I have added a models in SiOME which a software to design nodes and add instances. and created a resultant xml file. I tried to import the xml file to Codesys through OPC UA information model Repository the problem i don't know how to view my objects which i have designed. and map it to my PLC to make viewable on my server UaExpert. I watched the tutorial video https://youtu.be/aJhzN3Uk-Do?feature=shared. But it only give you how to add the Information model, and my resultant model doesn't have information type. So how in Codesys i can view a model which i have designed in SiOME and mapped my instances (Objects, Variable or methods) with my Variables in PLC I saw people do it in Tia Portal or other Software, but i have no clue how to do it on CODESYS

The simplest way to do this would be to add a bus coupler dedicated to the expansion IO. The EtherCAT network does not fault when modules connected to the expander are not present. In the image below, nothing below the red line is present in the network - with the network working correctly. In your "base" project, simply include all of the possible modules, and then plug them in as you add pumps to the system. I would also highly recommend against the use of direct addressing. There are other methods to accomplish this, including using the "Optional" checkbox for modules and explicitly addressing them. Hello, I'm coming from Siemens (TIA) world and currently learning Codesys. I'd like to know if there is an option to add external txt file with ST code for creation of a function block and then use this file as a source file from which FB will be generated? For example, in TIA, there is an option add external source file to the project structure and then use option "Generate blocks from source". This would create a FB. Does Codesys have something similar? This external source file would look like this: FUNCTION_BLOCK Scaling VAR_INPUT x, k, n : REAL; END_VAR VAR_OUTPUT y : REAL; END_VAR VAR END_VAR y := k*x+n; END_FUNCTION_BLOCK

When I create a new textlist in Codesys 3.5 SP19 Patch 5, it wont appear in the dropdown menu at Rectangle element > Dynamic texts > Text list. If I just type the name of the textlist to the field (in quotes), I get an error saying that some file is missing. Any good ideas what to do and what is going on. I recently updated to that version and I only now noticed this when I needed to add a new textlist so Im quite screwed with this not being able to add text lists. While im typing this, I tried copying an existing list and modifying it and it seems to show. Any ideas?

Hello. In Codesys version 3.5.19.50 when comparing two projects that have an "Alarm Configuration" obj from the Alarm Manager library vers. 4.5.0.0 the attached error pops up. This originally happened with two projects that I converted from vers. 3.5.17.30 so, thinking it was some conversion issue, I created two clean projects directly in 3.5.19.50 using the Standard Project template and only added the Alarm Configuration objects in them. The result is the same and the only way I found that allowed me to compare them is by deleting the incriminated object in one of the two projects. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Best regards

Dear all, I've just started to migrate some of my ancient projects to SP20. There is one strange error (?) I have noticed so far. In a method call, depending on the circumstances I would like to return reference to an object, or an invalid reference: METHOD Add_EVT_OUT : REFERENCE TO FB_MSG VAR END_VAR IF __ISVALIDREF(refMSG_Entry) THEN Add_EVT_OUT REF= MANAGER.AddMsg_EVT_OUT( refMSG_Entry, _Get_EVT_Message(MSG_EVENT.OUT), _Get_EVT_AddCode(MSG_EVENT.OUT) )^; ELSE Add_EVT_OUT := 0; END_IF So far setting a reference variable to 0, did this. But now, the expression Add_EVT_OUT := 0; gives an error: [ERROR] DB_WTP_370: Add_EVT_ACK MSG_TRIGGER_EXT: C0032: Cannot convert type 'BIT' to type 'REFERENCE TO FB_MSG' Naturally... I can write: Add_EVT_OUT := DWORD#0; But is this the correct way? Is there any constant I could use instead, like "NULL"? Or this is totally wrong and to be avoided?

Hello, I'm trying to connect with a Wago TP600 HMI but without success. I'm using codysis 3.5 SP19 patch 7 (SP20 block all the time) and the official wago package is installed. However, when I scan and select my device, I get a message saying that the device doesn't match the project's device object with the possibility to update the device (as shown in the attached picture). however, after choosing to update i got a message that the device is not found. I've tried with a new empty project but the same results. do you have any ideas? Thanks.

Is there anybody can help me with the same problem? I have to migrate created project in ver.3.5.17.0 32BIT with runtime 4.7.0 to ver.3.5.20.0 64BIT with runtime 4.7.11.0 due to the new license. All the libraries and dependencies are updaded and there are no any errors. The first compilation and loading to the controller is being compleated well. After this being done and if I am forced to change any values or change any code in the current project, another compilation will be freezed. This problem can be solved if pressed Build/cleen or cleen all. There is another method to solve this; if project is loaded with excluded object (Alarm Configuration), repeated compilations will be done well.

