I had a similar situation recently where this didn't work, but read to the end to see the solution. The reason is that CODESYS only downloads visualisations (dialogs) if they are part of the project or linked to the project. In your case the dialog is not loaded onto the controller. But the solution is pretty simple: Double click on the Visualization Manager in your application. Select the Tab "Visualizations". Here you can see that your dialog is not "checked". Do this manually and load your project on the controller. Then your code should be able to open the dialog, because now it exists on the controller.

To organize this mapping I want to make a MODBUS list where I show all the variable names together with the memory address. Is there an easy way to export this list from CODESYS? Either through script or some export function maybe?

Hello eschwellinger, at first thank you for your answer. So the only ways to activate the user management are CodeSys delevelopment enviroment and the Codesys Automation Server. So there is no function to activate the user management via code? Do you have an idea how to get back the users when somebody replaced the PLC. Our customers have only our own developed visualization and they also don't want to install further softwares. Do you maybe have a solution for this

If yes, how? I defined a TEST integer variable with 300 value. I tried to add this variable to the width record (.TEST or only TEST), but if I saved, the value jumps back to 0. Just verified the behaviour. Still is the same. It should be attached here. But I also tried the DCF-file with the axis in the lab with the real drive: The MC_Power block never goes out of busy. Had not time to investigate further, though.

My experience is that opening pdf file is very dependent on which browser is used. I have tried a couple of them and only Mozilla Firefox has opened file correctly in same screen. All other browsers face some issues. Therefor I had to flip my pdf to txt which has not been nice solution.

Problem solved The client modbus cycle time was linked to a task at 500ms. Whereas the channel modbus was at 200ms. Certainly problem of packages synchronisation. I let the client modbus cycle time to be handled by itself (See attachement) --> "Use the bus cyle time parameters" (traduce from french) See attachement

Hello, I am facing a problem with the new Softmotion 4.17.0.0 version. Has anyone encountered a similar problem, what is the solution? I would be happy if you could share it. Problem description: -- "SMC_FreeEncoder" encoder axis is the master, -- The motor of the servo driver on the EtherCAT bus is the slave axis. -- When the MC_CamIn block executed, the InSync output is activated. However, although the master encoder axis position value changes, there is no movement in the slave servo axis! Test steps: 1-) EtherCAT servo axis installed, configured and motion test was performed with MC_Jog. No problem. 2-) Softmotion general axis pool > SMC_FreeEncoder was added and pulse amount configuration was performed. No problem. 3-) Incremental encoder actual count value was transferred to the "SMC_FreeEncoder.diEncoderPosition" variable as DINT under the ethercat task in every cycle and the encoder axis position value was observed. No problem. 4-) A simple CAM table with a 1:1 ratio was created under the project tree. (For example: Simply, when the encoder rotates 1 turn, the motor will rotate 1 turn.) 5-) The SMC_FreeEncoder axis enabled with MC_Power and brought to the StandStill state. 6-) The MC_CamTableSelect block was run with default input values ​​(all absolute) and only the Cam table name was specified. The Done output was seen successfully. No problem. 7-) The MC_CamIn block was activated with default input values ​​(absolute) and only the master encoder axis name, slave servo axis name, CamTableID input pins was specified and then "Execute" input set to TRUE. 8-) The InSync output information of the MC_CamIn block observed as TRUE. However, although the encoder axis value changed, the position value of the slave axis did not change at all, it did not move. It always remained at 0.0mm. 9-) When I repeated the same steps above, only changing the master axis to SM_Drive_Virtual instead of FreeEncoder and gave movement to the virtual axis, this time the slave axis moved successfully. However, when the same steps and operations are performed with the same IDE just downgrade SoftMotion version from 4.17.0.0 to 4.10.0.0, everything works normally and without problems as expected in MC_CamIn block with FreeEncoder master. (By the way, The used IDE version is Codesys V3.5 SP20patch3.) Best Regards Imdat

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Please note that the information and links provided are related to OPC UA Client/Server. My problem was related to OPC UA Pub/Sub. In the end I have managed to establish OPC UA Pub/Sub communication between Codesys and TwinCAT systems. Keep in mind that OPC UA Pub/Sub example is not provided in the latest library version 1.1.0.0. The user needs to download the previous version to get the example. During the configuration I ended up with some doubts regarding the usage of IEC_ARRAY type in the dataset definition (see attachment). Can you please give more information on how to use this type? Hello everyone, maybe someone can help me with the following problem. I wanted to insert a trend element in my visualization. The problem is that I have set fixed fonts with a scaling of 1.5 for the individual languages via the visualization manager. This setting means that I have this scaling in every element, which has been quite comfortable so far because I didn't have to set the individual properties in the text fields. But in the trend element, even if I select other font sizes or fonts in the element itself, this font is also overwritten and I get a label on the x-axis that is no longer displayed correctly. Is there a way to prevent the overwriting of the font properties in this element or similar behavior? I mean, I could change the font size of each element manually, but the Visu app is a bit larger and it would be easier to have another option. Best regards Etienne

In general, drives have parameter sets to adjust behaviour in such cases: position recovery, adaptation with resistant torque, out-of-position window failure, etc. (Much depends on the type of configuration set for the axis: positioner, speed controller, torque controller, etc.). I have used that type of drive very little, in only two cases and a long time ago. To tell you what is normal is impossible. I know by reputation they are very simple objects, without too many pretensions and adjustments possible. Try running traces by monitoring actual position, motor current, torque and following error. These are the most sensible curves to understand what is going on. Maybe by fine tuning the motor tuning, the current controller or the speed controller you will get something closer to what you want. For example, from DS, the motor has a standstill torque of 3 Nm. Observe with traces whether this is effective: motor current trend. And afterwards, when you have your own accurate picture of the situation, you can also hear from the product's local support to see if you can steal a few more things from it performance-wise.

I figured this out on my own with this logic: usually the Serial port on a Raspberry pi is on /dev/ttyUSB0 then you need to set linux.DeviceFile=/dev/ttyUSB in codesys you then must set com port to 1 so i assumed codesys subtracts 1 from the number and adds this to the filename... (in code it would look like this: var comPort : byte := '1'; linuxDevice : string := '/dev/ttyUSB'; filename : string; end_var filename := concat(linuxDevice, (to_string(comPort-1)); filaname then is /dev/ttyUSB0 RevPi uses ttyRS485 as Serial port so you must remove the last number from the name and set the com port to this number +1 i hope this is understandable ;-)

Hi, I'm wondering if it exist a button or a keyboard shortcut (much much better) for "collapse all" the open folder on a codesys project. It would really be nice to have. Also: Are there some options or configuration for set a default zoom for the different editor (or even one global), for example I would like to have 100% on ST, LD editor and have 80% on Visualization Editor; and also have a button to set all the zooms to default, now it seems that every file mantain the one previously set. I'm working with the 3.5.20.10 right now Thanks!
