Can anyone shed some light on this issue im having. at random, sometimes days, sometimes weeks or months. i get this error and have to reset the plc. Im using a Weintek HMI with ethernet/ip remote io and vsd. i have tried increasing my task times and watchdogs. and when i view my PLCload in the shell its normally around 3-4%, highest ive ever seen is 7%. Nothing i do seems to help the issue. Could the HMI's Codesys CPU be getting to hot do to high ambient temp?

Hi there I am running Codesys ControlWinV3x64 (Patch 4) on my laptop for demonstration purposes but I am unable to get connection to the EtherCAT master and slave device. This is the process that I have followed: * Installed NPCap. * Added the xml file for the SMC slave device to the Device Repository. * Activated Control Win SysTray x64 and selected Start PLC. * Scanned the network for the local device (my laptop). * Added an EtherCAT master to the project and scanned the EtherCAT master for the Network and then selected the correct network. * Selected "Scan for devices" to identify the connected I/O. * Add the SMC EtherCAT slave manually because I was unable to scan it in. * Selected "Scan for devices". I have followed the steps described above but I can't scan in the EtherCAT slave or connect to it. I thought this situation was unique to the EtherCAT slave but I have also tried the same for an EtherNet/IP slave using the Ethernet Adaptor and EtherNet/IP scanner and I am also unable to scan in the device or activate the EtherNet/IP network. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Hello, I am currently scaling 4-20mA signals and the scaled output (temperature) has to be sent via modbus protocol to a tool like doctor modbus or modbus poll. I have defined my inputs as real as and the output is also real, but to send this output via modbus it has to be of word. So how will i convert real into word and then send the generated output via modbus?

Hi, when it comes about license, I used INVTmatic Studio, which uses Codesys, for programming INVT plc. I bought Codesys Modbus license, it was not expensive, and then realised that INVT didn't have License Manager option (greyed out in program) which is needed for using of Codesys License. I contacted support from INVT, but developers told me that option is still not available. So depending on environment for programming Codesys, you can or not use Modbus license. Good thing about this version of Modbus TCP it works both direction. I could send commands and receive feedbacks from drive. But communication stops after 30 mins. So I used simple version of ethernet modbus which is somewhere in INVT or Condesys library (I can check tomorrow) which works only one way. I could send cmd to drive, and control it, but didn't have any feedback, like some readings back in PLC. which is bad, but at least I could start it and it didn't fail after 30 mins.

Hi darwin03, when all joints are 0°, then the 6-axis robot is in a so called singularity. This means that it is in a special position where it cannot move freely in all directions but is restricted by its own construction. For a simple example, imagine a scara robot where the arm is fully stretched. In this position it cannot move freely. You can find a lot of information about robot configurations in the www. As far as CODESYS SoftMotion Robotics is concerned, this page holds the most important links, look for the error SMC_CP_CONFIGS_DIFFER: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20SoftMotion/_sm_robotics_errors.html The most important rules: 1) CP movements (linear moves, circular moves, cartesian jogging) cannot change the configuration during the movement. Both start- and endpoint must be in the same configuration. This excludes also the edge case that one or both of them are in a singularity. 2) PTP movements can move through singularities and cross configurations without problems. 3) SMC_SetKinConfiguration can be used to set the configuration of the axis group. I'm having trouble with the initial loading of recipes. I can create them and load one or the other, but when the program restarts the recipes are not listed. I'm calling: RecipeManCommands.ReloadRecipes and then RecipeManCommands.GetRecipeCount which returns 0 recipes. None of the methods returns error and if i call them again after RecipeManCommands.CreateRecipe RecipeManCommands.ReadAndSaveRecipe getRecipeCount returns the number of recipes created. When i restart the system, once again they are not listed even though the recipe files are there. Any ideas? Martin Btw, Codesys 3.5 SP 16 Path 9

hi, anyone else having trouble with opc ua in codesys sp20? i get Error 'BadIdentityTokenInvalid' was returned during ActivateSession i have tried both windows x64 runtime and linux runtime. i have created a completely new codesys project for this. in each of them i have only added the symbol configuration and selected one tag. i have tried several opc ua client, like ua expert, nodejs and python. all return Error 'BadIdentityTokenInvalid' was returned during ActivateSession so the problem must be the opc ua server.

I noticed something strange in the trace: one of the variables (specifically parts.servoFeeder.m_pathGen.m_acPos) is showing an absurd or unrealistic value—something around 4E+18. However, when I check the same variable in the watch window, it shows a normal and expected value (around 506). Do you know why there is this discrepancy between the trace and the watch? Could it be a bug in the trace tool? Thanks in advance!

