Hi everyone, Iβm new to CODESYS and Wago devices, and Iβm trying to set up Modbus RTU communication. I have a Wago PFC200 (8110) and a 750-653 RS485 module, and I want to read data from an energy meter using Modbus RTU. Thanks in advance for your help!

Problem solved The client modbus cycle time was linked to a task at 500ms. Whereas the channel modbus was at 200ms. Certainly problem of packages synchronisation. I let the client modbus cycle time to be handled by itself (See attachement) --> "Use the bus cyle time parameters" (traduce from french) See attachement

Yes, either adding in the CODESYSContro_User.cfg because the driver will no longer appear in the list or type the name from the documentation in the configuration and when the gray check mark appears, the driver is also installed. It is just not selectable anymore.

I am considering using a SoftMotion cam and tappets to activate functions on a machine - for example, triggering a pneumatic valve. I need the ability to change the actuation point (tappet "X" location) from the HMI during machine commissioning. Is there a way to change the "X" value of a tappet programmatically?

Hello Everyone, Create separate repositories option not working in latest Codesys Installer 2.4.0 (Build 3545). It seems like a useful option regarding install the different versions of Codesys IDE on the same computer and keep in isolation from each other, but unfortunately it didn't work. I hope the Codesys team can fix this issue in the next update. Regards, Imdat

Is it possible to show a variable from a Frame Configuration in a Trace on that Visualization? I want to pass the FB for an AXIS_REF_ETC_SoE_Standard to the visualization and display live axis data in the visualization. However, I cannot find a way to use a Frame Configuration variable in the Trace Configuration dialog.

Hello, many thanks for your reply. I checked the logs. It seems that dll is not loaded. However other dll such as the Webserver are loaded. Could you tell me what I need to do such that my dll is loaded. (Furthermore I changed the C-Function a bit. I used the M4.exe from the SDK.) Many thanks.

Post by dnordenberg on BOOL variable in OPC UA and modbus simultaneously

How can I have an BOOL variable that is read/write in both modbus TCP server and from OPC UA at the same time? Variables with %MX.n %QX.n addressing which is used for BOOL/coils in modbus server is not allowed in OPC UA symbol list on Schneider M251 controllers. I have already asked on Schneiders forum but there are not a lot of codesys experts over there :( So OPC symbols can't have a address and the modbus TCP server needs a address. So how should I do it then? It seems like an impossible combination. Since I want read/write access from both ways I can't just simply make a second variable and assign it the value of another since it would be a one way assignment. I also tried using VAR_CONFIG which then makes the address syntax %Q or %M in my main variable list and that fools OPC UA Symbol Configuration to allow it and then I add the complete %MX.n address of it in the VAR_CONFIG list. This semi works, I can toggle the BOOL from modbus but the OPC UA symbol seems to be read only. It displays symbol status but nothing happens when I toogle it. I think I need another way to have the variables and symbols pointing to the same bits in memory... My plan B is to write a BOOL array compare FB that saves a history bit from previous cycle and if that does not match current status at next cycle for either the OPC symbol or the modbus variable then it copies the new status over to the other. Maybe ugly but it's like my last alternative. Kind regards David

Not sure, but maybe before you enter step 5, set i, lineindex and charIndex to 0. And the buffer variable should have a size bigger than 1 line. Additionally I think you should set bufferstart to 0 before you enter step 5. And in the OSCAT function you always point to the buffer address, but shouldn't this be (buffer + bufferstart)?

This is from sometime ago but below might help someone else; this could be done via POINTERS. Make sure you protect for NULL pointers etc if you take this approach. // DECLARATION myEnumValue : enumMyEnum; u8 : USINT; pmyEnumValue : POINTER TO enumMyEnum; pu8 : POINTER TO USINT; // CODE pu8 := ADR(u8); pmyEnumValue := pu8; myEnumValue := pmyEnumValue^; // dereference the pointer

Thanks Tim. I would think it somehow is relevant when creating a compiled library, but that may very well not be the case. If I understand you correctly, then the same compiled library created from my source code would work for both 32 bit as well as 64 bit controllers.

What happened to Python? Iβve just installed version 3.5.21.3 of the CODESYS development environment. Iβm coming from 3.5.19.5. What happened to Python scripting! We rely heavily on it for the automatic generation of thousands of lines of code! It seems absurd to me that such an important feature has been removed!

You can change the node id by adding the following to /etc/CODESYSControl.cfg: [CmpOPCUAProviderIecVarAccess] CustomNodeName=MyPLC123 Then restart the runtime and the new Node name will appear with the connection. I don't know if it's possible to remove the |var| from the name. I hope this helps!

Function blocks in a SFC are executed left to right, top to bottom, instructions in ST are executed from left to right top to bottom as well. I think you are asking about the execution of POUs although you use the name function block, I believe POUs are executed in the order they are shown under the main task.

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
