Hi everyone; I'm building a project in which the drag of the mouse over some controls (or the click event) changes the background color of the control items; this change of color is made with an FB that assignes a color code to the background with MUX command based on the value of an enumerator, this part is perfectly working but, when I'm using a touchpanel instead of a web visu (controlled by a mouse) I get into some issues as it seems that the touch operations are not triggering the MouseEnter and MouseLeave properties as it's done with the mouse.... For this reason I'm trying to add a TON to my FB and, if the enum that changes color remains at the same state for more then 3s I'm automatically resetting it to it's "0" so the item gets back the not selected color. Anyhow it looks like the TON function from library is not working in these FB that are instanced in the various visualizations, as instead they do if I create some instances within the POUS. Anyone has ideas of how to make them work?

Setup: Net Base Services (NBS), TCP_Client + TLSContext, ePurpose := CLIENT_SIDE, connecting to a third-party embedded device (Velux KLF200 home automation gateway) whose factory-installed TLS certificate expired on 2026-07-12 and has no user-facing renewal path. Tested on both CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL (3.5.19.0) and CODESYS Control Win V3 x64, with identical results on both. Goal: Accept the peer's expired certificate via a custom ICertificateVerifier implementation, since the certificate itself can never be replaced. Implementation: FUNCTION_BLOCK FB_MyCertVerifier IMPLEMENTS NBS.ICertificateVerifier VAR udiCallCount : UDINT; aeCurStateLog : ARRAY[0..9] OF NBS.RTS_IEC_RESULT; END_VAR METHOD VerifyCertificate : UDINT VAR_INPUT hCert : NBS.RTS_IEC_HANDLE; eCurState : NBS.RTS_IEC_RESULT; END_VAR IF udiCallCount < 10 THEN aeCurStateLog[udiCallCount] := eCurState; END_IF udiCallCount := udiCallCount + 1; VerifyCertificate := 0; // also tried: VerifyCertificate := eCurState; Wired in via tlsContext.itfCertVerifer := certVerifier at declaration time, alongside itfTLSContext := tlsContext set at TCP_Client's own declaration (per an earlier forum thread here on ensuring inline start-values on FB-typed variables are actually honored when nested one level deep - that fix was needed and worked correctly for getting the handshake to start at all). Observed: - VerifyCertificate is confirmed called exactly once per connection attempt (via the call counter above). - eCurState passed in = 0x709 = ERR_CERT_HAS_EXPIRED - correctly reflecting the actual state of the peer's certificate. - Packet capture confirms the full TLS 1.2 handshake completes correctly at the wire level: ClientHello -> ServerHello -> Certificate -> ServerKeyExchange -> ServerHelloDone -> our ClientKeyExchange/ChangeCipherSpec/Finished -> server's ChangeCipherSpec/Finished. Both sides successfully complete the cryptographic handshake. - Despite this, TCP_Client.Upgrade() subsequently returns NBS.ERROR.CONNECTION_ERROR, and the connection is torn down with a plain TCP FIN (not a TLS alert) roughly 7-8ms after our side ACKs the server's Finished message. - TCP_Client.eErrorID (inherited from LCon) remains NO_ERROR throughout - the failure is only visible via Upgrade()'s return value. - Returning 0 (ERR_OK/ERR_CERT_OK - confirmed via the CmpErrors2 Interfaces documentation that these are literally the same value) makes no difference. - Echoing eCurState back unchanged (on the theory that this callback might work like mbedTLS's native verify callback, where the incoming state is a flags value to be cleared/modified and returned, rather than paired with a separate fixed "accept" sentinel) also makes no difference. - Identical result across udiVerificationMode := 0, 1, and 2. - Importing the peer's certificate into the runtime's trusted certificate store via cert-import trusted makes no difference either. - With itfCertVerifer left at its default (no custom verifier) and udiVerificationMode := 2, the underlying engine sends its own fatal TLS alert (handshake_failure) immediately after receiving the peer's Certificate message - suggesting built-in validation may reject at the record layer independent of whether a custom verifier is even present. Questions: 1. Is there an additional step required for a custom ICertificateVerifier to actually override an ERR_CERT_HAS_EXPIRED (or more generally, any ERR_CERT_*) rejection, or is certificate validation enforced unconditionally for a CLIENT_SIDE TLSContext regardless of what the verifier returns? 2. Is 0/ERR_OK genuinely the correct "accept" return value for VerifyCertificate, or does it expect something else (a specific bit pattern, a different constant, a value that must be computed from hCert itself)? 3. Is there a supported way to connect to a peer presenting a certificate that is both self-signed and expired, short of the peer issuing a new certificate? Happy to share the full packet captures or additional test combinations if useful. Also worth noting for anyone finding this thread later: a maintained Node-RED library for this same device (node-red-contrib-velux-klf200, forked to handle this exact expired-certificate situation) solves it by disabling built-in TLS validation entirely (rejectUnauthorized: false) and doing fingerprint-based pinning by hand after the handshake completes, rather than relying on a validation callback - which may be the more realistic approach here too if ICertificateVerifier genuinely can't override this class of rejection. Thanks in advance /Jørgen Disclosure: most of the CODESYS code and this investigation was developed with the help of Claude (Anthropic's AI assistant) - the state machine design, SLIP/checksum implementation, and debugging methodology (including the packet capture analysis) were worked through in an extended back-and-forth with it. Posting here because we've run out of self-serviceable options and this now looks like it needs input from someone with visibility into NBS's actual implementation.