Hi everybody, recently I was checking how many time consuming manual tasks I can perform with python scripts through ScriptEngine. I have in the project many devices and currently I export bootprojects for them by right clicking on Application, then go Export -> Bootproject and firmware (SD Card) and then point folder where files should be exported. It's fine if project has few devices, but I have some of them with over 30 devices and manual clicking like that is very time consuming. How can I do it with python script? So far I found "create_boot_application" method from Application object (taken by projects.primary.find('Application', True)) but it only generates .app and .crc file instead of full structure to store on SD card (FIRMWARE, USERDATA, SDCARD.INI, Version, Version.txt.sig). Should I use some method to control user interface? Best regards, Adam

Hello everyone, I have a very simple program for the process, but it's driving me crazy and I can't see the problems I'm left with: Short topological description: Dual Core Berghof controller with softmotion runtime version 3.5.19.30; Two axes with servodrive on canopen bus, clocked distributed from master; Ethercat I/O node; 2 ms ethercat task, 2 ms canopen bus cycle time; I/O objects of the canopen master and canopen drives connected to the ethercat task cycle; Problem 1: Two separate programs each manage their own axis and drive, with separate state machines. A first axis moves primarily in velocity, except having to position itself absolutely at a predetermined point at the end of the job; the second axis, on the other hand, is a paper unwinder that changes, for each job cycle, from actions in absolute, relative, and cam displacement with the master axis. But it gives me a spot problem: in some, the state change results in a drive error, which is unrecoverable except with a reinitialization via SM3_ReinitDrive(). Done a little diagnostics it seems that the FBs return the bDone, before they are completely terminated. I tried doing the machine state exchange not with the bDone bit of the FBs, but with the 'standstill' state of the axis. It didn't seem to change anything. Problem 2: During the use SM3_ReinitDrive() I get the erro in the log: "NetID 0: SDO read error for object 16#607C..." Assuming that the device involved it's one of the two servodrive, (no others device are present in the network), I don't found any object 0x607C in the 'possible object list in/out' of the two drive, and I don't understand where this object can be listed. So any ideas and suggestions regarding these two issues will be very, very welcome. If you need the source project, I am willing to send it.

Hello, I have found a script for printing device tree in Codesys project. This script is available as code snippet as an exmaple for using Python in Codesys. However I feel main documentation is lacking. For example, where can I find that object has "is_device" attribute? Of course I need to remove check: if treeobj.is_device: But simply removing this test condition will not produce what I want. In the datasheet, I can find the parameters required for the message (Service, Class, Instance, etc.). I see the function block "Set_attribute_single" in the "EthernetIP Services" library, but I'm not sure how to correctly send the index and sub-index for the IO-Link device. The class in the datasheet is 0x80 for the IO-Link Parameter Object, but it’s not present in the CPIClass enum. Is there another function block more suitable for configuring IO-Link devices? (similar to "iol_call" in PROFINET or what’s used in EtherCAT).

Hi, I'm experiencing a bug with the latest version of SoftMotion CNC library (4.17), where the 3DPath object in Visu is missing all the important properties. I've verified that a previous app I was working on with library version 4.16 did not have this issue and the issue is duplicated in that project when I update it to 4.17. I've already submitted a bug report, but for the time being I need to revert the project I'm currently working on back a revision. I've tried right clicking on the library but the option to select the version is greyed out. Can anyone help me?

Now i am running to problem, when i create instances and i want them to appear directly under the object directory, However, it always appear with me under Objects >> Device set >> Device Name in CODESYS. I need to know how i can change the directory of my instances 'inst_3' and so on. So they can be under objects directly. I tried to modify the settings, but couldn't find any leads till now. Hello, I would like to know if there is a PROFIdrive layer in CODESYS. I am already familliar with Codesys's SoftMotion on CANOpen/EtherCAT (to control PLC Open FBs), and I need the same kind of stuff for PROFINET-IO devices; In my configuration, I have a CIFX board from Hischer to enable IRT, the SoftPLC "Codesys Control RTE V3 x64", and a servo-drive from INFRANOR that implements PROFINET / PROFIdrive (with IRT) protocol. It seems that there is a limitation with the STRUCTs. Does anybody know, what’s okay to save (add to the recipe) and what’s not okay? Or is there another problem with my project? If I have only an array in the recipe definition everything works perfectly (see project).

If you add any device to the CANOpen Manager it will send messages to verify the device is on the network. Do you have the Enable expert settings check box checked in the General tab? have you added any SDOs in the SDOs tab? I avoid using the CANOpen Manager and just use the CAN_Tx and CAN_Rx blocks from the library.

Hello, I encountered similar problems, and it appears they were linked to certain add-ons. Resolving this issue turned out to be quite complex. However, we managed to find a solution by downgrading both the "CODESYS Communication" and "CODESYS Recipes" components via the CODESYS Installer, accessible under the "Tools" section.

Codesys has a motion libraries (SoftMotion), but you need to buy a licence keys for them to work. the most basic one is SoftMotionLight. you just have to select your drive in the device view and add a SoftMotionLight CiA402 axis. then the library is added to your project. You can use the SML_* motion FBs and configure the axis now.

Hi, I have a "CODESYS Control Standard L" license and I use Ethercat and Profinet in my project. The project works seamlessly with two fieldbuses. However, when I add modbus_Com (Serial) or 1 OPC Tag to the project, the program throws an exception (Application app=Application has invalid license metrics!). My license should support 10*Modbus and 512 OPC Tags. Why might this problem occur?
