Hello, I am trying to create an Ethernet/IP device that can read analog signals, do some basic logic on it and then hand communicate the results to an Ethernet/IP master. I am using the Raspberry Pi to experiment with this as I would ultimately like to drive a display as well. I have loaded up the runtime on the Pi and got the digital I/O working. I have an ADS1115 ADC to I2C board and I can't get it to work, I get a message telling me the i2c master is not running and I am not sure where to start with this. Is there a manual for running CODESYS on the Pi or something like that I am missing? I found this post and opening the project in CODESYS V3.5 SP21 it seems like tons of this wouldn't convert properly https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/f1400b71b6/ I have added in the library and device manually and copied the structured text program but lost at what to do if the core functionality of the master is not running. I appreciate any help, thanks.

I have a device CAADiagDeviceDefault: IoConfig_Globals.Axis_A In our library, we perform introspection of the Etc_SlaveDiag. In that case, we have connectors, and by searching for them by address, I can find them in the IO mapping using the offset and size provided by EtherCAT. However, a Lenze i700 drive, instead of placing the IO mapping in the Etc_SlaveDiag device, places it in a sub-device CAADiagDeviceDefault. So, when I perform introspection, I cannot find the IO correspondences. Yet, in the CAADiagDeviceDefault, I do not find the connectors and cannot do the matching. Is there a way with a pointer or reference to a CAADiagDeviceDefault to obtain the address of the first input and the address of the first output? This is because we have our own motion library with many EtherCAT devices that automatically configure the mappings, but I can't manage to do so with the Lenze i700.

Hi, I want to use two OneWireMaster on a Raspberry Pi5. I'm running Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi 64SL V 4.15.0.0. Under Linux I've configured two GPIOs for 1w bus usage on GPIO4 and GPIO27. Under Linux both masters seem to work fine and I can readout both sensors connected to both GPIOs. The two masters are 'w1_bus_master1' and 'w1_bus_master2'. I am attempting to place a block and make it an Analog sensor. When I go to change the name like in the instructional video on youtube it does not give me an option to autofill the block with a known configuration. This is a problem I have in Codesys 2.5 and 3.5. Did I mess up the install of the program or need to install a library? I have a project with several buttons and dialogs. Most of the dialogs are opened using the Open Dialog action of the Input configuration of the buttons. Some dialogs are openend using the FbOpenDialogExtended FB of the Visu Utils library and the FbOpenDialogExtended FB is called in the Execute ST-Code action. I am also using the FileOpenSave dialog from Visu Dialogs which requires an OnDialogClosed action to read out. I realized that the OnDialogClosed action which is meant for the FileOpenSave dialog also triggers if a dialog is closed, which was previously openend using the FbOpenDialogExtended FB. Is there a way to detect which dialog was closed last and specify to which dialogs the OnDialogClosed action reacts?

Hello, by searching the forum, I have found an example of batch script that can be used to start codesys projct by temporarily setting env variables. However, I'm not sure how to modify this to start Codesys 3.5.20 and whether or not I need to specify "profile" with Codesys version at all. @echo off SET PROJECT=D:\TestScripts\Data\OnlineTest.project SET VARIABLES=POU.testint,POU.testoutput start /wait CoDeSys.exe --profile="CoDeSys V3.4 SP3" --noUI --runscript="D:\TestScripts\Forum_Environment.py" I have tried the following just to open the test project: SET PROJECT=C:\TEST\Example.project start CODESYS.exe --profile="CODESYS V3.5 SP20 Patch 2" But I'm not sure how to specify this project to be open after py script is executed. The py script should first add required library to the project and then project should be open.

Dear people, I would like to create a TCP server in my PLC program. The TCP server needs to communicate with an external device. I have been searching the internet and found that the libraries Syssocket or CAA NetBaseSrv are two possible solutions to create a TCP server. From what I have read, CAA NetBaseSrv is more user-friendly to implement than the Syssocket variant. However, I am still struggling to actually implement this library. Foremost is my little knowledge about creating a TCP server and how to read/understand each function block, especially the outputs of some blocks and the types, e.g. server has an output CAA.Handle, but I cannot find the explanation of CAA.Handle. I tried to find a good document that can help me understand how to implement a TCP server, but I could not find it. Thank you in advance, George

Hi all, I'm looking to adjust the visualization of the FileOpenSave dialog. Is there a library or visualization file associated with this dialog that can be extracted, customized, and re-imported into the project β similar to how the user management dialogs can be handled? Alternatively, is there a supported way to replace or override the default dialog with a custom one? Also, is it possible to configure the FileOpenSave dialog to use a custom keypad for text input? The rest of the project uses a custom keypad due to readability concerns (the default one is too small), and this inconsistency is now quite noticeable. Any guidance or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! @thk @eschwellinger @sheberle