I managed to find a solution that seems to work reliably. As the VU.Globals.CurrentClient-filter accesses the CURRENTCLIENTID or at least a similar, internal variable it can only be used if called from a certain client (e.g. from a button in a visualization). My solution works by implementing a new client filter that compares the client ID of all clients to the ID of the last client that was used. Hello, I'm using Codesys V3.5 SP18 Patch 4. In the ElementCollectionExample Project from Codesys, I test the SimpleQueueExample in a Control Win V3 x64 environment. I try to add a string of 95 characters length to a queue. The default length of strings is defined as 80 characters. In the initialization of a string variable, it is possible to increase the length by the definition of e.g. STRING(1000). But when I write the string defined like this to the queue, only 80 characters are written to it and the rest is missing. I think the default length is still set in the queue definition, so it is necessary to change this, isn't it? Is there any option to increase the default length of strings in the queue? We are experiencing serious jitter issues on an ARM64 imx8. Until now, on rpi and beaglebone derivatives, and on Intel, we never encountered jitter issues unless they were already present on the device. In this case, as can be seen from the attached graph, we have excellent maximum latency. The cyclictest on the isolated core dedicated to IEC CODESYS tasks shows a latency of 37µs, with an average of 14µs. Usually, on all other devices, with an RT kernel, with the appropriate parameters to avoid frequency throttling, with properly managed IRQs, and with the disabling of large page sizes, the jitter measured by CODESYS is very close to the cyclictest latency. However, on this imx8, we are noticing a fluctuating value of +/- 300µs that seems to be added to this latency, as if something occasionally miscalculates the sleep times by exactly +/- 300µs. Hi! I thought to hear what you guys think is the best way to test the program in my scenario. I have some PLC programs that have been made and deployed on different PLC's. The program has added the specific devices and IO that is applicable. I have made a test environment for everything outside of the PLC, ie. the same SCADA system that is talking to the PLC, and a program running locally is simulating the plant (level regulation of different tanks). Pr. now I have had to manually change the variables that are reading/writing values from the IO so they read/write via OPC instead. I also have to change the device tree from the specific PLC rack, to the soft PLC. So I kind of end up with two different programs that I have to maintain. I was just wondering if you believe there is an easier way to do this. So I can have the exactly same program and kind of switch between the soft mode, and the "real" mode.

In general, drives have parameter sets to adjust behaviour in such cases: position recovery, adaptation with resistant torque, out-of-position window failure, etc. (Much depends on the type of configuration set for the axis: positioner, speed controller, torque controller, etc.). I have used that type of drive very little, in only two cases and a long time ago. To tell you what is normal is impossible. I know by reputation they are very simple objects, without too many pretensions and adjustments possible. Try running traces by monitoring actual position, motor current, torque and following error. These are the most sensible curves to understand what is going on. Maybe by fine tuning the motor tuning, the current controller or the speed controller you will get something closer to what you want. For example, from DS, the motor has a standstill torque of 3 Nm. Observe with traces whether this is effective: motor current trend. And afterwards, when you have your own accurate picture of the situation, you can also hear from the product's local support to see if you can steal a few more things from it performance-wise.

