I have a simulation function that toggle xSimActive. I map all IO variables to "IO GVLs" when xSimActive=0. I map IO corresponding SimIO GVL to "IO GVLs" when xSimActive=1. Then I write code for the simulation program that runs when xSimActive=1. Typically increase flow corresponding to pump speed, simulate tankfilling corresponding to flow and so on. I made a FC that require a correct code to activate simulation to avoid unintended activation by service dept. When comissioned remove any possibility to activate simulation. Super when officetesting and supporting service dept. + cheap as it requires no additional equipment, and it is easier to support customer later on in the life cycle as you can test proposed changes without setting up a testlab.

Hallo, seit einigen Tagen versuche ich erfolglos eine Ansteuerung der GPIOs des SK-AM64B Entwicklungsboards (Texas Instruments) über Codesys zu bewerkstelligen. Bei dem Versuch GPIOs anzusteuern, ohne die devdesc.xml bzw. den iodriver anzupassen, wird mir von Codesys die Fehlermeldung "Bus läuft nicht" (siehe Screenshot) angezeigt. Welche Vorgehensweise wird zur Konfiguration der IO empfohlen? Ist eine Anpassung der devdesc.xml und des IOdrivers notwendig? Wie wird am besten bei der Anpassung der genannten Dateien vorgegangen? Hello Folks, I have a quite basic understanding of how PLC programming works. However I keep getting stuck on 1 problem I could not get my head around. The problem is as follow: I have a PLC with 60 IO (20 inputs, 40 outputs). Each IO is defined as a function block. Furthermore I have an external IO card connected trough a CanBus connection. This IO card has 4 analog input channels (USINT), 4 digital inputs (Bool) and 4, digital outputs (Bool) Because I have 2 different components which both has data have I made 4 arrays to store the data off every component in one variable. PLC_Input: Array [1..20] of BOOL; PLC_Output: Array [1..40] of BOOL IOCard_Input: Array [1..8] of BOOL IOCard_Output: Array [1..4] of BOOL Because the control and reading of the different in and outputs is done by a TCP connection I want to use some kind of enumeration or struct to give each index a name so that my main would be a little bit more readable instead of all the magic numbers. Also this would make my program more dynamic for the furter in case I need to changes some in the IO nummers. For example: pump is placed on the fysical terminal strip number place 54, which is the 3th output of the IO card in the program: if I am sending a message with value 54 I would like to control IOCard_Output[3]. If there is a solution or methode to get this done, I can eventually do the following in my main program: IOCard_Output[Pump]. I have tried the following: IOCard_Output[Pump - 51] with an enumration but this keeps raising an error I hope some of you could help me further with this problem. In gross lines: I want to couple all the different IO to a more readable name and this readable name should control the right Array index Thanks in advance, George

I had a similar error "Invalid ERR Ack input". What you need to do is link an variable from the "non-safe" PLC to the Group IOs of the POU in the Safety app. * Add a POU to the SafetyApp (probably already done, otherwise you don't get this error) * Right click on this POU - select properties * Go to the Group IOs tab * Link a variable to the Err.Ackn. input I don't know about the Size of zero, I didn't get this error. Were you able to fix this?

I know, that is not the issue though. The issue is the HMI_Blower_Auto_PB variable not changing to false. I do not have the IO modules plugged in yet, that is why there are NaN values for those variables. That should not affect this.

I have a device CAADiagDeviceDefault: IoConfig_Globals.Axis_A In our library, we perform introspection of the Etc_SlaveDiag. In that case, we have connectors, and by searching for them by address, I can find them in the IO mapping using the offset and size provided by EtherCAT. However, a Lenze i700 drive, instead of placing the IO mapping in the Etc_SlaveDiag device, places it in a sub-device CAADiagDeviceDefault. So, when I perform introspection, I cannot find the IO correspondences. Yet, in the CAADiagDeviceDefault, I do not find the connectors and cannot do the matching. Is there a way with a pointer or reference to a CAADiagDeviceDefault to obtain the address of the first input and the address of the first output? This is because we have our own motion library with many EtherCAT devices that automatically configure the mappings, but I can't manage to do so with the Lenze i700.

IF you create an ENUM {attribute 'qualified_only'} {attribute 'strict'} TYPE E_IO : ( FIRST := 0, SECOND := 1 ); END_TYPE You should be able to access the array items like: IOCard_OUTPUT[E_IO.FIRST]

Hi, I guess you don't have the right xml file. Download Beckhoff_EtherCAT_BKxxx_MDP.zip from https://download.beckhoff.com/download/configuration-files/io/ethercat/xml-device-description and install these in Device Repository.
