We are having issues right now, and I just stumbled on that post. It seems to me you are saying your Linux ARM control is RPi 5-compatible, but the one you sell specifically for RPi is not. The fix you are proposing requires customers to re-purchase a CODESYS licence. Is there a time frame for that to be fixed?

I dont know exactly why this error happens, but I think its because you have some wrong whiles. Because when i had that problem it was because I accidently wrote while true then and it was stuck in the loop.

So far I can only start a new Codesys instance with Python, but not access an already running one. How can I access the running Codesys instance?

I just installed codesys runtime on a raspberry pi Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC @ 1.5GHz (Compute Module 4) I am running on Codesys control for raspberry pi 64 SL ver 4.13.0 and I keep getting a crash after about five to ten minutes. This program was running fine on a 32bit system with runtime 4.8 previously but they upgraded the panel PC cause it got smashed. Looking at the logs I see this error "ERROR: GetNetLinkSockAndInfoByMac(): could not open netlink socket: Too many open files" at the time of crash. I do have a UDP socket open for a serial to ethernet adapter and im wondering if maybe its opening a bunch of sockets and while receiving messages, Im not sending anything to the device only receiving. Really not clear what you are trying to do, but isn't a Struct enough? So add an object of the type DUT to the Application. Then create a structure TYPE ST_Sensor : STRUCT sName : STRING; uiNumber : UINT; END_STRUCT END_TYPE Then in you application add an instance of this Structure stSensor1 : ST_Sensor := (sName := 'my sensor', uiNumber := 1); or use it like this stSensor1.sName := 'my sensor';

Hello jacobwago, I believe that the limit is fixed in the editor, but not in the driver package. There seems to be no link between the driver setting and the editor. Otherwise, I don't know why the input (>10) is blocked, but the function is available. Unfortunately, I cannot offer you any other solution apart from the one mentioned above. Kind regards

What do they do? (sorry if this is a duplicate question, I don't know what words to use to search for this syntax)

yes i took the library from another forum: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/f1400b71b6/, it is made for the ads1115 but the ads1015 is almost the same device with same adresses i only changed the divide value of the analog value, because thats the only difference between the ads1115 and ads1015.

After many tests i see that problem comes when serial communication established for modbus rtu. If the slave device not connected we don't see the exception. If the slave device connected at serial port then we have exception about 1 hour after startup and every 10 or 15 minutes. Any suggestion?

Not knowing exactly what you want to accomplish, you can try to use VAR_INPUT MyVar: POINTER TO BOOL; END_VAR MyVar contains the address of your referenced variable, and MyVar^ dereferences it allowing you to access the value. If this doesn't meet your needs, could you add more detail on what you are trying to accomplish?

I am using Codesys SP20 patch 5 and in a visualization element, the "Color variables" section does not have a section to set up dynamic color values linked to variables. In a previous version (SP18), I get the option to add variables for Normal & Alarm state colors. Does anyone know how to get the dynamic color variables to work?

In your soft plc folder, there is a file called targetvisuextern.cfg. Open this with a text editor to change the settings. Remove the semi-colons in front of the lines to enable your custom window settings. WindowType=0 means you will get a moveable window. Save the file and restart the soft PLC to enable these settings.

Nope! The file path is $$PlcLogic$$ and NOT $$PLCLogic$$. Otherwise a new folder ('PLCLogic') is created (at least with a linux rt - like raspberry or compute module) with the new file in it if you open the file with eFileMode := FILE.MODE.MRDWR. That is a bad bug that I'll report right after this comment.

Yes, either adding in the CODESYSContro_User.cfg because the driver will no longer appear in the list or type the name from the documentation in the configuration and when the gray check mark appears, the driver is also installed. It is just not selectable anymore.

Hi, I've read that you can perform Atomic instructions like AtomicReadLInt on variables. However, I'd like to know if this uses stdatomic internally. My main question is : Is it possible to share atomic types in shared memory with CodeSys. If so, what types should they be declared as? If not, are the atomic functions lock-free or does it use a mutex?

Hello, Working in 3.5 SP11 32 bit and using the 3S CANopenSafety Slave 3.5.11.0 library on an IFM CR711S. The 3SCSSD.CANOpenDevicesSIL2 function block keeps throwing "UNSAFESTACK_NOT_OPERATIONAL" Additionally, the Status of the device gives "There was an error accessing an I/O parameter". Any ideas on where my issues may lay? I have not found any good documentation that would explain the issue.

hi imdatatas, thanks for your suggestion! I added the process execution to be sure. In the meantime I reïnstall Windows but it dind't help directly. Finally I deleted CodeMeter Runtime Server after Codesys installation. Because this Service was not able to start. And it works (for now) :)!

Before creating this topic, I was browsing the search results for CodesysControl.cfg - many results, and I remember very well, it's a problematic issue for a long time. To summarize: there were many requests for documentation on this file - the most comprehensive reply is: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/ebbf851a3d/#eb85 Hi, not really, this is covered by the manual which you get if you use a runtime toolkit which is not free of charge. Maybe we need to extract the config file part from that documentation if that is possible. BR Edwin I am not sure how much is this relevant, since we buy SL License directly from CODESYS... I think it is a reasonable demand, to get documentation on the configuration entries affecting the documented behaviour of the runtime system and it's components The actual reason I bring up this issue again can be read here: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/febad3cc40/#0e12 but mostly my frustration about noticing some new, unknown and undocumented entries in my configuration file. Again. And this happens a lot recently. Just some examples: Changes with SysFile - and mandatory use of IEC path Introduction of Mandatory user management File transfer service now disabled by default SysProcess - allowed commands The above mentioned CmpApp parameters... And finally (Regaridng windows install): With the newer versions, the installation directory (together with the configuration file) tends to hide itself to some super silly location under the roaming profile data of local system account. I am not sure if this change was documented somewhere, but was a very unpleasant one. Someone could please explain the reason and the concept of the introduction of this release specific directories (I am sure, there is a good reason) - how to use them properly? - How to re-introduce user configuration (to preserve configuration data between versions)? - How to do version - to version migrations properly? - How to keep old version of runtime available and ready to start with it's original configuration and application? - ... Therefore, the lack a regularly updated description of CodesysControl .cfg , including all the configuration entries, together with their default values for different runtime versions is really a big deficiency.* This should be done for all components storing or just seeking data from this file... (Maybe there is such thing but I failed to find???) It is regularly causing trouble when introducing a new version (together with the long awaited bug fixes and enhancements), what has changed it's default behaviour for security or other practical reasons. I agree this is very important, and it is logical to change the default options: But it must be documented historically, and make it easily available, so we can prepare better for the upgrade of the runtime. Forge talk is a great source, but not very practical for this kind of documentation purposes... Following up on the invalid user authentication on the target Not 100% sure what the problem was but following my post I managed to create an administrator level user. Then my next issue was that I could not connect to the device. I might have flipped the device from a 64 bit version to a 32 bit version so I did UPDATE DEVICE back to the 64 bit version; still could not connect somehow. Then I did two things at the same time that fixed my problem: Wiped the Codesys Control Win 64 bit version and installed the 32 bit version Installed latest Codesys Control Win V3.5 SP20 (released today) I wish I knew which one of these actions fixed the problem but at least the problem is solved. Hoping this post may help someone one day