My topic is more of academic nature, I would like to implement an XOR-operation with four inputs on my own (without the predefined XOR-operator) in a function block diagram (FBD). I have two proposals. One works fine and the other one is just an idea, but I do not know, if it is possible to code it in CODESYS V3.5 SP18 in form of a FBD. Here the one that works: And here an idea, which I have not managed to code it as an FBD: Any ideas? Is the 2nd diagram a correct interpretation of the coding task? And is there a way to implement it in form of an FBD in CODESYS V3.5 SP18? Followup (08-Nov-2024): Also in the current version of CODESYS (V3.5SP20Patch3) I have not managed to connect the existing blocks. In the alternative SPS-IDE PLCnext Engineer it is possible.

Good afternoon. I want to communicate with a Domino Industrial Printer using its Codenet protocol. The printer wants a series of Hexadecimal characters with no spaces or '00' characters. Because of that i chose the option to make the prefix and subfix for my code in a string. I have variable data in another string. With a complete program of a lot of CONCAT functions i eventually get the format of code that the printer accepts ( tested it with the hercules tool). Hercules String : 1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04 The problem is : Codesys adds automatically 'code' to the code to show it is a string. Codesys string : '1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04' The printer does not understand this. My idea is to convert the string datatype to an LWORD. I have no idea how to do this. I random types in STRING_TO_DWORD, as return i get 0. That didn't worked. Also on internet the explenations around string converting in codesys are very limited. If there in anyone who can explain me how to do it, i would appreciate it a lot ! Thank you!

To bridge IP to the Virtual unit (solved), I overthought things initially. Solution. Configure manually a bridge in the mint-"network connections". Use that bridge in the Qemu settings as "Bridge device", "Device name": "name of the configured bridge" Figure out where to store the projects. I started out have the data in linux world (sort of) and linking it the windows with "virtio-fs". That had some serious impact though on git-handling. It seems that virtio-fs interpreted any file-path as lowercase only even if there were uppercase, resulting in git not able to sync files between its repository and the source code (it created a new file-path for me with only lowercase). Then I switch to samba-share instead and this works much better, though (git-actions) is a part that still has low performance with lots of waiting for file-actions. What should be the best way of handling the source/git? Edit to answer myself: Save the project "locally" in windows, then a lot of slow performance is avoided. Then a git-remote sync for backup.

I have a main PLC with my CODESYS project on, including Web Visu. I also have a second device used for pump monitoring, all of this is displayed on a seperate HMI. I am looking at displaying the pump monitoring HMI on WebVisu so that I can solely use 1 HMI rather than having two. I can project the pump monitoring HMI into Chrome, and log in and it works fine. When I'm using the Web Browser element in Web Visu, enter my URL (device IP) it shows me the web page, but doesn't show me all of it. It uses parts of JavaScript for the login authenticiation and various other widgets. Similarly, I cannot get Youtube or Google to display on WebVisu either (possibily because of the same reason). Does anybody have any tips on how I can display the likes of Youtube or Google onto WebVisu so I can view it on my 7inch HMI (I suspect that if I can get Youtube or Google to work, then I will also be able to get my pump montitoring web page to work too).

Colleagues, i have the same problems. At the current time, I have to use the new version of the Codesys (3.5.20.10) + Control for Linux SL 4.11.0.0, but it works unstable : theree are a lot of freezes and not-respondings. I tested this on different projects: those that were created in the current version of the project, and those that were migrated from other versions of the development environment. Compiling a project without connecting to a controller is fast enough. The first downloading of the code into the controller, too. But as soon as you need to make edits and download a new code problems begin. Codesys "freezes" at the "Generation code" stage for 15-20 minutes. And only after that time loads the code into the controller. Previously, we used version 3.5.17.60 + Control for Linux SL 4.7.0.0. The process took 1-2 minutes. Do you have any ideas how can i fix it? I will be grateful for your answers.

Hello I am using an OpusA3 with version 3.5 SP17 Patch 3 as part of a project. I had no real problem before I encountered a problem that blocked me. The detection of the OpusA3 from Codesys is done correctly. The gateway is well configured and if I ping the gateway or the OpusA3 I receive the response correctly. The problem is that when I try to connect, the Opus screen freezes and a few moments later Codesys displays an error message ("connection to device closed"). I tried to change PC, to update the runtime, to change OpusA3 but the problem remains the same. I'm a little lost knowing that before it worked without problem. I went back to a previous version of the project (where it worked correctly) but the message still appears. Do you have any clues to solve the problem? Sincerely,
