Hello All, Does anyone have experience configuring a PROFIsafe communication between EL6910 (F-Host) and and a F-Device in Codesys? I would expect that the PROFIsafe configuration process would be pretty similar as the FSoE configuration. Although, when an F-Device is included under PN-Controller, Codesys doesn't allocate a PROFIsafe logical device automatically under EL6910, as it happens when a FSoE slave is added under EtherCAT master. I thank anyone in advance who can help me on this.

Hello, the information if your axis is already homed you could only find out direct from your Slave. In DS402 status there is no Bit defined. But some manufacturer of Drives use some optional bits or status. E.g. if you have Schneider Electric LXM32 Servo you will find this information in Bit 15. You have to check the manual of your used Servo-Drive f this information is provided in any object and then read it out with SDO.

Don't set on SVN. The service phase has started in March 2024 and will be discontinued in 2027. We actually use SVN and have to switch to GIT in the future. As I informed, there is no way of getting a single SVN or GIT licence. I' dont understand, why Codesys forces us customers to pay for an expensive Professional Edition paket from year to year using only one part of it! If you find a way to buy a single licence, let me know.

Hey guys, I have a RasPi and can control my WS2812B (addressable light strip) via Python. The lightstrip is this one: https://core-electronics.com.au/1m-rgb-led-strip-ws2812b-144-per-meter-white-strip-weatherproof.html What I would like to do is to control it directly via CodeSys through the plc on my RasPi. I know I can run a python script on CodeSys, but I'd like to avoid doing that. Is it possible, and how do I do it? Is there a library that does this?

I took a few screenshots while i was there to add to this post. its been up for about a week now but seems to happen at random every couple of weeks. fingers crossed!

i know, this is the reason for us either. PLC-Handler is to big, and only available with additional Contracts/Costs. OPC-UA is to slow for us. As described, there is a solution available, but im not allowed to post them here. i would prefer you send a message at codesys store by "have a question" or similar called. Not sure. Or, if an Codesys-Official Member allows to share that informations, i can give you the right hints.

It is well known that you need to increase the value of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow to solve the "Fieldbus lost synchronicity" issue. In the official document, IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow is explained as the toleration of a certain jitter. But the official document doesn't explain what kind of the jitter is. Is it the jitter of DC sync deviation, master timer or something else? It is very important to know the insights of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow. For example, if it is the toleration of DC sync deviation, and the official recommending value is 200us for CODESYS SoftMotion. It means maximum of DC sync deviation is 200us. It is unacceptable for some high precision motion control tasks, for example high speed gear task, etc. Increasing the value of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow will increase the deviation of motor rotation sync if it is the toleration of DC sync deviation. So, would anyone tell me what the insights of IoDrvEtherCAT.DCInSyncWindow is? Thanks.

Hello everyone, I'm hoping for some assistance with a license activation issue: a software crash has left my license in a strange state. Here is the sequence of events: I purchased a new license for the Raspberry PI from the official CODESYS web store. I opened the CODESYS and started the online activation process using the ticket number I received. During the activation, the CODESYS software threw an exception and crashed. I was not able to see if the activation completed. After restarting CODESYS, I attempted to run the activation process again with the same ticket number. The License Manager now gives me an error stating that the ticket has already been activated/used. I am now stuck because my installation is not licensed, but the activation server believes my ticket has been consumed. Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a way to have the ticket status reset?

Since version 19 they changed how file access is handle. There are two solutions: 1. You change where the file is stored (need to go to: /PlcLogic/) 2. You can, if you don´t want to store at PlcLogic, add the following line in the CODESYSControl.cfg under [SysFile]: ForceIecFilePath=0 The CodesysControl.cfg is at C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\xxPROJECT_NUMBERxx\ Here the email they sent me: "with the 3.5.19 Version we changed how files are handled. See following issue: CDS-81506 - CODESYS Control SysFile system file access vulnerability. There are two solutions: 1. You change where the file is stored (need to go to: /PlcLogic/) 2. The RTE will take the RTE license. The HMI will take the HMI license. For the Application Based Licenses, the Runtime will take the smallest which is required. So if you have an application running EtherCAT and no visualization, only the Control with support for EtherCAT is used. If you have another runtime which requires the visualization, it will take the smallest Control license which is required and available + the smallest visualization license which is required.

My setup: Codesys v3.5sp18 Raspberry Pi 4 CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL, using demo license. Zero axes (only using the interpolator). It seems that there is a limitation with the STRUCTs. Does anybody know, what’s okay to save (add to the recipe) and what’s not okay? Or is there another problem with my project? If I have only an array in the recipe definition everything works perfectly (see project).

I believe it should be available. It may be the case, that your device does not support the alarm configuration. Some smaller PLCs sometimes do not support it. You can try changing to a different device, like a Codesys Control Win, in your project, and see if then allows you to add the alarm configuration.

Initially I had the same problem in CoDeSys when selecting a newly installed TTF font, while CoDeSys was running. I solved it by closing Codesys and running it again to restart the initialization process. After that, using the new font did not pop up errors. I also had cases with files that had a ttf extension, but were actually not TrueType.

You can enable "Sync Producing" in the configuration of the CANopen Manager. Then this manager will send a SYNC message every interval you set. Depending on your PDO configuration, the CAN nodes can send a PDO on every Sync (cyclic-synchronous). If this is not possible, then as alternative you can send a low level CAN message with COB-ID 16#80.
