Post by timvh on Display minutes as hours & minutes CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
You could use the Modulo function to get the minute part from the total minutes: Minutes := TotalMinutes MOD 60;

Your function block instance is not called, so the code is not executed to set the light on when the button is pressed.

Post by eguerra on Error in ScriptingEngine Docs - create_pou() CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
In the ScriptingEngine documentation there seems to be an error (or missing information) in the ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer part ( https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/ScriptingEngine/ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer.html#ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer.ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer ). The description of the function create_pou() doesn't specify the correct arguments requested, it only says create_pou(type: SpecialPouType) and a script using the documentation definition of the function will raise an error. I tried passing the function arguments similar to the ones specified for the create_dut() function and it seems to work fine: create_pou(name, PouType) , name : str UPDATE: The offline help has the correct definition IExtendedObject<IScriptObject> create_pou( string name, PouType type = PouType.FunctionBlock, Nullable<Guid> language = null, string return_type = null, string base_type = null, string interfaces = null )

Hi, you can call the decoder function block in a loop and/or decrease the task cycle interval of Task_PATH.

You can simply excute the function block SMC3_ReinitDrive to the referred axis.

Post by felipemsgarcia on Axis EtherCAT address CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, Thank you for your answer. I'm afraid I was not clear on what I was trying to achieve. I'm trying to change parameters and command axes from inside a function block and the first thing that came to my mind was pass both the EtherCAT slave and axis to the function block (as image attached). But, I believe it's worse than just pass directly the EtherCAT slave address to the function block (is it???). However I was wondering if there was a way to get the EtherCAT address directly from the axis, so I don't need to pass the EtherCAT slave nor the EtherCAT address to the function block. Thank you again!

Post by george32 on Learning ST in an object-oriented way. CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Dear all, I am currently creating a program in the ST language. Because the program is starting to grow nicely I would like to switch to a more object-oriented way of programming. (Like for example in Python). By surfing the internet I found out that Function Blocks is the best method for this. Now I would like to delve further into this, with all the possibilities that Function Blocks have only I cannot find a clear course, explanation of what everything is around the function block thing and how to approach everything. I find the standard documentation around Function Blocks rather abstract and the examples are minimal. Therefore I am looking for a page/course/document explaining object oriented programming in Codesys (or other PLC programming environment). Do you have any recommendations on this?

Post by tvm on Cannot pass array of constant size to a function as a reference CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
maybe this would be a better approach, then you don't have to pass the constant at all. FUNCTION fun : INT VAR_IN_OUT arr: ARRAY[*] OF INT; END_VAR VAR lower: DINT; upper: DINT; END_VAR lower:= LOWER_BOUND(arr, 1); upper:= UPPER_BOUND(arr, 1); see here as well https://help.codesys.com/api-content/2/codesys/3.5.12.0/en/_cds_datatype_array/

Post by tvm on Cannot pass array of constant size to a function as a reference CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
It will be a reference, because it's a VAR_IN_OUT. it's a little weird debugging the array online. It just shows as a POINTER TO INT, and you can't actually see the array from the function side. But you can still work with it as a normal array, not a pointer.

Post by scarter on Bit / Bool data types in function parameters CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Any reason BIT and BOOL data types are not interchangeable? Trying to make a function which takes a BOOL IN/OUT parameter (Not allowed to use BIT) In the main logic if I make a DINT variable, and want to use each bit on different functions CODESYS will not allow it.

Post by siscu on Raspberry Pi: List of available example applications CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Could this be turned into a library? I'd love for a way to have the main program call a function block method using the program's I2C_master device. I assume I should be passing the master as a variable for the function block, but I don't see how that could be achieved

Post by kumareasu on Persistent variable storage CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Is there any function function block which can store the persistent variable in HDD/SSD immediatley. My observation is that the persistent variable is getting stored when we shut down or restart the system (Windows+ CoDeSys RTE SL ). the persistent variables are not stored in HDD/SSD, if I power off the system without proper shutdown. Seeking your feedback.

