Hey thank you for the reply dkugler. I am sorry if this seems like a stupid question. I have the use current visuvariable checkbox enabled. I can see the string names of all my visualizations. I am trying to use ladder logic to be the anser to the button press using "VisuElems.CurrentVisu := 'MainScreen';. This returns an error. Any idea what I am doing wrong or could you point me in the right direction for fixing this. Thanks,

Hello, I tried using the CSV Utility SL Example from the CODESYS IIoT Libraries SL. No matter what path I try, I can not get the InitSave to work from CSVWRitersSTExample, line 2. It always gives the error 'CANNOT_OPEN_DIRECTORY'. I am running this on an Windows Azure VM, with Codesys Control Win V3 x64. I added a folder called 'temp' to my C: so that the default 'C:/temp' would work. However it gives CANNOT_OPEN_DIRECTORY. I tried updating to 'C:\temp' with the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a problem with the file transfer library. Namely, it does not work via the codesys server. (error 5; overtime, and visualization resets). They operate mostly in local chains. I tested different browsers and VPN from the router. It works everywhere, except through access from the codesys automation server. The client, having many machines under one account, prefers to keep it that way rather than use an individual VPN just to download a backup. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is? Sylwester M.

Hi everybody We are currently working on a project with an RS232 serial COM interface and using the CAA SerialCOM library. We have it working fine reading and writing data, although we have found an issue we cannot resolve and any suggestions would be helpful. We have noticed that after a while the RS232 stops working. We have tracked this down to the HANDLE hCom keeps increasing and when this reaches 1023 the COM returns an unknown error "5003". Is there a way to reset this hCom reference? Thanks Richard

I don't know the details of jsonArrayWriter, but the common behaviour for an xExecute input is that the FB starts on the trigger that it gets TRUE. In your case xExecute is never FALSE, so it is never triggered again to start the jsonArrayWriter. So change the condition from TRUE to a variable which you set to TRUE with the "xFirst". Then when the jsonArrayWriter is done (xDone), or has an error (xError), then set this variable to FALSE.

When I call the method it does not generate any error but also not reload any recipe to the recipe definition. Actually I have 6 recipe files on the directory PlcLogic. The rest of the methods work creating recipes, saving to file, etc. Does any one have the same issue? it is something to be set on the recipe manager?

This is a consequence of how computers store floating point numbers. 0.1 cannot be exactly represented in a computer. This is not a CoDeSys thing. Here is a link to a converter to show you the exact value that is represented when you use a REAL data type (which is a 32 bit float). https://baseconvert.com/ieee-754-floating-point If you really need to keep track of 0.1 increments. use INT OR DINT and then add 1 each time and assume that there is one decimal place.

Hello, This is an old topic but it might help. This can/should be solved by either of the solution below 1. disabling the "Support client animations and overlay of native elements" option in the visualization Manager (which is handy) 2. disabling the "Hardware acceleration" of the browser. Saw it happening on some clients/PC and on other it works fine with the same webvisu... (Version 3.5.19.20 with visu package 4.4.0.0) Hopefully it will be fixed it in a next release. I haven't tested the 4.5.0.0 visu packages yet. RP,

Disable the setting "Support client animations and overlay of native elements" in the Visu Manager. Activating this setting should also set a compiler define (GENERATE_OVERLAY_VISU). Maybe the compiler define is set and the feature is not activated in the visu manager or or the other way round.. rightclick the Application -> Properties -> Build https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_dlg_properties_build.html

I tested my methods thoroughly which makes it hard for me to debug. Are there some hidden rules I need to abide to? How would one go about debugging a custom robotics model, since the information inside isn't accesible. Is it possible to find the source of where the function breaks? Any hint in the right direction would be appreciated. Best regards

Yes, this point is part of my misunderstanding. Why, after the execution ot the motion FBs is set to FALSE and exsecuted at lest one time, it must be continuosly called, even if the motion control it's take from another subsequent instruction. This is what I really don't undertand, but what in fact it's happening. For example, in case of stopping a MoveVelocity FB, then Halting the motion by the related FB, the axis at spot goes into error. If there was bad trigger management, the various instructions would NEVER work.

Make sure the number of bytes matches the values in the Ethernet/IP>Assembly Information section of the Wagos web management page (expand by clicking on the +). The EDS file will probably have defaulted to assemblies 101 and 104. If you want a different assembly there is an article that tells you how to modify but seems to be unavailable at the moment. An alternative is to modify the .eds file to change the default assemblies.

Your connection configuration should look something like the attachment. Consuming assembly O->T will be the hex of the assembly you want to reference for output data - I want 102 (DO Data Only) shown in the Wago web page 102 = 16#66. Producing assembly (T->O) is the assembly you require for input data - again shown in the Wago web page - I want 108 (DI Data Only) or 16#6C Then set the number of bytes as per the data in the Wago web page too (both 2 in my case)

Both PLCs and IO modules and network devices disappeared from my list. I browsed through the Windows files and I can find them in the programdata/codesys/devices folder. The files remain there, but they are not available within codesys (same error in all installed versions) which in this case are 3.5.16 and 3.5.19. Does anyone know how I can reimport or resynchronize my devices folder again? Thanks

When you say it does not work, does nothing happen or do you get an error? I have not used this function in codesys but from my past experience with Modbus I believe the coils need to be contiguous, which may be why yours is failing? Have you tried using Write Registers (16) to do the job? Or is their data in-between you do not want to edit in the transaction?

