Post by andrax on CodeSys Raspberry pi I2C driver not found CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, Communication with the ADS1115 is actually simple. 1. write config 2. write address pointer 3. read conversation register The ADS1115 works like a multiplexer. This means that you do this individually for each channel that you want to read. e.g: Channel 1: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 2: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 3: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 4: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register then you start again from the beginning You can also omit individual channels or read only one. It doesn't matter. I have written the driver so that I can also use it on the TCA9548. The driver is from Stefan Dreyer. In your case, the driver works and communication with the ADS1115 is running. As you can see, the cfgWrong:=FALSE If you could not write or read data, cfgWrong:=TRUE; This means that either something is wrong with your ADS1115 or you have connected something incorrectly. Question: what voltage do you want to measure?

Post by struccc on Problem Reading Registers via Modbus from non Codesys device CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, Might be a good idea first to try out the connection and the device with some handy software, like Modbus Poll. There you can see better, what's really going on... - Is it really connected? - What error code does it return? - Can it read from the register address? - Maybe try Input registers and Holding Registers - can make a difference - Sometimes register addresses are messed up: shifted +-1 (mixing of 2 standards) - Sometimes register addresses start with offset 30000, 40000 ... - Are you using the right protocol? - Is it RTU or TCP? Maybe ASCII? - Can even have a look at the data packets, etc... All this is easier to figure out first with some modbus utility... and then to set it up in CODESYS should not be an issue. P.

Post by kunal-pinetics on USB Communication for IP Configuration & Application Update – STM32H Series PLC CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello everyone, I am currently working on a PLC device based on the STM32H series MCU, running CODESYS. At the moment, I can: Change the Ethernet IP address Update/download the PLC application via Ethernet without any issues. However, I would like to implement the same functionality over USB (or Serial via USB) instead of Ethernet. My goals are: Change the device’s Ethernet IP address via USB Download/update the PLC application via USB communication Possibly use USB as a service/programming interface The hardware platform is based on STM32H series, and I am looking for guidance on: Whether CODESYS supports USB device communication for runtime download If a custom USB CDC (Virtual COM Port) implementation is required Whether a specific CODESYS runtime configuration is needed If a bootloader approach is recommended for application updates via USB If anyone has experience implementing USB communication for runtime download or device configuration on an STM32-based PLC, I would really appreciate your guidance. Thank you in advance for your help.

Post by matt-purcell on Which Lib to use, connect to a socket with URL instead of IP address CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I have a new project and I need to connect to a TCP socket using the URL instead of an explicit IP address, myendpoint@mydomain.com Which library is best suited for this? This is for a new enterprise project, the endpoint is a server in a datacenter running some real time application. We have big IP, it will automatically reassign the IP address to the backup server if a crash occurs so an explicit IP won't work for me. I've done this in RS logix, working now to migrate that code over to codesys. Thanks in advance!

Post by malte on OPC UA multiple Endpoints CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
My CODESYS OPC UA server provides endpoints using both the hostname and the IP address. Connecting via the IP address works fine, but connecting via the hostname does not. The endpoint list shows both opc.tcp://<hostname>:4840 and opc.tcp://<ip>:4840. When using the hostname, the OPC UA client (UA Expert) fails to connect. Using the IP address connects without issues. Main goal is to conect via Python but opcua-asyncio seems to prefer the hostname. How can I configure CODESYS or my system so that the OPC UA connection via hostname also works properly or disable it completly? Running Codesys for PFC200 sl 4.18.0.0

It's already fine to use, with help of exporting/importing as PLC_Open, at least CODEX is good in editing directly at XML and/or providing changes description separately.

Post by mondinmr on First IO address of a CAADiagDeviceDefault. CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have a device CAADiagDeviceDefault: IoConfig_Globals.Axis_A In our library, we perform introspection of the Etc_SlaveDiag. In that case, we have connectors, and by searching for them by address, I can find them in the IO mapping using the offset and size provided by EtherCAT. However, a Lenze i700 drive, instead of placing the IO mapping in the Etc_SlaveDiag device, places it in a sub-device CAADiagDeviceDefault. So, when I perform introspection, I cannot find the IO correspondences. Yet, in the CAADiagDeviceDefault, I do not find the connectors and cannot do the matching. Is there a way with a pointer or reference to a CAADiagDeviceDefault to obtain the address of the first input and the address of the first output? This is because we have our own motion library with many EtherCAT devices that automatically configure the mappings, but I can't manage to do so with the Lenze i700.

Most likely your IP address is set to 172.... because you use a VPN connection to your device. Probably best to use the other Ethernet interface for your modbus communication.