Hi, Is it possible to know of an output of a function block is used? I've found there is a way to find unused inputs of a fb, through the attribute: is_connected. But I'm wondering if the same can be done for an output. Thanks in advance!

Hello, many thanks for your reply. I checked the logs. It seems that dll is not loaded. However other dll such as the Webserver are loaded. Could you tell me what I need to do such that my dll is loaded. (Furthermore I changed the C-Function a bit. I used the M4.exe from the SDK.) Many thanks.

Post by nico-hefr on Python script command for "Access Control" CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi everyone, I use Python Script to generate some POU in Codesys V3.5 SP19 and I would like to limit the "Access Control" to them thanks to the Python command. Is there any commands that allow to edit the "Properties... >> Access Control" of the POU? The other possibility is to set the permissions with "Project >> User Management >> Permissions... >> Project objects >> Modify >> ... >> myPOU", but I did not find the related Python commands. Otherwise, is there a global setting that allows to set the permissions by default? For example, Modify = Denied for everyone user by default. Thank you in advance for your help, Nico

Post by alimans on OPC-UA Server, Symbol Set: Raise an error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi everyone, I just created a very simple library without any code and, added it to my very simple project. after adding this library, I get an error when I try to open "Symbol Set" in "OPC UA Server" in "Communication Manager". Here is the code of my POU in the library: FUNCTION_BLOCK POU VAR eCommand : (CMD_NONE:=0, CMD_RESET:=-1) INT := CMD_NONE; END_VAR Attached is the error that I get. I also noticed that by removing the enumeration variable above (eCommand), I can open the "Symbol Set" again. Anybody has any idea why this error is raised and how could I use enumeration variables without error in "OPC UA Symbol Set"?

Post by jst69 on Python script: Launch Codesys, Execute Script, Exit Codesys CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Dear all: Question about scripting: I am creating a .NET program that is supposed to Open codesys, open template project, export a bunch of pou, then exit codesys. Launch works, Open project works, Export works, But how do i tell codesys to close itself? I can tell windows to terminate codesys, but i would prefer to do it properly. from __future__ import print_function import sys import System proj = projects.primary # We're interested in POU nodes: POUGuid = Guid("6f9dac99-8de1-4efc-8465-68ac443b7d08") # We collect all POU nodes in that list. pous = [] # From the parent node on, we recursively add POU nodes: def CollectPous(node): if node.type == POUGuid: pous.append(node) else: for child in node.get_children(): CollectPous(child) # Now we collect all the leaf nodes. for node in proj.get_children(): CollectPous(node) # We print everything just to know what's going on. for i in pous: print("found: ", i.type, i.guid, i.get_name()) # And now we export the files. for candidate in pous: # We create a list of objects to export: # The object itsself objects = [candidate] # And sub-objects (POUs can have actions, properties, ...) objects.extend(candidate.get_children()) # And the parent folders. parent = candidate.parent while ((not parent.is_root) and parent.is_folder): objects.append(parent) parent = parent.parent # Create an unique file name: if len(sys.argv) == 1: filename = "parent\\%s.export" % (candidate.get_name()) else: filename = "%s\\%s.export" % (sys.argv[1],candidate.get_name()) # print some user information print("exporting ", len(objects), " objects to: ", filename) # and actually export the project. proj.export_xml(objects, filename) proj.close() print ("script finished.") System.exit(0) // Dont work .NET: public static void Export(string path,string proj) { if (checkSettings()) { var p = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); p.StartInfo.FileName = Properties.Settings.Default.CSVersion +"\\CODESYS\\Common\\CODESYS.exe"; p.StartInfo.Arguments = " --Profile=" + qoute(Properties.Settings.Default.CSProfile) + " --culture=en" + " --project=" + qoute(path + "\\" + proj) + " --runscript=" + Properties.Settings.Default.LastOpenProjectPath + "\\INPUT_DATA\\SCRIPT\\Export.py" + " --scriptargs:" + qoute(path) ; p.StartInfo.RedirectStandardOutput = true; p.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false; p.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = false; p.Start(); p.StandardOutput.ReadToEnd(); p.CloseMainWindow(); p.Close(); } }
