This "FB_Init" error has become very annoying lately. It's usually related to webvisu and is resolved by deleting all objects and related libraries. Of course, you need to re-add the deleted objects. Lately, we've generally been managing by not upgrading, but this problem persists in every version since SP20 and should be resolved. I updated a project from SP 19 to SP 21 and found 116 similar errors. I had the FB called via a for loop to call a few instances of my FB I have removed it the for loop and just called them 1 by 1. Hello, there in different information available regarding the possibility to run CODESYS Control for Linux SL on a virtual machine. https://forge.codesys.com/trg/linux-sl/home/Home/ says CODESYS Control for Linux SL is a runtime system, which can run on any Debian based X86 PC, VM or Cloud container... https://store.codesys.com/media/n98_media_assets/files/2302000005/3/CODESYS%20Control%20for%20Linux%20SL_de.pdf says CODESYS Control for Linux SL can not be used on virtual hardware Currently I run the package mentioned on a virtualized debian machine running in PROXMOX Virtual Environment 7.4-17 and apart from huge jitter it runs without problems. The CODESYS key is passed as a USB defice to the VM. I wonder why there are different statements regarding the suitability in virtual machines and if the jitter would be reduced by installing CODESYS runtime on the host installing CDS runtime on the host and using a preemptive kernel (if available for the PROXMOX installation leaving CDS runtime where it is (on the virtualized debian machine) and install a preemptive kernel on the host and on the guest... Hello together I'm currently investing in possibilities to have a central engineering software / system for Codesys based controllers. Something like a DCS / SCADA depending on where you see the functionality. We plan to use more or less vanilla codesys. The tool should support the following: - Connect to multiple PLC's in a project to see its variables and debug it. - Central Engineering capabilities (for example shared libraries in a project). - Download the new code / binaries to the plc. - Maybe have functionality to combine visualization elements and logic together. - See the live status variables on all the systems (crosscommunication). I see that codesys theoretically supports engineering of multiple PLC's, but I couldnt find to much functionality for a DCS type of operation, but that could be lack of knowledge. Any tips from you? Is Codesys good enough for this and maybe there are some manufacturers which build around it? Or are there good tools on the market with Codesys support (and the engineering is separate, but download to codesys possible). The use case is distributed energy installations like Heating pumps, Photovoltaics, etc. All these installations should have a PLC with codesys installed and run in one larger network, the PLC's are connected via VPN. Hi, I need to accesss to project information of a referenced library in the project. At least I need the "Released" flag from these information to check that no project gets shipped with unreleased libraries. Unfortunally, I do not get this information by script. I'm running the 3.5.18.20 IDE, installed the control for linux SL package from the installer. Following the directions here: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_install_runtime_on_controller.html it says: Installing the runtime package with CODESYS on the Linux device Click Tools → Update CODESYS Control for <device> SL.</device> I don't have the update option in my tools menu. I've tried it without opening a project, as well as with a project open that uses the control for linux SL as a device. I have found the update device option by right clicking on the device in the device tree, but this only lets me change the device the project is using not load the runtime on the linux computer. Is there an updated instruction somewhere, or do I need to do some further preparation like install additional packages?

Hi, I tried posting in the discussion for the HTTP Client example but perhaps that is not monitored? I have been using http client successfully for approximately 12 months, however in recent weeks I have begun to get TCP_INIT_ERROR when attempting to communicate. The only resolution seems to be power cycling and then the connection begins to work again for a time. I am not aware of any changes to code or libraries between working ok and now. Cold reset does not resolve, only power cycle. It seems the error from NBS.TCP_Client is 6002 which I think is invalid_addr However the address is the same when working and not working?

I am using a Raspberry Pi 2B. Installed Codesys V3.5.20.1 64-bit and installed 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI 4.12.0.0' I am able to install the packages using the 'Update Raspberry Pi' option, but when I try to log into the RPi, in the Device tab it says 'Sacn fail. Please checl that the gateway is running and that its settings are correct'. My setup looks like this. I connected my RPi to my company LAN and also my laptop to company LAN (using HP Docking station). This setup worked when I installed 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI', but now I donot know how to configure the gateway. Could anyone please help me in finding what I have to enter in the gateway configuration? Thanks, Vamsi.

Why do you develop things like this? The workflow should be highly dependent on autocomplete, then if that's not super obvious browse to definition and everything is made clear possibly with the checking of a few types. The nature of how things are done makes me think these libraries aren't developed for general use and are actually internal or for partners. The example projects include objects that don't appear in autocomplete and then lead nowhere obvious when browsing. Do you consider developer workflow when creating these libraries? Are some libraries really for public use such as Visu Utils and others not? If so which? It's really hard to tell.

However I feel main documentation is lacking. For example, where can I find that object has "is_device" attribute? Of course I need to remove check: if treeobj.is_device: But simply removing this test condition will not produce what I want. I have noticed that a rm file1.txt command on a shell has an impact on the cycle time for a TASK writing to file2.txt. Seen in the Monitor fane of the Task configuration Furthermore if a TASK makes a system call like rm, its cycle time increases of course but it seems to have an invisible impact on other TASKs too. I have a TASK for handling communication over the CANbus (SPI) where it stops sending "Heartbeats" for many seconds when another TASK does a system rm. Why is that not seen on the Monitor fane? Is even codesyscontrol paused when system calls are made? The CPU load is about 30-40%

Hello, I am trying to get TargetVisu for Linux working but i am having some troubles. The problem is that after installation it is not starting automatically on boot and i cannot start it from the update Targetvisu tool. When i try i get the following error (see attached screenshot) The file /opt/codesysvisualization/scripts/codesysvisualization_start.sh is missing... Steps performed: - installed fresh Debian 12.7 on virtual machine - installed all required libraries as described here: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_target_visu_for_linux.html - then installed the TargetVisu for Linux SL 4.13.0.0 using the Codesys IDE Does someone know how i can fix this? It seems you have 2 network interfaces. Did you try eth1? Did you already configure the IP address for this interface in Linux? If yes, then maybe undo this. - or only set eth0 in the Nic configuration without anything else (so no IP address, because this is already set in Linux). For more information about the Nic settings, see (probably already read it?): https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_obj_deploy_control_sl_configuration.html PS, if you only want to run CODESYS Control SL, you don't necessarily need the Virtual PLC variant. You could also install and run the CODESYS Control SL Runtime in the Host operating system. This way you should also be able to access the serial port and directly access all ethernet ports. Maybe this is easier?

