Hallo all I would appreciate some clarifications regarding the appropriate runtime system to use. I've been using 'KUNBUS CPUs' and 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL' for the last 4 years. Recently, there have been some changes in the CODESYS licensing policy. [ https://store.codesys.com/en/howto_applicationbasedlicenses ] My questions are mainly two: 1) If I need to start a new project using 'KUNBUS CPUs', which is the correct runtime system to use. 2) Old projects built using 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL' should be updated to another RT system? Current RT systems ... a)CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL b)CODESYS Control for Linux ARM SL c)CODESYS Virtual Control SL May I count on receiving an explanation to understand the differences among the runtime systems listed above? I am running ubuntu on a raspberry pi, and installed an application based license Control Basic M on it, it runs a demo program fine, does not timeout etc. however, when I add a modbus TCP device, I start getting errors: <Entry severity="error" component="CmpApp" user="nobody" timestamp="12/18/2023 3:49:42 PM" infoId="24">Online change denied. Application Application is in exception state!</Entry> <Entry severity="error" component="CmpApp" user="nobody" timestamp="12/18/2023 3:49:42 PM" infoId="68">Download failed: Application=Application</Entry> <Entry severity="exception" component="CmpApp" user="nobody" timestamp="12/18/2023 3:49:41 PM" infoId="0">Application app=Application has invalid license metrics!</Entry> the modbus tcp slave runs, and the counter ticks up, however, when I call the variables on the %IX0.0 in my program, and try to upload the changes, I am getting the error messages which stop the program as far as I understand, the application based, M includes 2 fieldbus instances, but on the other side is fairly new, anything obvious I am missing out here?

Hello, I have been using CODESYS for a while and after updating to version 3.5.18.50 the code randomly stops with this fault. Why is that ? I have tried to locate the fault in the Call Stack but I dont know what to do now... I have updated the projects properly for the version I am using. This fault started happening after like 14 days of using the new version of CODESYS.

hi, Does anyone know how to optimise the responisiveness of the web visualisation? When i open the webvisu on my laptop it is very responsive, no noticable lag. But when i open it on the HMI (web client) at the customer site there is a lag of +-500 when opening popups etc. The hmi used is: Phoenix Contact WP 6156-WHPS full hd Arm® Cortex®-A53, 1.6 GHz qt web browser The clients performance seems to be the problem, what can i do in my project to decrease the load for the client?

hello guys i am struggling with the "new" user management i have a visu that should be visible to everyone and without the need of a login but if a user wants he can push on the login button, opening the user login visu and after he has specific elements visible. how can i achieve that? no matter what i try, as soon as a user management exists, it redirects me to the login window instead of the visu

Is there a way to access the variable in the called dialog? Example: Text Field element with PLC_PRG.myVar as Text variable. OnMouseClick configured to write variable with keypad pop-up. OnValueChanged configured to Execute ST RND(PLC_PRG.myVar,2); Rather than change myVar with each copy of this Text Field, is there a way to access whatever the configured text variable is? Generally try to stay away from ST in visu, but was curious regardless.

When trying to move my axis using any group move instruction I get the following error: SMC_CP_INVALID_PATH_ELEM and axisgroup goes into errorstop state. I tested my methods thoroughly which makes it hard for me to debug. Are there some hidden rules I need to abide to? How would one go about debugging a custom robotics model, since the information inside isn't accesible. Is it possible to find the source of where the function breaks? Any hint in the right direction would be appreciated. Best regards

Updated the Codesys Safety SIL2 package from v3.5.18.1 to v3.5.22.10 Codesys Version 64 3.5.18.0 After the update the assignment of variables from different VarGlobal lists was unstable. Selecting one group could cause another group to be deselected after code generation. I was unable to perform a compilation were all variables maintained the selection after code generation. Rolled back to the older version and the issue seem to be mostly solved.

Hey there, I am currently trying to find a good solution for the communication between CODESYS Control on Raspberry Pi and "the rest of the world", i. e. the things apart from CODESYS on my linux. My first approach was to use the c-integration. So I created a lib, defined extern fbs, compiled the code on my Pi using the SDK and put the .so into my lib project. When I try to log into the Pi and load the program, I get the error message which you can see in the attached picture. "Die dynamischen Module der C-Integration konnten nicht auf das Laufzeitsystem geladen werden" is german and means roughly "the modules from the c-integration could not be loaded onto the runtime system." Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? I will have a look at the unix domain socket thing next, as I am still in the process of finding the best solution for the communication.

Since I cannot find any documentation regarding modifying the codesys configuration file to be able to log in ms, i tried to create a new log via CmpLog.LogCreate. Below is the part of the code where I create the logger and write a test string. In the log tab of codesys I actually see the new log that was created, but it is empty, and in the folder I cannot find any files. I can't find any detailed documentation. Hello, I am getting the following error and warning when trying to download a project into a PLC: - Library CmpTargetVisu has not been added to the Library manager, or no valid license could be found - Unkown type: 'CmpEventMgr.EventParam' As far as I can see, both are included, and licensed, in the library manager (see image). What could the problem be, and how would I resolve this?

That calculation will not work the way you expect it to. If PumpFillSpeed is limitied to 0-50 then the only whole number would be 50/50 = 1 everything else is 0.0-0.9999... and since you are using word and integer only 50 would work since there is no representation for mantissa in integer values. Declare a temporary real variable and do the calculation and then do a REAL_TO_WORD in the DRV2Speed assignment.

there is a new problem with latest bootloader version. The problem seems to be: Version from2024-04-20 does not work-> 2024-01-15 version works the workaround is a rollback to January version: cp /lib/firmware/raspberrypi/bootloader-2712/stable/pieeprom-2024-01-15.bin ./pieeprom.bin rpi-eeprom-config pieeprom.bin > bootconf.txt rpi-eeprom-config --out pieeprom-new.bin --config bootconf.txt pieeprom.bin sudo rpi-eeprom-update -d -f ./pieeprom-new.bin sudo reboot

Thank you very much for your reply. That helped, it is editable if the library is at root level. Unfortunately, I noticed that I am not using the MQTT client SL, but the AzureMQTTClient from the Azure IoT Hub Client SL library. At first glance, there is no parameter to increase the message size. Does anyone know how to increase this in the library or is it simply not possible here?

Get a different sensor that is 0-10V and 0-350 Bar. There is nothing you can reasonably do to boost the range of the sensor, and the PLC will only ever be 0-10V. Take away is to always be careful to match the sensor and PLC input ranges in the future.
