I have a Python program that will handle things in my application such as VISA over IP and Telnet control of instruments. I want the main control and HMI in Codesys. My problem is communication between the two. I have looked at several ways to accomplish this, and settled on having the Python program create two named pipes, one to send information to Codesys, and one for Codesys to send information to Python. The information would be packetized with \n for end of packet.. Seems simple. I think the named pipes method should work, but file reading in Codesys using the CAA file library starts to get difficult when the file is never ending, as in this case. Before I spend too much time making something that may be fundamentally flawed I want to ask. Is there a better way? Is there a way to read the file 'one line at a time' which might solve my never ending file problem? Thanks!

Go to Online>Communication Parameters...>Gateway>TCP/IP> Click on "New..." and reestablish your connections with whatever IP address and set up information you have. Bypass whatever is necessary as you may have to redownload to the PLC.

Hi, My problem was related to the behavior of the modulo axis, but maybe you will find something useful from what I write. The solution lies in path processing. Codesys offers a G-code analysis tool. Insert a CNC object into the project. The CNC settings object will be added automatically. By inserting appropriate processing modules into the CNC settings object and parameterizing them, you can test the behavior of the axis. When the effect is satisfactory, remember to add the module from CNC settings in the correct order in the processing path. Each CNC machine case is different. You need to spend some time to get your design tailored like an Armani suit. Good luck.

Thank you for your answer! I'm not sure, but it seems this is not what I am looking for. I attached three pictures. The first one is from the Codesys IDE. I use an Information Model to generate an OPC-UA server. I connected via UA-Expert, and there I see the URIs I would like to change.

Hello @florian, Could you please help with how to set an array value? I've been trying to use the with the setKeyWithArray method which creates the key with an empty array value. Hi, CODESYS Control Standard S + CODESYS Visualization L, CODESYS Control for Beaglebone 4.11.0.0, CODESYS V3.5 SP20 + (64-bit) I have problem that license manager say that this device is not supported when i try active whole license. When I select only runtime and communication it is go next step, but then I no have license on in Visualistion section, all of rest of software metric licese is ok(IO, Istances of com et, code size etc.). Good morning, I think that the mode Simulation does not support the Softmotion functionnality because it runs the CODESYS process with normal priority wich is not a good thing for real-time behavior. If you want to test your PLC project, please use a Codesys Control Softmotion (and your computer must have the Ethercat driver installed) or much easier, download your code into the C6 Smart. BR

The “_AB AT %IW0:word; ” if i called the value then im getting this error. like below "the declartion of the variable with an address assignment cannot be used in a PRG or GVL with the attribute 'subsequent'" This is happening when the GVL is selected in Redundancy Configuration. if i un-select the address declaration is working fine
