Maybe shared memory is an opinion for you to give it a try: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_cds_shared_memory_communication.html

Post by timvh on library is not available CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
1) In the library manager of your project select "Download missing libraries". 2) In the library manager open the "Placeholders" dialog. In here find the Placeholder which is not referenced to a specific library yet. Click in this line on the Library column and select the latest version of this library.

Any way I can read the value of the 'request counter' (see screenshot) in my application. Amount of client connections is easily found using ModbusTCP_Slave_Device.uiClientConnections; But for request counter it does not seem to be that simple.

Post by timvh on Having trouble using the Web Client SL library CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
it should be something like: fbWebClient : WEB_CLIENT.WebClient; You need to use the "Namespace" of the library, not the name of the library itself.

Post by jackbrady on Function Blocks and arrays of function blocks CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I am new to Codesys and PLC programming in general (please go easy ha!) I'm not looking for code to be written for me just some help and pointing in the right direction. I am writing some code to send commands to a relay based on input values (to put it simply). Quite basic stuff. I have wrote a function block that takes a global variable (Open_command:BOOL) and outputs to another global variable (Opened : BOOL). The function block is simulating a device so I'll eventually get the globals from that. I now need to create multiple versions of this function block/ device (lets say 100) but I need each iteration of that function block to reference it's own relevant global variable. I think that the best way of doing this would be to use arrays, although I could be wrong. I am aware that for up to 100 instances I could very well manually assign everything but that seems rather time consuming and I want a fancier way of doing it. Here is a very basic example of what I am looking to do, please note I have not written this in proper code it's just to show what I mean. Global Variables V[0-100] int Open_command [0-100] Bool Opened [0-100] Bool Function Block var input x : BOOL Var output y : BOOL if x then y = TRUE ELSE y = FALSE The input to my function block will be Open_command, output will be Opened Example code. If V[x] > 10 then Open_command [x] = TRUE ELSE Open_command [x] = FALSE (So when V1 goes above 10 I need Open_command1 = TRUE therefore initiating FB1 output. V2 > 10, open_command2 = True > FB2 output V3 > 10, open_command3 = True > FB3 output ... ... ) What I can't seem to figure out is how to tie all this together, I have read through the codesys documentation and if anything it has confused me more! ha. Apologies for the poorly written post but hopefully you understand what I am trying to get at. Thanks, Jack

Post by trusty-squire on Codesys for raspberry pi 5 not working exactly CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Not sure if you've resolved this yet, but the Codesys runtime user/password is different than the Linux user/password. You'll need the Linux user credentials when you log in over SSH (for example, to install the Codesys runtime). When you first log in to Codesys on the RaspPi you'll set up a Codesys user and password. If you lost those credentials, you could try uninstalling and then re-installing the Codesys runtime on the RaspPi so you can setup a new user/password.

Post by patliby on Cannot Find "Automatically Generate POUs" Option CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I would like to enable the feature to automatically generate POUs for Project/Library properties in some of my library/project files. The Codesys help pages indicate it should be on the bottom of the Project Information Summary tab, but mine has no such options (see screenshot). Is there somewhere I have to enable this overall feature or any other prerequisite I am missing? I am using Codesys 3.5.19.20 Reference https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_obj_project_information.html#UUID-9ddc3572-a024-5a49-c0c1-31677991a419_id_c95bfe46c6c18a67c0a8640e01715107_id_0a188ec6fa561b9fc0a8640e0019d8bf

Post by jschu on Dynamical scaling of bar graph without the bar itself CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi there, Task: dynamical changing the scaling of an bar graph, linear scaling whitout showing the bar only the scaling values and Lines for Main and partial steps. Define 4 Limits for Hi and LO Values with different colors Option 1 : use the bar graph whitout showing the actual bar whitout showing the bar, only the scaling values and lines for main and partial steps. Then what to do with the 4 Limits ? I could use 4 moveable Rectangles with the start and end value fo the areas but then the whoel bargraph must be transparent. Best way would be if only the scale ist possible to show as it is possible for the Meter 180Β° but this option does not exist for the bargraph. Option 2 : user defined HMTL5 Widgets wich may be some allreay has created or where is a dome for using this kind of html5 widget. The expanse for use html is in my eyes to big and gives more option for errors. Have some one experience in this topic or a hint how to do it the easiest way? Thanks for your help.

Post by levih on DocScripting CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello I'm trying to use the DocScripting collection in Codesys. I've made it work on one PC(1) for the 3.5.16.4 version of the script collection. But when I try the same setup on another PC(2), I get an error message: Error loading Python DLL: D:\SCRIPTING\3.5.16.40\python27.dll (error code 14001) My setup on both PC's is thus: 1. Downloaded and installed Python 2. Copied the folder with the scripting collection to C: (because of admin rights) 3. Placed my .library file in the same folder as the scripting collection Only difference is that Python is v3.12.0 on PC1 and v3.12.1 on PC2. I thought maybe it was something with Python, but then I have tried using the scripting collection from 3.5.16.1, and that seems to work. Just not for scripting collection 3.5.16.4. I also can't seem to find any scripting collections on newer versions of Codesys? (e.g. 3.5.19.10) Thanks in advance!

Post by runtimevictor on codesys VLAN tagging CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, In Codesys I can't find where to configure Ethercat Master VLAN tagging? In Beckhoff in Infosys there is an attached image so you can see it... I would like to try ethercat master with VLAN, to try to have several ethercat masters on a single ethernet port... I imagine that managed VLAN switches are also necessary? Thanks.

I have found a similar topic but tried to run it in C3.5.16 and the visualization crashed. https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/8be0f6f14a/ My question is what is the easiest way to run a dialog from ST, as we need an external device to open the dialog so we cannot use the button on the display itself.

Post by ofey on Testing of Codesys program CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi! I thought to hear what you guys think is the best way to test the program in my scenario. I have some PLC programs that have been made and deployed on different PLC's. The program has added the specific devices and IO that is applicable. I have made a test environment for everything outside of the PLC, ie. the same SCADA system that is talking to the PLC, and a program running locally is simulating the plant (level regulation of different tanks). Pr. now I have had to manually change the variables that are reading/writing values from the IO so they read/write via OPC instead. I also have to change the device tree from the specific PLC rack, to the soft PLC. So I kind of end up with two different programs that I have to maintain. I was just wondering if you believe there is an easier way to do this. So I can have the exactly same program and kind of switch between the soft mode, and the "real" mode.
