Post by snhatton on Can't open online view of FB instance from code editor, only from Device/POU windows CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Good morning, Yes, this is a known bug that has been reported. For now, the only workaround is to open the function block instances from the device tree. Regards, -Shawn

Post by timvh on Array of Program CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
You cannot create an array of Programs. Create a Function Block for this purpose instead of a program. You can create an array of FB instances and call each instance in a loop.

Hello I wouldn't call an FB from inside a FUN; it feels wrong to me. I have had something similar. Try declaring the FB instances as GlobaVars rather than the instance memory.

Hi, pretty late to the party, but did the "defining constants per FB instance" actually became a thing? @ingo

Hello, When I add 2 nics in vPLC this happens to me..., why is it? If I just put one of the two NICs, the vPLC runtime instance starts running correctly...

Thanks for the update, Since you can't double click is there another way to enter the FB when online and see the running code of that instance? When can we expect to see v1.0?

Post by jonasz on Discontinuity of A/B/C axis movement. CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, My problem was related to the behavior of the modulo axis, but maybe you will find something useful from what I write. The solution lies in path processing. Codesys offers a G-code analysis tool. Insert a CNC object into the project. The CNC settings object will be added automatically. By inserting appropriate processing modules into the CNC settings object and parameterizing them, you can test the behavior of the axis. When the effect is satisfactory, remember to add the module from CNC settings in the correct order in the processing path. Each CNC machine case is different. You need to spend some time to get your design tailored like an Armani suit. Good luck.

Post by micik on SysFileOpen not working CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I have the same problem. Some of the libraries I created over time depend on writing files to a folders like c:\Temp. I can confirm that proposed solution is not working with 3.5.20 Patch 2. Can you please specify wich exactly .cfg file needs to be modified and in what way, in order to include c:\Temp in the SysFile path? Thank you!

Post by daniel on SysFileOpen not working CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I have the same problem now with 3.5.20 Patch 3. Normally it works if I ad in CODESYSControl.cfg: [SysFile] ForceIecFilePath=0 (This told me codesys last time) I try to use the placeholders but without success. Something special is that the Files are not in C:. The Plc Configuration Path is not as usual C:\ProgrammData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlRTEV3\, it's E:\Control.

Post by cellohorst on File Creation Issue CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Nope! The file path is $$PlcLogic$$ and NOT $$PLCLogic$$. Otherwise a new folder ('PLCLogic') is created (at least with a linux rt - like raspberry or compute module) with the new file in it if you open the file with eFileMode := FILE.MODE.MRDWR. That is a bad bug that I'll report right after this comment.

Post by francescoc on Access to the path *** is denied CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I encountered similar problems, and it appears they were linked to certain add-ons. Resolving this issue turned out to be quite complex. However, we managed to find a solution by downgrading both the "CODESYS Communication" and "CODESYS Recipes" components via the CODESYS Installer, accessible under the "Tools" section.

Thank you for the response! It's a path I had already considered, however, while it has always worked for me on inputs, it doesn't on outputs, because if I enable the option to update all IOs at every scan, the IO tasks overwrite each other. However, I have found something very interesting which I am posting below.

I'd like to use same code/project in different devices. (RPi, PLC) I change some lines in some POU before compiling. (array size, file path, etc ) My question is How to define pragma that effects all ST-POU in project. Is it possible ? I've read this. https://help.codesys.com/api-content/2/codesys/3.5.12.0/en/_cds_pragma_conditional/

And still, I get thiss denied error. What could be the problem here? Attached is a screenshot with current implementation.

Post by mgengler on Recipe Manager - Not Creating Recipe Files CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Thanks for info... However, I changed the directory to: C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\58719825\PlcLogic\Recipes It still displays the content of this folder OK, however still will not write or read files. Is this the PLCLogic area you speak of? I also tried adding this path the the CodesysControl.cfg file. But still can't get it to work. Any additional direction would be appreciated!

