyone successfully used a Festo CMMT-AS MP drive with CODESYS SoftMotion Generic DSP402 on a WAGO PFC200? Any suggestions on what should be checked next would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have time to go through the whole manual but as I said earlier, the servo drive does not support any of the modes needed for SoftMotion Light to work. If you want to use the full SoftMotion, you could use SMC_Homing function block to do the homing. This function block does not use the Homing Mode. It still uses the CSP mode and does the logic in Codesys runtime instead of in the servo drive. Read the documentation about it to see if it fits your needs. But if your controller only supports SoftMotion Light, I am afraid you will not be able to use the i950. I do a lot of motion stuff with different servo brands. Some support all the modes needed for SoftMotion Light and some don't. You really need to make sure the modes are supported before choosing a brand over another. I tend not to use brand specific controllers in order not to be limited by their supported features. I usually choose a PC (Linux or Windows) and install the Codesys runtime and licences myself. This is the most flexible way to use Codesys in my opinion. Depending on how many axes are needed in your project, a full SoftMotion license may not be more expensive than SoftMotion Light because SoftMotion is available as Application based license whereas SoftMotion Light is not. But of course, SoftMotion is harder on the CPU than SoftMotion Light.

du startest so nur die SPS selber nicht die CODESYS Entwicklungsumgebung. Die kannst du entweder über den CODESYS Installer oder aber ueber das Startmenu starten. By the way, die SPS: Control Win 64 kannst du auch ueber den Tasktray unten starten ihne dieses Fenster.

Hello, I would like to have, if possible, some clarification on this function. That is, I would like to understand if it is useful for managing, fom my development PC, the RTE runtime executed on a remote control. This is what the help says: Remote PLC: Opens the Remote Configuration dialog. By enabling or disabling the Control remote PC, not local option, you determine whether a PLC is used that is on a remote or local PC. Accordingly, the menu commands Start PLC, Stop PLC, and PLC Configuration refer to the local PC or a PC reached on the network. For the remote PC, specify the Target PC address, Port number, and a Timeout value (in ms) for the connection (Remote Timeout [ms]).