Hello, I am trying to program CAN Bus comunication on WAGO PLC (more precisely on WAGO Touch Monitor model TP600). I am using for this purpose library "WagoAppCanLayer2" from Wago company. My IDE for programming this device is CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 2 + (64-bit). My program is written in Structured text using function blocks from previously mentioned library. Here is code of this program: 1) Variables declarations: PROGRAM PLC_PRG VAR oOpenInterface : WagoAppCanLayer2.FbCanL2Open :=( udiBaudrate := 125000 ); xInterfaceIsOpen : BOOL; sInterfaceInfo : STRING; oReceive : WagoAppCanLayer2.FbCanRx29BitFrame :=( xBufferMode := FALSE, wCanId := 16#181 ); xRecv : BOOL; sReceiveInfo : STRING; oSend : WagoAppCanLayer2.FbCanTx29BitFrame :=( dwCanId := 16#100, //was 16#201 xRtrFrame := FALSE ); xSend : BOOL; sSendInfo : STRING; oCanDiag : WagoAppCanLayer2.FbCanErrorInfo; xRst : BOOL; aSendData : ARRAY [1..8] OF BYTE; bSendLen : BYTE; TON_0 : TON; TON_1 : TON; END_VAR 2) Program body: oOpenInterface( xEnable := NOT xInterfaceIsOpen, I_Port := IoConfig_Globals.WAGO_CAN_LAYER2_DEVICE ); sInterfaceInfo := oOpenInterface.oStatus.GetDescription(); xInterfaceIsOpen S= oOpenInterface.xValid AND NOT oOpenInterface.xError; oReceive( xEnable := xInterfaceIsOpen, I_Port := IoConfig_Globals.WAGO_CAN_LAYER2_DEVICE, xRxTrigger := xRecv ); sReceiveInfo := oReceive.oStatus.GetDescription(); IF NOT xRecv THEN IF oReceive.bRxNBytes > 0 THEN oReceive.aRxBuffer[1]; oReceive.aRxBuffer[2]; oReceive.aRxBuffer[3]; oReceive.aRxBuffer[4]; oReceive.aRxBuffer[5]; oReceive.aRxBuffer[6]; oReceive.aRxBuffer[7]; oReceive.aRxBuffer[8]; END_IF xRecv := TRUE; END_IF aSendData[1] := 224; aSendData[2] := 13; aSendData[3] := 14; aSendData[4] := 15; aSendData[5] := 222; aSendData[6] := 13; aSendData[7] := 14; aSendData[8] := 15; bSendLen := 8; TON_0(IN:= NOT TON_1.Q, PT:= T#2S , Q=>xSend, ET=> ); TON_1(IN:= TON_0.Q, PT:= T#2S , Q=>, ET=> ); oSend( xEnable := xInterfaceIsOpen, I_Port := IoConfig_Globals.WAGO_CAN_LAYER2_DEVICE, aTxBuffer := aSendData, bTxNBytes := bSendLen, xTxTrigger := xSend ); sSendInfo := oSend.oStatus.GetDescription(); oCanDiag( xEnable := TRUE, I_Port := IoConfig_Globals.WAGO_CAN_LAYER2_DEVICE, xTriggerResetCounter := xRst, xValid=> , xError=> , oStatus=> , wBusState=> , wBusDiag=> , uiRxOverflowsL2=> , uiTxOverflowsL2=> , uiRxOverflows=> , uiMsgTimeouts=> , uiBusOffs=> , uiBusWarnings=> ); Program first opens comunication on CAN 2 device and then periodically try send one CAN data frame. After starting program CAN 2 interface is properly open. The xSend variable is toggling with period 2s. When program sends data an "Tx overflow" error appears. When I am watching CAN_H line on DSub 9 socket i am not able to see proper CAN frames - see screenshot attached to this message. Could somebody help me determine what is wrong with this program. Good morning everyone. In my setup I am trying to use a couple of EL7041-0052 (the EL7041 variant without terminals for an encoder) to run stepper motors without feedback. When using the softmotion drivers for the EL7041 (Rev22 and Rev24, even selecting external feedback type doesn't work) the device log shows warnings for the corresponding hardware: "SDO write error 0x1 -> 0x8012:0x08 eError 0x1 AbortCode 0x6090011". 0x8012:0x08 is the register for the Feedback Type. My best guess was setting the the register value in the start parameters to zero, but the result is the same. What else can I try to get the hardware to work? I have screenshots attatched showing the running fieldbus and the log messages. EDIT: One clarification: the "device log" that shows the error is the PLC, not the ethercat terminal. The log of the terminal itself shows neither errors nor warnings. BR Robert

Hi I am trying use the Codesys Communication Manager to set up an Opc ua server with a custom information model. As a start I am using the Boiler model available on Opc foundations github page. I am testing with a Wago CC100 and using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 6. I get the following error: Communication Manager [Device: PLC Logic: Application]: The information model http://opcfoundation.org/UA/ is required by http://opcfoundation.org/UA/Boiler/ with a minimal publication date from 15/12/2023 but the device has only a model from 15/09/2021 installed. Probably the information model from 15/09/2021 is missing in the information model repository. The error message does not make sense to me. Should it not be “Probably the information model from 15/12/2023 is missing in the information model repository”? Anyway, both versions are available in the repository. How can I solve this?

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND
or OR
.
