I'm having the same issue.I think it may be something related to the device adress that changes depending on the network i'm using, but now i don't have access to the one i used while setting my user. Did you find any solution for this?

Since version 19 they changed how file access is handle. There are two solutions: 1. You change where the file is stored (need to go to: /PlcLogic/) 2. You can, if you don´t want to store at PlcLogic, add the following line in the CODESYSControl.cfg under [SysFile]: ForceIecFilePath=0 The CodesysControl.cfg is at C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\xxPROJECT_NUMBERxx\ Here the email they sent me: "with the 3.5.19 Version we changed how files are handled. See following issue: CDS-81506 - CODESYS Control SysFile system file access vulnerability. There are two solutions: 1. You change where the file is stored (need to go to: /PlcLogic/) 2. Using SDO, I can read the EtherCAT mappings and offsets from various registers like 0x1c12, 0x1c13, etc. When I obtain registers mapped in the PDOs and various offsets, I could technically access directly to the statusword, controlword, etc., if they are mapped. I have noticed that on IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Diag I can find pointers to the input and output buffers. However, although the input buffer can be easily read by referring to what has been obtained from the SDOs, it is not possible to write to the output buffer, as it is overwritten in each cycle by the data from the IOMapping task. Is there a way, knowing an instance of IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Diag, to obtain the pointer to the first data in the IOMapping? The offsets are identical to those of the PDOs, but obviously the data is a copy. For me, the cleanest thing would be to access the pointers on IOMapping, for DS402a devices to retrieve the key data and point them to internal references. I need to know this as, having developed our own motion library, I would like to simplify the initial setup by eliminating unnecessary and nonsensical mappings that can lead users to unnecessary errors. In the current version that we have been using for years, we have to map everything manually. I would like to pass only the slave reference to the FB_init constructors and eliminate the mapping.

Hi, after updating CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL from patch level 18 to 21 (currently 4.21.0.0), the IoDrvGPIO driver ("GPIOs B+/Pi2") can no longer open any GPIO chip on a Raspberry Pi 5. Log output on login: Could not open GPIOChip0. Access to path /dev/gpiochip0 not allowed. Add /dev/gpiochip0 to permitted paths in configuration file if required Could not open GPIOChip4. Trying to open GPIOChip0 Access to path /dev/gpiochip4 not allowed. Add /dev/gpiochip4 to permitted paths in configuration file if required Could not open any GPIOChip. System details: Raspberry Pi 5, 32-bit Raspberry Pi OS (armv7l), kernel 6.12.47+rpt-rpi gpiodetect correctly shows gpiochip0 [pinctrl-rp1] (54 lines) as the RP1 GPIO controller Runtime: CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL 4.21.0.0, Runtime Toolkit SP21+ This worked without issues before the update to SP21. I've tried adding the following to CODESYSControl_User.cfg without success: ini[CmpCharDevice] Linux.DevicePath.1=/dev/gpiochip0 Linux.DevicePath.2=/dev/gpiochip4 Could you tell me the correct section/key to whitelist /dev/gpiochip0 (and /dev/gpiochip4) for CmpCharDevice? I suspect this is part of the general security hardening introduced around SP21 (similar to ForceIecFilePath for SysFile, or the new Gateway "accept local clients only" default), but I couldn't find it documented anywhere. Trying the web-version of trend-data. This seems to be a impressive tool, but I lack/cant find a number of what I would think are important parts. There does not seem to be a way to get away from the dot.notated variable naming in the legend.. A developer might want the dot-notation but an end-customer will surely not. For instance I want to display 12 temperatures, instead of t1, t2 etc.. they will be named. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_a gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_b gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_c gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t2_a .. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t4_b.. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t4_c.. Quite a lot of unnecessary text/data taking space from the actual trend => Is there a way to access/interface the legend-data programmatically so I can change the presentation/naming?

Is it possible to get scroll bars to show when displaying a web visualization in V2.3? I've got some big pages that I can scroll around when using the in-built visualization but when they are displayed in IE i can't seem to scroll around. All I can do it drag the window bigger onto my other display to get access to the extra area. I've also tried zooming the page out in IE but this doesn't seem to work at all.

i know, this is the reason for us either. PLC-Handler is to big, and only available with additional Contracts/Costs. OPC-UA is to slow for us. As described, there is a solution available, but im not allowed to post them here. i would prefer you send a message at codesys store by "have a question" or similar called. Not sure. Or, if an Codesys-Official Member allows to share that informations, i can give you the right hints.

Hi if you add in (ttyAMA0 should fit to your HAT's device [SysCom] Linux.Devicefile.1=/dev/ttyAMA0 to /etc/CODESYSControl_Usr.cfg since 4.12.0.0 version /etc/codesyscontrol/CODESYSControl_Usr.cfg then access in CODESYS with Com1 should do it. Keep in mind that only adapters work (for RS485) which do determine the send/receive direction in hardware

To prevent ambiguous use of this enumeration value. Let's say another ENUM is available in your project or in another library which has an enumeration value AM_WRITE, then it is not clear which AM_WRITE you want to assign. By this qualified access to the SysFile.AM_WRITE, it is completely clear for the compiler.

Add the object "POU for Implicit Checks" to your application, then select "Bounds check". This will create a function which is automatically called each time an array is write accessed. In the function you can handle "out of bounds" situations. By default it will be limited to its lower or upper bound.

this is not easily. From Point of SL-Licenses Codesys didnt provide the informations how to do. We created an own CDS-Component for that Behaviour. This Informations are available for OEM, if you are an OEM you can find the Informations in the RTS-Documentation.

Hello, I'm trying to access the group IDs of the connected user. "CurrentUserGroupId" var shows only the first group ID that the user is assigned, I need the other group IDs that the user is in. With that I could make an array of varying size, but would still have to define the array type in the function's declaration VAR_IN_OUT stArray: array [*..*] of <pre-defined data type> END_VAR I wanted a function that could take an array of any type (e.g., a structured VAR) as an input. That way I could call it in multiple POUs to handle different arrays structures.

hi all I have a FB with IN/OUT variable. Inside the FB, I want to get the address of the IN/OUT variable. If I use __SYSTEM.VAR_INFO, I get the address of the FB copy rather than 'external' variable. VAR_IN_OUT MyVar: bool; END_VAR VAR Info: __SYSTEM.VAR_INFO; END_VAR Info := __VARINFO(MyVar); This give me the address of MyVar but I actually want the address of the variable passed to MyVar Any clues please?? thanks, ph

Hi, in my experience, the best options for such a case could be: 1. Pass a FunctionBlock via VAR_IN_OUT, containing all variables, mehods and properties needed for the logic of this graphic element (be aware of implementing correcly both get and set accessor for properties) 2. Pass an Interface via VAR_INPUT, of which you can use obviously only Properties and Methods. This is much more elegant for me. Here, you can just pass directly the instance of a FunctionBlock implementing such Interface as input. Hope you'll find this suggestions useful.

Hello, I have a project using some EPEC PLC's. Some of them are programmable using Ethernet and some use CAN. We currently have a Raspberry Pi that is acting as a gateway to the Codesys Automation Server and is successfully working for the PLC's communicating over ethernet. I am trying to achieve a similar result for the PLC's that have only CAN access. I have PEAKCan drivers on the Pi, and can successfully send/receive messages. But the Gateway does not recognise the PLC when scanned from the Automation server online. Is there a library or service that exists to translate the CAN messaging, to the Edge Gateway, and be able to achieve remote access with the Automation Server? Or is this not possible without creating something custom? Cheers, Daniel
