I am looking to read in the absolute position of a yaskawa servo drive Sigma 7 that is using absolute encoder. It looks like yaskawa outputs this across there CN1 I/O connecter and during operation just outputs encoder pulses. But at boot up transmits the Multiturn data position and the Position within one rotation (pulse train) on two different wires. Once the drives are enabled it just uses incremental pulses. Does any one have experience with what IEC blocks to use to read this information in. I attached the Yaskawa Manual section that talks about the format.

If you mean you want to shift the Origin or Zero position of your axis, you can try MC_SetPosition and set the position to 0 (if you want to take the current active position and make it the new 0. Adjust this number accordingly if/as needed). This means the servo drive keeps it's current origin position, and Codesys applies an offset to the servo drive position in the logic. You can also use the homing function of your servo drive using MC_Home and have your drive configured to set the current position as origin when it receives a homing command.

Hello, I noticed that version 0.0.0.6 is now available, so I tested it using CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 7 and SoftMotion 4.17.0.0. While the project compiles and downloads without issues, I encountered a problem with the 'Enable: GPIO pin number that is set when the axis is enabled (with MC_Power) (0: not used)' functionality — it no longer works (HIGH level not present at the output pin). I observed the same behavior with version 0.0.0.5, whereas version 0.0.0.4 functions correctly. Could you help me identify what might be causing this issue or suggest how to resolve it? Thanks.

Just downloaded stand alone setup, deleted old installer and installed new. Looked up at the installation log - MSI (c) (48:E0) [19:33:49:483]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: CODESYS Installer. Product Version: 2.4.0.3545. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: CODESYS GmbH. Installation success or error status: 0. Installer still not running EDIT: It's working. Somehow my Windows Event Log service was disabled. I restarted the service and everything is working fine right now. Click the Start Menu or (Windows key + R) Type services.msc into the search field (Enter) Open the Services app Find a service you want to disable/enable (Windows Event Log), and double click Click Start

hello everyone I would like to try to better understand how persistent variables work. I created some boolean variables in the PersistentVars section initialized to the value TRUE. I have tied these boolean variables to toggle switches placed inside the HMI interface pages. Once the PLC program is started, the lever selectors, if operated, change their state, at least at a graphical level, but the persistent variables do not undergo any variation. Initially the above variables were declared as simple global variables, in this case the operation with the levers was correct; I then tried to transform them into persistent ones with the aim of using them as "settings saver" Thank you for support Bye

Liebe Forumsteilnehmer, hat jemand schon die Beckhoff-Multi-Klemme EL8601-8411 am EK1100 zusammen mit dem Raspberry Pi verwendet? Ich bin gerade am Testen und habe festgestellt - dass das mit dem Einstecken der Geräte nur teilweise funktioniert. - DI/DO und AI(U) lässt sich benutzen. - Den Zähler kann ich nicht testen, weil das Gerät nicht einsteckbar ist. Ich kann es zwar einstecken, aber dann läuft der Bus nicht. - Beim Encodereingang fehlt mir vermutlich ein geeigneter Funktionsbaustein um den zu betreiben. Gibts da evtl. irgendwo eine Bibliothek? Ich benutze CODESYS V3.5.19.70, habe die neuesten Gerätedateien (XML) von Beckhoff eingespielt und für den Raspberry Pi benutze ich die Version Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi 4.14. Für Antworten bedanke ich mich schon mal herzlich VG A. Hofer

In the CFC page oriendted editor, if I copy some elements consisting of an input connector, some connected logic and an output connector and then paste this on a another page then the pasted elements get inserted with an offset to the right so that the rightmost connector falls outside of the page, in the grey hatched area. So far so good. Then I mark all the elements and try to drag them into the correct placement, collectively. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE! I only get the "forbidden" icon tooltip. One has to drag & drop the INDIVIDUAL elements to move the elements around. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I want to use two OneWireMaster on a Raspberry Pi5. I'm running Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi 64SL V 4.15.0.0. Under Linux I've configured two GPIOs for 1w bus usage on GPIO4 and GPIO27. Under Linux both masters seem to work fine and I can readout both sensors connected to both GPIOs. The two masters are 'w1_bus_master1' and 'w1_bus_master2'. In Codesys I've configured to OneWireMasters with the corresponding file paths. But in Codesys the 2nd onewiremaster "w1_bus_master2" doesn't work. Status is showing "OnewireMaster : Not running" What am I doing wrong? Does Codesys on Raspberry support multiple OneWireMasters? Any help is appreciated.

