I’m facing the same issue with Windows RTE SoftMotion — it works fine as long as nothing else is open in Windows, but as soon as I start another application, the EtherCAT DC time and max jitter values spike, and then all axes stop. Hello, I am using an Inovance PLC to control a servo via EtherCAT. When I enable MC_POWER, the drive switches to Run mode successfully. After that I call MC_MoveRelative, but I get the error SMC_FB_WASNT_CALLED_DURING_MOTION. The servo vibrates but the motor shaft does not move. Dear darwin03, my first guess is that the axis scaling of the last axis (joint 6) is not correct. It should be confiugured so that one technical unit equals one angular degree. From the video, it rather looks like 1 technical unit is a full revolution of the joint. (This holds for all rotary axes used with SoftMotion Robotics: they must be scaled so that one technical unit equals one angular degree.) Best regards, Georg

Can anyone shed some light on this issue im having. at random, sometimes days, sometimes weeks or months. i get this error and have to reset the plc. Im using a Weintek HMI with ethernet/ip remote io and vsd. i have tried increasing my task times and watchdogs. and when i view my PLCload in the shell its normally around 3-4%, highest ive ever seen is 7%. Nothing i do seems to help the issue. Could the HMI's Codesys CPU be getting to hot do to high ambient temp?

Hi alex-n, are there any errors before the crash happens: MC_Phasing.Error, MC_Phasing.CommandAborted, what does the PLC log show before the crash? Does one of the drives show an error? You can achieve the same effect as MC_Phasing by using MC_GearIn and MC_MoveSuperImposed. But probably there is some problem in your application independent of MC_Phasing that can lead to the crash. Thanks So Much for the reply! Were using the Weidmuller UV66-ADV-10-CAP-W The HMI is pointed to the URL which is assigned through u-OS. Basically when you log into the controller's webserver via browser you can view the installed apps. One of which is the Codesys runtime. When you click on that it takes you to the visualization. That corresponding url is what the HMI is looking for. I apologize I don't have that on hand as I'm in the office right now. I don't think I tried connecting using the port you mentioned and https in lieu of the u_OS URL. I can certainly try. Out of the box the u-OS is set for HTTP. Since we're isolated I havent changed that yet. When this has happened while logged on via chrome on my laptop, simply refreshing brings the visualization right back. In the case of the HMI in kiosk mode, we power cycle the HMI to force a reconnect, log back in u-OS and the visualization is back.

Hi all! I'm working on an home project using a Raspberry Pi 3 device with Codesys for Raspberry Pi 64 SL runtime. I would like to create the HMI interface with Siemens WinCC Unified (or Advanced) configuring the Raspberry as OPC UA server. I tryed everything, but I didn't find the way to let the OPC UA connection works using UaExpert. I tryed to use anonymous connection, authenticated connection and the ip address instead of the server name in the path connection. There is no way to connect to the OPC UA server and I was asking myself if this feature is really supported for the runtime version used. Another strange thing I noted, is that is not possible to quickly create an OPC UA certificate in the Security Screen, as show in any tutorials. I have correctly created the Symbol Configuration enabling the OPC UA feature. I attach to this topic some printscreen of the actual configuration (sorry for the italian language interface, but I didn't find the way to switch to english). Hello, i need to create an application that uses 2 masters, with 2 different ratios, and it outputs in one single slave. I explain better: Imagine axis A, B and C. -Axis A is the slave. -Axis B is master of A, with a specific ratio. -Axis C is master of A, with a specific ratio. the result motion from B and C should be executed by A, proportionally in position and ratios from B and C. With standard softmotion libraries (MC_...) it is not possible (i couldn't) because it is allowed only one master with its ratio. I have made a similiar application in past, using MoveOverGear in order to synch gears before engage. Instead this time, i need to do a gear over gear application, using 2 different masters. The position have to be the sum of both masters (considering their ratios). Any clue about how to do it? Or were to find some FB that can do it?

Thank you @TimvH It is clear that licences are application based and now thanks to your reply I could understand the meaning of RT systems. The RT called "CODESYS Control for Linux ARM SL" can be deployed on a generic debian based ARM system. The RT called "CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL" is more specific for Rasberry HW. Did I understand correctly? Regarding the RT called "CODESYS Virtual Control SL" despite its description it is not clear to me when to use it. It seems that a project created using such RT system can be deployed on any HW. It sound good obviously, as it means that it is possible to realize a completely abstract project from its hardware. The only limit could be represented by the need of using a specific HW or OS feature, in that case a more specific RT system should be chosen. Is my last consideration correct? Regards Rossano

Hi, We have a machine running Codesys on a Windows IPC (CODESYS Control Win v3 - x64). When we hard shutdown the machine, the code on the PLC sometimes becomes "corrupted" after a power on (When trying to login to the PLC, we get the message "The application 'Application' does not exist on device."). I've noticed these errors in the logs, but I'm not sure what to make of them. We are not using any RETAIN variables in our code, although I'm not sure about referenced librairies. (we are using the persistence manager). I'm pretty sure that not doing a graceful shutdown is the root cause of this. This being said, what is the proper way of doing a graceful shutdown? Is putting the Codesys application in "stop" sufficient? I know how to implement this, so if it works then it would be a quick fix. However, I think we need to add a UPS, which would detect power loss and inform the PLC that it needs to initiate its shutdown, and then the PLC would shutdown gracefully. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated :)
