In Windows I need create shared memory in PC software and connect from CODESYS. If shm is not GLOBAL doesn't work due different users between runtime and PC software. PC software need admin privileges. Name need "Global\\" before key. Very unsafe!!! If CODESYS create shared I cannot find key PC side. In Linux I can create shared memory as standard user, bind in the runtime docker, use keys without any "Global\\". Much more safe!!! If CODESYS create shared you need play with permissions to use app as standard user. I prefer create form PC software as standard user.

Following up on the invalid user authentication on the target Not 100% sure what the problem was but following my post I managed to create an administrator level user. Then my next issue was that I could not connect to the device. I might have flipped the device from a 64 bit version to a 32 bit version so I did UPDATE DEVICE back to the 64 bit version; still could not connect somehow. Then I did two things at the same time that fixed my problem: Wiped the Codesys Control Win 64 bit version and installed the 32 bit version Installed latest Codesys Control Win V3.5 SP20 (released today) I wish I knew which one of these actions fixed the problem but at least the problem is solved. Hoping this post may help someone one day

Hi all, I've played a bit with the VisuUserManagement library, and some other security option in my project, and I started getting this error when logging in - see attached pic. something to do with a specific screen in the library - VUM_Login. Also, Codesys started to ask me to log in to the library when logging in, asking to log in as user of the groups Maintainer or Owner, which I dont know either users (attached pic). when I close the login screen and try to log in to the PLC again, everything works again until I close and open Codesys. I do use user and password to login to the PLC, and this login screen is fine I know the user and pass I setup. anyone know what did I do wrong here and how to fix it?

Hello, We are trying to implement an automated method of adding of a certificate and private key to the Windows certificate store for encrypting CODESYS projects. We want to do this so that users do not have to deal with details of certificates at all and to prevent user error. We are keen on enforcing strong private key protection since it ensures that a password is required for the certificate to be used to decrypt a CODESYS project. When we add a certificate to the certificate store and enable strong key protection using the Microsoft Management Console Certificates snap-in, it works as expected. However, through this method the user may mistakenly not enable strong private key protection. For the certificates we create programmatically (using Microsoft’s Cryptography Next Generation API in .Net 7) bag attributes are added to the certificate and key by the API. These bag attributes are as follows: Bag Attributes localKeyID: 01 00 00 00 subject=C = xx, ST = xxx, O = xxx, OU = xxx, CN = xxx issuer=C = xx, ST = xxx, L = xxx, O = xxx, OU = xxx, CN = xxx -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- [encoded certificate] -----END CERTIFICATE----- After using this certificate with bag attributes to encrypt a CODESYS project, it can’t be decrypted, showing this error: "The specified project could not be loaded. Possible reasons might be: - The project file is corrupted or invalid - The project has been saved with a newer version of the programming system. If this is the case, you can open the project in the corresponding version. Choose "Save as..." with the appropriate storage version, and retry again. - You may not have the necessary permissions to lad the project" We know that the bag attributes are causing the issue because if we manually edit the certificate file to remove them before using the certificate to encrypt a project, the project can be decrypted as expected. However, we are unable to automatically enforce strong key protection using this method. Reopening this thread as I need to make a few images visible depending on the value of a variable. However, in the properties of the image I do not have the option to make the image visible (see attached image). I´m using Codesys V3.5 SP19. However, when I use V3.5 SP17 I have the option to make the images visible. Can someone help me achieve this with V3.5 SP19? EDIT: Fixed. Just had to uncheck Support client animations in the Visualization manger settings

I use the function SysFile.SysFileOpen(sFileNamePara, SysFile.ACCESS_MODE.AM_WRITE, pErrorFileOpen); to open and write a file. Since the update from Codesys V3.5 SP17 to V3.5 SP19 Patch 5 it does not work anymore. I first had SysFile.SysFileOpen(sFileNamePara, SysFile.ACCESS_MODE.AM_APPEND_PLUS, pErrorFileOpen); in both versions. hFile_Test is a pointer to byte. It gives an exceptional error when dereferencing the hFile_Test pointer. Edit: I use Codesys on a Raspberry pi

I've had issues getting the raspistepper installed, all due to errors upon installation. The closest I get is the pictured error. The functions are in the sm3_shared library. I can add this library but that leaves 2 issues. I don't actually know, and I really want to understand this, why the required dependencies haven't been installed correctly. If I add the library it's only available with through the namespace. What can I do to both understand and resolve this? Hi, yes i did solve it. You have to change the namespace 0 model in the UaModeler. Open the modeler --> Settings --> Edit Settings --> scroll down to the last option "External Model Support" --> Check "Allow replacing built-in..." Now create a new project in the UaModeler. If you have to choose your base models, you can see the option "Find another Opc.Ua.NodeSet2". I have attached the .xml i am using.

Hello, I am new to this forum so apologies if this is posted in the incorrect area. I am getting an error when trying to open the HTML5 Control Editor - this was working fine previous days. I am using Codesys V3.5 SP20 Patch 3. I have reinstalled the application. Below is a screenshot of what shows when I attempt to open HTML5 Control Editor. When you say it does not work, does nothing happen or do you get an error? I have not used this function in codesys but from my past experience with Modbus I believe the coils need to be contiguous, which may be why yours is failing? Have you tried using Write Registers (16) to do the job? Or is their data in-between you do not want to edit in the transaction?