I am having the same problem. 'Update Raspberry PI' disappeared from the 'Tools' menu. Using RaspberryPI 3B+, Codesys V3.5 Sp21 + RaspberryPI Package 4.16. I installed the package as Administrator, executed Codesys as Administrator I also tried to connect using the deploy (even with ssh and everything enabled on the RaspberryPi I received password denied). I used in the past the same equipment with Codesys V3.5 Sp18 and RaspberryPI Package 4.08, it was really easy. (I also did a brand new RaspbianOs installation to make sure that nothing affect the connection). Anyone, knows how to fix it? Thanks,

This is a phenomenon that I have seen myself and with others. Texas instruments wrote an application note with this same issue. They noted with Codesys 3.5.19.10, that selecting CPU 1 as the EtherCAT task showed CPU spiking improvements over the performance of cores 0, 2, and 3. It appears to be linked to EtherCAT, are you configuring for use with distributed clocks? If so, I recommend choosing the 'Based on Input Reference' option. I don't seem to be able to use an axis, which is part of an Axis Group in torque control mode. I call the SMC_SetControllerMode FB to switch from position to torque control mode, followed by the SMC_SetTorque FB to set the desired torque. This works flawlessly for most axes, however if an axis is part of an axis group, switching the controller mode seems to work without any issues, but the desired torque is never set. SMC_SetTorque does not return an error, but fSetTorque of the axis is never changed. Disabling the axis group before does not change anything, but if I use MC_UngroupAllAxes before changing the controller mode, it all works as it should. Is there no way to control a single axis in torque control, if it is part of an axis group?

Hello all, I would like to sign my boot application for my Raspberry PI. I generated the X509 Certificate and loaded it to the raspberry. It is successfully displayed as trusted certificate. However, I cannot download and start the Application to the Rasperry, due to a signature mismatch.The error message is rather clear, but I still don’t see how I can fix the issue, since the certificates on the Controller seem to mach the certificate in the user profile. If anybody finds this in the future, I managed to do it like this: scalingValue := EncoderPulseCountPerRev / ABS(AxisName.fScaleFactor); No need to use MC_ReadParameter as I am able to read this value directly from the axis object. Using an absolute value of the fScaleFactor is there in case the axis is set as inverted, in which case it would be a negative value. I was not able to figure out how to get EncoderPulseCountPerRev programatically, but since all my servos use an encoder with pulse count per revolution of 16#800000, the final equation looks like this: scalingValue := 16#800000 / ABS(AxisName.fScaleFactor);

Hello everyone, I downloaded the "Example: PLC Chat Net Base Services" example from the Codesys help site to review and try it out. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_cds_plc_chat_net_base_services.html However, when I open and compile the example program with SP21 Patch2, I get the strange error message below regarding Visualisation component, and it fails to compile. " [ERROR] visuelems, 4.8.0.0 (system): VisuFbTabControl: C0138: No matching 'FB_Init' method found for instantiation of VisuClientObjectMgr " Are others experiencing the error "C0138: No matching 'FB_Init' method found for instantiation..." when trying to compile example projects created with older versions of Codesys with a later version of the IDE? VarAccGetAddress does not return the correct address for TYPE_ARRAY or TYPE_USERDEF. When you use VarAccGetNode, it returns a proper IBaseTreeNode if you provide the full path of an array element or structure element, and it even provides the correct data type. The problem is that with TYPE_ARRAY, it returns the start address of the array rather than the indexed element. With TYPE_USERDEF, it only returns the offset of the element instead of the actual address. This causes many issues with nested structures or arrays of structures, since it requires manually calculating the address based on the parent IBaseTreeNode. See attached image and example.

you are able to do this all in one screen. It is possible to set the rights of every element to visible but not editable for the user "none". so everyone is able to see this elements, but can't do any changes. At the login button you set the rights to editable for the user "none" to be able to go to the login. Every element that should be hidden before logging in, set the rights visible and editable only for "higher" users. Hint: to change rights you are able to select more then one element and edit rights for all at the same time. Saves a lot of time! Good luck!

Does anyone have an idea how to run such a spiral on CNC smoothly without stops? SMC_SmoothPath and SMC_RoundPath don’t help. In general according to the documentation they should work on arcs but in the example only straight lines are shown and I get the impression these functions only work for straight lines. Dear Forum I have the following config: Codesys_IDE 3.5.20 Codesys_Virtual_Control 4.13 Codesys_License_Server 4.13 I know these are not the newest versions, but in my mind these should work. I have the same problem here. I have the license server installed on the host, and in the docker container(Codesys virtual control) I'm able to ping the license server. In the /conf/codesyscontrol/CODESYSControl_User.cfg I have added the following config: [CmpCodeMeter] EnableNetLicenses=1 LicenseServer.1="ip address of the host" I have tried it via the wbm web-page. I can create new license containers over there, but still no luck. I also have tried to run the docker container with the -s "server_IP" command. I have searched for some tutorial's but I couldn't find it. If anyone has some clue or can give me a push in the right direction it would be very very welcome!
