Hello, I'm using the new Codesys 3.5 SP19 Patch 4 version with CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL v4.8. Compared to the Codesys 3.5 SP19 Patch 1 version, the context menu on a Trace object no longer works. So I can no longer run the Downloader Trace command. I found out what I was doing wrong. I was entering the wrong IP in the gateway. I found that I have to enter the RPi's IP in the gateway field from this post https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/01703ca970/#d9f6 But I do not understand why it has to be the RPi's IP. Could anyone help me in clarifying this?

I started a project in codesys for a WAGO 750-8212 PLC and I am working on getting online with the controller. I can log in to the controller and I can see and control all of the fieldbus couplers that I have. I am unable to get the internal bus working. It just says that the bus is not running and when I scan or devices nothing shows up. Am I missing something important in my device tree?

It looks like it works with 4.13.0.0 indeed. However when installing the runtime, it's not possible to select the multicore option (see attachment). But once the 4.13.0.0 runtime is installed, the logs seems to indicate that the runtime is running in multicore mode. Looking at "htop" output, it seems like it actually is running on multiple CPU. This is very misleading, is it normal or is this a bug ? Thank you for your answer @eschwellinger, BR

Hello again, After looking into it, I noticed that the release note of "CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI 4.13.0.0" mentions a bug fix titled "Support Compute module 4". Is it possible to have more details about this fix from the CodeSys team please ? Because I have several CM4 boards with the same hardware revision / OS but some of them works with the 4.10 runtime and others only works with the 4.13 runtime...

I want to run the following command by linking it to the A-Axis: G01 A45.0 Which TRAFO should I use to do this? SMC_TRAFO_5Axes and SMC_TRAFO_GantryCutter3 function blocks did not work! For example, when SMC_TRAFO_5Axes is used, parameters B and C can be resolved by the transformer. However, parameter A cannot be resolved. Only SMC_Interpolator displays the value of parameter A in the SMC_Interpolator => piSetPosition.dA output. Should I drive this axis with SoftMotion commands (MC_MoveAbsolute etc.)?

Hello, I have a Raspberry Pi 3 which has a printer connected to his USB port. I have a PiFace Board on the Raspberry. I have a python script file (.py) to print a logo + a text. The script is working because when I execute it from the Raspberry terminal it works. Now, when I push a button on the PiFace I would like to execute the python script file to print. When exporting a Logical Device or Logical Exchange GVL using the native XML export functionality of the CODESYS Script API, I encounter the following error upon re-import: "Error in IEnumeratorOfTWrapper. Current. Could not cast: System.String in System.Char" I am using CODESYS V3.5 SP21 Patch 2. Is there a known solution or workaround for this issue? Notably, importing the same XML file through the CODESYS Engineering IDE's menu import works without error.

The problem has been resolved. Two findings are described below for future reference. The new RPi hw delivered during August 2025 has a MAC address from a new vendor series that is not supported by old runtimes. 4.17.0.0 or above is required. 4.17.0.0 does not pick up the correct architecture during installation and aarch64 has to be manually configured either in the GUI under operations or in /etc/codesyscontrol/CODESYSControl_User.cfg under the [CmpRasPi] section.

Hi, I'm trying to get Scaling working on my axis. An increment produces 36.6mm of movement, so I want to put the units in application as 36.6. However the docs say that I need to change bHiresMode as it doesn't show me the option for Precision in the User Interface. I'm thinking that I need to change the precision so I can enter decimal places. How can I do this, or is my thinking wrong? Thanks,

Do you think it is something in this library, that makes it possible to do the configuration in a PRG? https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/IODrvEtherCATDriver/Current/IoDrvEtherCAT.html#id1 I think the codesys modbus libraries support configuration and connection to modbus slaves without having to add the slave devices in the device tree. Just do it from function blocks inside the program. I was hoping for something similar with EtherCAT.

Hello I can't find anything to read on the subject so I'll ask here. Up to now, when adding a (for example) Modbus Master, I've selected the version <= the RT version, so if I'm using SP13 Patch 3, I can use a library that doesn't exceed this. I've no idea if this is correct, but it's always worked. Can someone explain the 4.x.x.x libraries that have appeared; are they tied to a RT version? The controller I use is now at SP18Patch60, so should I continue to use 3.5.xxx or change? thanks

When trying to move my axis using any group move instruction I get the following error: SMC_CP_INVALID_PATH_ELEM and axisgroup goes into errorstop state. I tested my methods thoroughly which makes it hard for me to debug. Are there some hidden rules I need to abide to? How would one go about debugging a custom robotics model, since the information inside isn't accesible. Is it possible to find the source of where the function breaks? Let's say I have a CODESYS controller (PLC) with a runtime version around 3.5.19. If I use development software version 3.5.21.40 or a later version that will be released in the future for programming, could there be any problems or malfunctions in the controller's program execution or in the execution of the new, updated function blocks from the newer software? I mostly work with servo-based motion applications, so please keep that in mind when answering, and provide a detailed answer so I don't have to email you again about this topic.

Hi, My problem is with raspberry pi 4 with 2 GB ram,. Install codesys is correct but runtime works only few seconds or I can connect with device few seconds. I can ping raspberry and in system info I can see " !!!! Warning: no runtime license - running in demo mode(~2 hours)" but it is 2 minutes after runtime. When I press Start runtime I have another few seconds when I can connect to raspberry. After this time I couldn't find device. Of course, reapet start runtime works every time on few second. Raspberry is new and works with fresh install raspberry os 32 bit. Where should I start looking for solve of my problem ?

Reading between the lines of what you did not specify, it therefore seems to appear that in the programme, at the end of the movement order, there is an order to remove power and switch off the pulse modulation. if this is the case, it is obvious that the motor then remains free. If the position is to be maintained at the end of the movement, the motor current modulator, which on the PLC side is controlled via the MC_Power method, must not be interrupted. Another possibility is that in the motor drive settings, the standstill torque current is set very low or zero and without position monitoring. You have to check this via the servo motor drive.