Hi, i think you are right. Did you press the key shopping cart? Codesys tells you the license. What I don't appreciate is that i need an additional license for communication. The system reports opc ua but this cheats you. This is communication that also concerns the tag symbols that codesys eth v3 exchanges with an operator panel. Attached is a screenshot of my case where you can see that communication opc ua is cheating you. 512 tags included in the program license are few. So, I had to buy 2 licenses. one for the program and one for communication. I don't like this policy.

Or you need to modify the file codesyscontrol.cfg for change path permission, but this is another history Buone feste !

Hello, I am already able to run an OPC UA method in Codesys. Now my question, how can I interact with other tasks (e.g. read an SDO from EtherCAT and return it by the function)? The OPC UA method seems to be called only once (I tried to return BOOL or UINT values). Up to now I only found to do a while loop to wait for the result of the other task. Is there a better way to do it? Is this the way OPC UA functions should be used (for "not too long" function calls) or should I use another mechanism (method: Start, event: Finish, method: getResult)? Regards

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to locate a thread that leads me answers. I am running two RTE x64 softPLCs, one on the host machine and a second via a VM. I have managed to finally get both to a position that they see each other, but they are in standalone mode instead of an active/passive state for failover (image attached). Every attempt to sync via the button fails. There is probably some step or option that I have missed in my bumbling through this learning process, but for the life of me I can't seem to figure it out. Anyone got any suggestions what I need to look at to get this into an active/passive redundancy state?

Dear all, I am currently creating a program in the ST language. Because the program is starting to grow nicely I would like to switch to a more object-oriented way of programming. (Like for example in Python). By surfing the internet I found out that Function Blocks is the best method for this. Now I would like to delve further into this, with all the possibilities that Function Blocks have only I cannot find a clear course, explanation of what everything is around the function block thing and how to approach everything. I find the standard documentation around Function Blocks rather abstract and the examples are minimal. Therefore I am looking for a page/course/document explaining object oriented programming in Codesys (or other PLC programming environment). Do you have any recommendations on this?

Is there a way to see what value is set as the "Work travel distance per motor rotation" that is set in the Scaling menu of the axis ? I am working on my own homing function block for sensorless (hardstop) homing and I want to make it be universal between different axes with different motor's scaling for distance per rev so I need to know this value from the axis itself. I know I could do it by just creating an input variable for the function block but I'm leaving that option as a last resort.

Hi, How can i display targetvisualization in full screen on the target device? I installed Targetvisu For Linux SL 4.16.0.0 on target device which contains Raspberry PI 64bit PIXEL desktop. When i connect my PLC program to the remote targetvisu, the targetvisu displays for 60% horizontally. We contacted CODESYS and they said it is a bug. they had a workaround, and with the settings below added to the file /etc/codesysvisualization/CODESYSVisualizationTV.cfg, the targetvisualization display for 100%, but with the taskbar at the top. VisuClient.BestFit=1 ;VisuClient.ScaleTypeIsotropic=0 VisuClient.FillWholeBackground=1 [CmpTargetVisu] WindowPositionX=0 WindowPositionY=0 WindowSizeWidth=1280 WindowSizeHeight=800 WindowType=2 How can we let it display fullscreen without taskbar?

We are looking for the variable behavior from CODESYS has to change according to the message triggered by the CLIENT (we are using simulator Application like Redisant). We are able to see the log data as the status of triggering the SCS from Client received to the Log data of the codesys device(attached screen shot of it) and in simulator panel we had set the details to trigger the data from Redisant to Codesys. Current Status: The project builds and runs successfully, but I need guidance on how to connect this to an external IEC-104 simulator for testing and visualization by using demo mode.

Hi, Our program incorporates various function blocks and programs written in different languages such as St and SFC. They implement numerous actions and methods using different languages from their function blocks. My question is whether the execution order of function blocks is associated with the programming languages used. I understand that cycle time can be configured in the task configuration, but I'm curious if there is a specific sequence order of execution for function blocks written in different languages. For example, all function blocks in (ST) are executed first, followed by the execution of (SFC). Specifically, when the function is written in (ST) and the action is implemented in (SFC). I modified all function blocks in the main PLC program and configured a task configuration for the main program.

Hello I have a problem with Codesys on Raspberry pi with Bullseye The device is not recognized as a Raspberry pi, as I get this error : ooops... this runtime was built for RASPBERRYPI. Hardware version or firmware version not supported! (-18, 0x00000BB8, 0xFFFFFFFB) I'm running Codesys on a compute module 4S with Raspbian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye), my kernel version is Linux 5.10.90-v7l+ Codesys version is the latest, released last week (4.11.0.0, CODESYS Control V3.5.19.61 for ARM-32Bit - build Feb 22 2024) I know it works on the same device if I use Raspbian 10 (Buster) with Linux 5.4.81-v7l+ kernel, but for some other reasons I have to use Bullseye. What can I do ?