Hi, I am looking for a good way to update a decice remotely. The devices are distributed worldwide and have normally no connection to the internet. The CODESYS Automation Server can't help here. So I want to update the decices via USB stick. I have written my own code* to update the files that are created with βCreate boot applicationβ. But sometimes strange things happen: visu elements are present, but are not found the application is no longer registered and therefore no longer starts I have not yet found out why these errors occur. Has anyone had similar problems or found a better way? Is there perhaps a CODESYS library or something else? Many thanks! *the code deletes the directories on the device and copies the new directories from the USB stick while the system is running (goes without saying)

This depends on what you want to achieve with installing the latest version and how you manage your projects and repositories. Maybe you also want to update your device (right click on it to update) or maybe your device is depending on certain versions of libraries (go to the library manager in your project and download the missing libraries). An option is also to first create a projectarchive of the current project you have before you install a new version of CODESYS. Then you can open this projectarchive in the new CODESYS version. Especially if you install the latest version of CODESYS in a Sandbox.

Dear all, I am developing a Web Socket Client in Codesys 3.5 using the Web Socket Client SL library to retrieve data from a third party. Connecting and reading works fine however after 40 seconds the connection gets interrupted by the server due to keepalive ping timeout. After discussion with third party it seems that the Web Socket Client SL library replys to the Ping request of the Web Socket server BUT does not add the "Application data" = 4 bytes in the body of the Pingframe to the Pongframe. Therefor the server does not recognize the Pongframe send by the Web Socket Client SL library and automatically disconnects. Is this a known issue with the libary or am I doing something wrong? Is there a workaround to add the 4 bytes manually to the Pongframe before replying it to the server? Thanks in advance, Roy

HARDWARE: 2Γ HP EliteDesk 800 G9 SFF Intel Core i7-14700 (20 cores) 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 NIC1: Built-in Intel GbE NIC2: Intel I210-T1 PCIe (NIC team) SOFTWARE: CODESYS Control Win V3 - x64 Version 3.5.22.10 CODESYS SoftRedundancy SL Server 1 IP: 172.10.10.101 (PLC1 β Active) Server 2 IP: 172.10.10.102 (PLC2 β Standby) CURRENT CODESYSControl.cfg: [CmpRedundancy] BootupWaitTime=120000 StandbyWaitTime=12100 SynchronousTimeout=12100 [CmpSchedule] ProcessorLoad.Maximum=80 WatchdogTime=12000 WatchdogTimeoutAction=0 CONFIRMED WORKING: PLC1/PLC2 identification configured via IDE Connection IP configured via IDE AutoSync enabled and written via IDE Normal Active/Standby operation working Server 2 auto-promotes when Server 1 completely fails PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When NIC1 cable is removed from Server 1 β both servers go to standalone mode. When NIC1 cable is reconnected β both servers remain in standalone indefinitely. Neither server auto-recovers to Active/Standby without manual CODESYS service restart. AutoSync fires (!!! Autosync !!! visible in log) but recovery does not complete. Tested with direct cable (no NIC team) β same result. Confirmed not a hardware or NIC teaming issue. KEY LOG MESSAGES: "Timeout: No sync message RMSG_StartCycle (5) from master: Standalone" "Socket on other side closed gracefully 0" "Standby PLC: Open acyclic work socket failed" "Connection broke after 11806ms. Check BootupWaitTime." Autosync(fires but does not complete recovery) PCAP ANALYSIS (Wireshark): CODESYS sync stops completely at T+3s Server 1 sends TCP FIN on ports 1206 and 1208 at T+5s No CODESYS redundancy traffic for remaining 24 seconds Both servers stay standalone indefinitely WHAT WE HAVE TRIED: StandbyWaitTime = 12100ms SynchronousTimeout = 12100ms WatchdogTime = 12000ms (less than StandbyWaitTime) AutoSync enabled NIC2 set as Standby adapter Disabled Windows Network Discovery Direct cable test β rules out NIC hardware QUESTION: Per official CODESYS documentation: "No automatic Reconnect is included in the functional scope of the redundancy components. You can program the triggering of a reconnect." Is RDCY.Synchronize() the correct function to add to our application for automatic recovery after both PLCs go standalone? What is preventing auto-recovery when AutoSync is enabled and PlcIdent is correctly set? Thank you for your support.

Thank you very much for your reply. That helped, it is editable if the library is at root level. Unfortunately, I noticed that I am not using the MQTT client SL, but the AzureMQTTClient from the Azure IoT Hub Client SL library. At first glance, there is no parameter to increase the message size. Does anyone know how to increase this in the library or is it simply not possible here?
