This is the operating system and has nothing to do with the runtime. Unless you use 64bit commands. You can see for yourself that you have errors with 64bit compilers

In the past, we have routinely used the "add all instance paths" function to automatically add variables to VAR_CONFIG lists. My recollection is that compiling a project did not require VAR_CONFIG to be fully populated, and, once successfully compiled, instance paths could be added. Errors related to missing declarations, if I recall correctly, were thrown when downloading to the PLC, they did not prevent a successful compile. At some point, it stopped working. Missing declarations in a VAR_CONFIG now cause a compile error, so the application is never "current", the only reason I can see being the missing VAR_CONFIG declarations themselves (no other error). We observe the same behavior across all our projects. This is really aggravating, and I must be missing something simple. We use 3.5 SP17p3, 64 bits. Can anyone help?

The way I usally tackle this is by syncing only words (then you are able to use the FB above). If you then want to write a Boolean simply type it like this. Value[1].0 := Bool1; Value[1].1 := Bool2; Value[1].2 := Bool3; Uints have the same number of bits than a INT/WORD so these ones will work as well (they are only represented diffrently). A Real will work but you will loose some infomration in the conversion. If you want to keep the information you can convert 2 words to a float with a function (for example with the IEEE-754 standard) . In this way the syncing to the server is very simple and in the Codesys Program you decide what part of the word you want to use.

Hello :) We are currently configuring a system with Codesys as SoftPLC on a Linux system and with Beckhoff terminals. I have already gained some experience with Codesys and also with TwinCat incl. TwinCAT Safety. What is new to me now is Codesys in conjunction with Beckhoff safety terminals. We are currently using an EL1918 & EL2904 here. I have been able to integrate both terminals into my project, but I don't know how to interconnect them so that they communicate. That's a bit easier with Twincat ^^ Can any of you help me? I would also prefer a Codesys EtherCAT Safety training or webinar if anyone knows of one. Unfortunately I can't find such an event on the internet.

Dear Sir, We are writing to seek guidance regarding our current situation with the Opto 22 Groov EPIC PR1 PLC system. Over the past year, we have successfully downloaded and implemented logic using Codesys, and the PLC has been operational without issues. However, we now require minor modifications to the logic. Despite attempting to upload the modified logic, we are unable to see the "online change" option, prompting us to consider a direct logic download. Our concern is that during this process, certain digital outputs or analog outputs might momentarily disrupt operations, which is unacceptable given the system's continuous 24x7 operation. We have explored online changes in other PLC systems, but due to the absence of the last downloaded backup, we are unable to proceed confidently.

Fehlermeldung "cmperrors interfaces, 3.5.5.0 (system): C0338: Die Bibliothek 'cmperrors interfaces, 3.5.5.0 (system)' wird nur in 32-Bit-Applikationen unterstützt": Wie kann ich die Bibliothek finden, die den Fehler verursacht? Beim Doppelklick auf die Fehlermeldung würde ich einen entsprechenden Hinweis erwarten. Aber es passiert gar nichts. Wenn ich im Bibliotheksverwalter manuell den Baum durchsuche, finde ich nur Referenzen auf CmpErrors2Interfaces, die ja 64bit kompatibel sind. Leider konnte ich bisher nur eine SSD mit einem 64bit OS für den RPi zum Laufen bringen. Deswegen gehen mir langsam die Ideen aus. Vielen Dank für die Hilfe

Hi there, I'm running the Codesys runtime on Windows 64 and I need to know if it is on "Running" or "Stopped" state just after a system crash. The following commands works perfectly well to (re)start it... net stop “CODESYS Control Win V3 - x64" net start “CODESYS Control Win V3 - x64" ...however I'm unable to determine when it is required to be call; I mean, by checking the System Tray icon, it is possible to know if it is on "Stopped" state, but I wanted to run a .BAT command to retrieve it. How can we do that?

Hi, Got same problem, appeared after 4.3.1.0 update. Prabably problem is in performance. I am using virtual machine, so adding one more core and several GB to RAM still not solved, but atleast did system more stable. Try optimise your main program or set less task interval. Have you found a solution for this? Id be thankful for every hint. I have a controller with the same events in log and sometimes it crashes. Memory of the codesys3 task rises until the linux system kills the task because the controller runs out of memory.

Sorry, wrong expression. You have a 64bit system, so do I. You can also use the 64bit runtime, but most bib and commands are 32bit and are not properly supported. I had read somewhere that there are problems with I2C. That's why I recommend switching to PI_SL and using the correct gpio.

System information - Controller: KUNBUS RevPi CONNECT-S - OS: Linux buster 32bit 5.10.103-rt62-v7l #1 SMP PREEMPT_RT armv7l GNU/Linux - CODESYS v3.5 SP19 Patch 2 I'm facing a problem related to codesys licences using a procedure based on a bash script. Such bash script detect the presence of new .deb files and install them on system. My automation solution don't allow to be maintained by dedicated personal, thus even the CODESYS runtime SW must be installed using an "automatic" procedure instead of using the CODESYS tool. remark I've been using the following procedure since the runtime v4.5 without any issue. Before installing the new runtime packages, I need to copy the file CODESYSControl_User.cfg (here attached) because of new section which is necessary to add in order to allow some folders to be written by CODESYS runtime v4.9 Up to now, this has been unnecessary, this is the main difference between my previos bash file and the new one. remark If I skip this action, everythings goes fine, but my CODESYS application can't work as it needs to access some folders on controller's file system. Hello, I got a device from which I require to read values from I am using a WAGO PLC 750-8212 and I am communicating through Modbus Master FUNCTION BLOCK from library WagoAppPLCModbus in Codesys 3.5 to this device. I already receive data from the device that is a CVM to monitor voltage from a fuel cell. The technical support of the company that makes these devices says that the data is sent in little endian form. And I want to convert it to a float value. The tech support sent me the next instructions of how to do it but I am new using codesys, so any advice or help I will really appreciate so much. Message from tech support: The process is complicated, better to do it with already implemented library in the language/program you use. Basically the process should be next: To convert the two Modbus registers containing parts of a 32-bit float in little-endian byte order to a floating-point number using mathematical operations, you first need to combine the two 16-bit integers (assuming reg1 is the lower word and reg2 is the higher word) and then interpret the result according to the IEEE 754 standard. Given: - Register 192 (reg1) = 4096 - Register 193 (reg2) = 14884 Step 1: Combine the two registers. Since we are dealing with little-endian byte order, reg2 is the high word, and reg1 is the low word: combined = reg2 * 2^16 + reg1 combined = 14884 * 65536 + 4096 combined = 975175680 + 4096 combined = 975179776 Step 2: Convert the combined value to binary: combined_binary = '1110101101011100000000000000000' Step 3: Split the binary into IEEE 754 components: Sign bit (1 bit): 0 Exponent (8 bits): 11101011 Mantissa (23 bits): 01011100000000000000000 Step 4: Convert the binary exponent to decimal and subtract the bias (127 for 32-bit floats): exponent = int('11101011', 2) - 127 exponent = 235 - 127 exponent = 108 Step 5: Calculate the mantissa as a fraction: The mantissa in IEEE 754 format is the fractional part after the leading 1 (which is implicit).