Post by faceplant on Comparison via CLI is broken CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello! I am trying to compare 2 projects via the --compare CLI option. In the docs for the --compare option, it describes the usage as .\CODESYS.exe --compare "project path 1" "project path 2". I store my projects in WSL2 on my windows machine. Since CODESYS is happy to open those projects via a path like \\wsl.localhost\home\project.project. So, to compare, I use the command .\CODESYS.exe --compare "\\wsl.localhost\home\prog1.project" "\\wsl.localhost\home\prog2.project". This results in CODESYS just opening the project and starting, not comparing the two projects. No errors are thrown, and I know the paths are correct since I can open both independently in CODESYS, and I can compare them manually through the CODESYS UI. I have also tried moving my projects to the Windows 11 OS and still have the same issue. CODESYS opens the project and does not actually compare them. I am using CODESYS profile v3.5 sp20 patch 1. What is the correct way to compare 2 projects using the --compare CLI option?

Post by sbhaskarla on WebVisu File Transfer Error CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I’m encountering an issue when downloading CSV files via the WebVisu button input config -> file-transfer option: β€’ Custom directory: /plcdata/csv_logs/filename.csv o Error: Error 4 – Error during file transfer β€’ Sandbox directory: /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic/plcdata/csv_logs/filename.csv o Result: Download succeeds without error. Actions taken so far: 1. Added /plcdata/csv_logs to codesyscontrol.cfg (see attached). 2. Enabled file-transfer services in codesyscontrol_user.cfg (see attached). 3. Confirmed that the PLC writes CSV files correctly to /plcdata/csv_logs/. Despite these settings, WebVisu still returns Error when accessing the custom path 1. Using the placeholder file path '$$CSVLOGS$$/filename.csv' and it returns Error 6. 2. Using the literal path /plcdata/csv_logs/filename.csv and it returns Error 4 Could someone please help me determine what additional configuration or troubleshooting steps are required to serve files from /plcdata/csv_logs/? Please find screenshots attached for better understanding and I have also attached the config files

Post by pernockham on Is there a pragma for init/instantiation of local variables in FB (like in Methods) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Im using a pointer as input for a FB and for convenience I like to use 'referenced' variable internally. I use this setup in methods which works because internal variables are instantiated for each call. In a FB these variables are instantiated and initiated for the first call only. Is there a pragma/attribute available that changes this behaviour to mirror a 'method'-call?

Post by jerry-sorrells on Find Function: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Build: CODESYS 3.5 SP19 Patch 1 (64-bit) Host OS: Windows 10 Target: Linux SL I have a project with programs in Structured Text and Ladder Diagram. When I try to use the Find function, it works for the Active Editor; however, when I try to use Find for the Entire Project, I get the error "Object reference not set to the instance of an object." I know what this error means in the context of the program, but I have no idea why the find function is returning this error. The variable I am searching does not matter: it happens with all variables. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. I generally use the Find function quite often as I am developing and not having it is really slowing me down.

Post by struccc on Release SP20 - Changes in behaviour? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
This... is not very practical for me - as I have a bunch of different classes - it's just doesn't seems to be very practical to define a NULL for each of them... Something like this I use in parameter definitions. For example: VAR_INPUT refVFD_Drive : REFERENCE TO FB_VFD_Drive := GVL_DUMMY.Dummy_VFD; END_VAR I use this to prepare objects for code I don't control: Typycally visualizations - had many troubles with references set on the fly, right before opening a corresponding visualization... And yes, the instance in GVL_Dummy reports itself as "Fake", so it does not influence the actual application at all. Actually this way I could invalidate a reference, just to set it to a "Dummy" instance.

Is there a variable indicating that a gearing or camming operation is pending? For instance MC_Gearin has beeen triggered, but starting point of master axis to start the sychronisation movement is not reached yet, so the slave axis is just waiting for this. I should be able to differ between a pending and active gearing or camming

yes, sorry this is an accident in current Gateway Version. Either use 3.5.20.0 Version. (download from CODESYS Store standalone setup - https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-edge-gateway-for-windows.html ) or do it manually by: 1. stop Gateway: 2. Add in c:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\CODESYSGatewayV3\xxxxxxxx\Gateway.cfg [CmpEdgeGateway] MaintenanceMode=1 3. start Gateway again 4. add it to your CAS Instance

Post by timvh on FB string and naming CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Really not clear what you are trying to do, but isn't a Struct enough? So add an object of the type DUT to the Application. Then create a structure TYPE ST_Sensor : STRUCT sName : STRING; uiNumber : UINT; END_STRUCT END_TYPE Then in you application add an instance of this Structure stSensor1 : ST_Sensor := (sName := 'my sensor', uiNumber := 1); or use it like this stSensor1.sName := 'my sensor';