I have a case statement running a process. during one of the steps it has started calling a bool var that is 2 steps further on in the case? i have even tried //commenting it out but it still turns on at the same point in the case. i have also run a trace but cant see anything that would trigger it. Dear All, This is regarding Codesys Virtual control SL demo version. I am facing one issue. First I will describe the steps what I have followed till now. 1. In a PC I have Windows OS. Here Codesys IDE is installed, and also using the installer option of IDE I have also installed Codesys Virtual control SL. 2. A edge-gateway is also running in the same windows PC as local host. 3. Next I have a seperate PC with Ubuntu OS with docker installed. This machine is in the same network. 4. Now I have created a project in Windows machine using device "Codesys Virtual control SL". 5. In the Ubuntu machine I am running the Codesys Virtual control SL as docker and it is using the ubuntu machine network only. 6. Next using the localhost edge-gateway when I am searching the virtual control SL docker it is able to detect it. (screenshot attached) 7. But after creating the creadentials it is telling No Device is responding. 8. I have also checked the wireshark logs and able to see that in destination port 11740 data is coming. 9. From windows PC telnet ip 11740 is also working. 10. Hello, We are trying to implement an automated method of adding of a certificate and private key to the Windows certificate store for encrypting CODESYS projects. We want to do this so that users do not have to deal with details of certificates at all and to prevent user error. We are keen on enforcing strong private key protection since it ensures that a password is required for the certificate to be used to decrypt a CODESYS project. These bag attributes are as follows: Bag Attributes localKeyID: 01 00 00 00 subject=C = xx, ST = xxx, O = xxx, OU = xxx, CN = xxx issuer=C = xx, ST = xxx, L = xxx, O = xxx, OU = xxx, CN = xxx -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- [encoded certificate] -----END CERTIFICATE----- After using this certificate with bag attributes to encrypt a CODESYS project, it can’t be decrypted, showing this error: "The specified project could not be loaded. Possible reasons might be: - The project file is corrupted or invalid - The project has been saved with a newer version of the programming system. If this is the case, you can open the project in the corresponding version. Choose "Save as..." with the appropriate storage version, and retry again. - You may not have the necessary permissions to lad the project" We know that the bag attributes are causing the issue because if we manually edit the certificate file to remove them before using the certificate to encrypt a project, the project can be decrypted as expected. However, we are unable to automatically enforce strong key protection using this method. Hi, I'm trying to launch a continuously running python script from Codesys and monitor the script status inside the Codesys runtime (running on a Linux enviroment). For now I'm testing with the below to emulate a continuously running Python script: #test.py i = 0 while True: i += 1 I'm able to successfully run the script using SysProcessExecuteCommand2 (I can see the Python process running in the task manager). However, this "freezes" the Codesys execution of the task - it sits on that command and will not continue until the Python script ends. I've proven this works by using the task monitor to kill the process, then Codesys continues on happily through the task. What I want to do is use SysProcessCreate2 to set up the Python script as a background task and monitor the process using SysProcessGetState. This always results in the error "ERR_OPERATION_DENIED". I know that I'm able to execute commands (as above), so my config should be correct. Is SysProcessCreate2 functional on a Linux environment? Is there something in the config file I'm missing? Since version 19 they changed how file access is handle. There are two solutions: 1. You change where the file is stored (need to go to: /PlcLogic/) 2. You can, if you don´t want to store at PlcLogic, add the following line in the CODESYSControl.cfg under [SysFile]: ForceIecFilePath=0 The CodesysControl.cfg is at C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\xxPROJECT_NUMBERxx\ Here the email they sent me: "with the 3.5.19 Version we changed how files are handled. Dear forum, We are currently doing some research on the Codesys KNX implementation (https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-knx-sl.html). We almost have it working but we are missing the last part. The setup: We have a Codesys virtual control container running on docker (4.17.0.0), the I/O is running over an Ethernet IP coupler (Weidmüller), and this is running fine. As far as I’m concerned this tells me that the ethernet device is working properly (the container has access to the outside world, including multicast). Underneath this ethernet adapter the KNX module is added (see picture). In the KNX device (Codesys) 2 input variables are added (see picture), and these are exported to ETS (ETS 5). In ETS A Codesys KNX device has been imported and the Codesys export was imported, afterwards the group addresses are attached to the variables (see picture). Afterwards this configuration is downloaded to the Codesys controller (Container) via ETS. ETS asks for the pressing of the programming button, when the virtual programming button is pressed the download starts and finishes without any errors. This tells me that ETS is communicating with the Codesys controller, and that the download process is ok (so far so good). Now the part where we are struggling with, somehow we need to convert the KNX TP to KNX IP. For this we have the following interface: Zenio KIPI SC (https://www.zennio.com/product/kipi-sc/) this is a KNX TP to IP interface. We have the following setup for this device (see picture) (an IP in the same subnet is used). We tried multiple combinations of IP addresses but the TP devices are simply not communicating to the Codesys container. Does anyone has any advice on what to try next. To make the question more explicit how can we link the TP bus to the Codesys device? Kind Regards Alex
