This is a phenomenon that I have seen myself and with others. Texas instruments wrote an application note with this same issue. They noted with Codesys 3.5.19.10, that selecting CPU 1 as the EtherCAT task showed CPU spiking improvements over the performance of cores 0, 2, and 3. It appears to be linked to EtherCAT, are you configuring for use with distributed clocks? If so, I recommend choosing the 'Based on Input Reference' option. Ohhh OK. Yeah this seems to be timing like you said. Yeah I read through that document and came to the same conclusion. I haven't tried setting them both to 200ms. Maybe I'll give it a shot. Thanks so much for your input. Its greatly apreciated.

Hi, I have a Beckhoff EL6751 EtherCAT / CANopen gateway which fails on the Canbus when the CANopen_Manager is added. Currently no devices are connected to the EL6751. If I add a device, I get the same issue. If I add a device and connect the bus, I get the same issue. Is there something I am doing wrong? Regards Trevor

Hi, If I utilise an EtherCat master with a Beckhoff EK1100 coupler on a Win10x64 target I get a "Network Adaptor could not be opened" error. I have tried this on both a VM and a physical PC. Has anyone experienced this issue? Regards Trevor

Good morning, I'm using a raspberry pi3 as plc with the runtime 4.9.0.0. My program has many of retrain variables but when an update is performed the retrain variables comes back to default values. Is the a way to backups the retrain variables n a csv file? Is still the way to restore them from the csv? Thank you for helping Luca

I've post the Versions in the Attachments. It seems with htop, that there is a very high CPU Load. In the Log I can see nothing, as mentioned above I've to restart the PLC with Power off/on and the log in codesys was deleted. Or what do you mean with plclogger?

Hi, Got same problem, appeared after 4.3.1.0 update. Prabably problem is in performance. I am using virtual machine, so adding one more core and several GB to RAM still not solved, but atleast did system more stable. Try optimise your main program or set less task interval. You can use the (open source) FTP client in Forge. This works on 64 bit systems. See: https://forge.codesys.com/prj/ftp-client/code/HEAD/tree/ As this is open, the idea is that when you use it and make improvements to the source code, that you also commit this in a branch so others can also benefit from it.

It seems that there is a limitation with the STRUCTs. Does anybody know, what’s okay to save (add to the recipe) and what’s not okay? Or is there another problem with my project? If I have only an array in the recipe definition everything works perfectly (see project).

Is there a variable indicating that a gearing or camming operation is pending? For instance MC_Gearin has beeen triggered, but starting point of master axis to start the sychronisation movement is not reached yet, so the slave axis is just waiting for this. I should be able to differ between a pending and active gearing or camming

I download an application to an ARMv7 32 bit device. I start the applicatin and it all works fine. But when i restart the device the boot app is not able to start. You can change the node id by adding the following to /etc/CODESYSControl.cfg: [CmpOPCUAProviderIecVarAccess] CustomNodeName=MyPLC123 Then restart the runtime and the new Node name will appear with the connection. I don't know if it's possible to remove the |var| from the name. I hope this helps!

I tried both 3B en 4. But every time with a lite version. I didn't try the full version of raspberry pi os. Nice to hear you are aware of the problem and trying to fix it. I'll hold on to the image from 2023-10-10 for now.

pretty sure its not. ive done a cross reference and only have one write that sets it to true. Only way i can stop it is to remove the function block call from the main pou that is running said case. its got me stumped:/

Hello. I created a project that uses SPI. This project is working well. I can see with an oscilloscope that the SPI pins are actually changing. But when I resave this project in the IDE and open it later in the system, I see a constant error. What do I need to fix? What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

I'm still on the hunt for drivers for example TCA9548 and a list or somewhere where all devices for raspberry is gathered. as this post is quite old I'm hoping/gussing that there is somewhere where work after 2021 is gathered? Or has the raspberry part if the community slowed down on creating device drivers?

So none of the images from the 64bit archive work with any Codesys Control versions? I have tried the last Pi OS with every Codesys Control version and they don't work. I was wondering if there's any stable combination of versions.
