Hi guys. I've got a device that sends a status message over J1939 and a PLC running Codesys to receive it. This message uses a P2P PGN (as opposed to a broadcast PGN). Codesys can only read it if I mark the J1939_ECU as "Local" (see screenshot 1). The message is received correctly, that is not the problem. The problem is detecting if the message stops being received. Local ECUs have no Watchdog checkbox to detect if the message has been received in the last X seconds. In order to implement a watchdog, I've used a ReceiveWatchdog FB. The same code works well for any non-P2P message, but doesn't work for this particular P2P message I'm trying to monitor. Even if I physically disconnect the device, ReceiveWatchdog.xBusy stays True, and ReceiveWatchdog.xError never triggers due to a timeout error. Is there any caveat in the ReceiveWatchdog FB that makes it unable to monitor P2P PGNs in Local J1939_ECUs?

Despite working on it for days, I haven't achieved any results. I followed the necessary steps one by one as mentioned in the file you sent, but there hasn't been the slightest change. I couldn't find the step you mentioned "Set the 'Can Board Type' to PCAN USB" in the Word document. There is no such setting anywhere I looked. Is there a more detailed explanation available, or can you explain it in more detail? What am I missing?

Hello, according to Codesys, the problem should be solved with version 4.3.0.0. After the update to version 4.3.0.0 I had the problem that the recipes weren’t saved correctly, but loading was okay. Return to the version 4.2.0.0 didn’t change the behavior. Strange… So I uninstalled the update, cleaned the project and built it new. The known behavior of version 4.2.0.0 was back. Update to version 4.3.0.0, clean and build it new, it works. Even with version 4.2.0.0. Strange, but okay. Notice: ManCommands.LoadRecipe() no longer writes into the PLC. Just as it should be. As of now, I can use the new version.

I am trying to show a PDF in a WebBrowser element. I have the file saved to the drive of the HMI/PLC. I am linking it in the URL parameter of the WebBrowser using the following directory link. 'http://localhost:8080/$$sdcard$$/FileName.pdf'. This allows for the program to download without any errors. When I navigate to that screen it is just a white box and nothing shows. I attempted putting the same link in the show parameter and I get a loading icon on my cursor when monitoring the HMI with my PC. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, I am running Codesys Runtime by purchasing 'Codesys control for raspberry pi MC SL', I am trying to use the Variables from my GVL's. Few of the variables used as a Pushbutton form the Visualization. These 'BOOL' Variable getting unlatched automatically even though there is no write function in the Overall project. All of them are 'Read' functions, at the same time few other BOOL variable behaviors are seems to be fine. I have tried, clean all and download, serval time restarted the hardware. Happy to share any any information. Your input to resolve this issue would be highly appriciated. Version Details: codesyscontrol 4.8.0.0, armhf codesyscontrol based on SDK 3.5.19.0

I have a need to send messages between 2 PLCs and I cant use network variables (because of size limit) so I tried writing this simple test program. This seems to work fine. I can send messages back and forth when a first "Start server" and then "Connect client". See the attached image. However, if I disconnect the client by setting ClientConnect to false and try to re-connect then the TCP_Client just gives me TIMEOUT error. When I stop and start the server again, then Im able to reconnect. How is this supposed to work? Why reconnecting wont work. There is not other way of disconnecting the client than setting xEnable of the TCP_Client to false. This is just a testing program and I will try it on 2 seperate devices once this works. I'm trying to enable a CODESYS license (Soft container) on our product running ARM64 linux. Thanks for your reply @eschwellinger. Update : the is problem is resolved. It was done by renaming the User database file (/var/opt/codesys/.UserDatabase.csv) as deleting it was risky. After restart the IDE asked me to create new user. On doing that the problem got resolved. Reference for members facing similar problem/s : sudo systemctl stop codesyscontrol sudo mv /var/opt/codesys/.UserDatabase.csv_ /var/opt/codesys/.UserDatabase.csv_.old sudo systemctl start codesyscontrol

Hi i have a project where i am communicating with many modbus devices using TCP to serial. This is all working extremely well except when i turn one of the remote devices off. If i leave the auto reconnect on it still doesn't talk to the rmianing devices and if i turn Auto reconnect off it locks up. Any help would be appreciated. Paul.

Dear Edwin, we are also facing similar problem of communication failure, FB3 error in servo drives. we tried all the suggestion by Kim but still we couldn't solve the issue. we uses Codesys 3.5 sp18 patch2, servotronix servo drives CDHD and crevis GN-9483. Any suggestion / input to solve the issue please. is anyway in codesys to reset the FB3 error? -Rajan

Problem solved The client modbus cycle time was linked to a task at 500ms. Whereas the channel modbus was at 200ms. Certainly problem of packages synchronisation. I let the client modbus cycle time to be handled by itself (See attachement) --> "Use the bus cyle time parameters" (traduce from french) See attachement

Hi there, little late to the party, but you could also use the ST block for in-line ST code and implement a for loop as you normally would. ST Block is super handy if you just need a small amount of in-line structured text code without creating a new POU. Hope this helps!

Hello TCIS_Send needs to be longer than 4 bytes because idata is 28 bytes long. There may be other ways, but I would make a UNION with string/array of bytes. Write your STRING into the AsString part then copy the AsBytes part into TCIS_Send (Elements [3] to [30]) then 252 would be in [31] (I've assumed the idata is always the same length)

Today I was struggling with the same problem. in search for a solution i found this thread. Then i tried some things. It doesn't seem to be just a libraries' fault. In addition to 3.5.19, we also have a 3.5.18 version installed, the library versions of Modbus_TCP_Master and Modbus_TCP_Slave are the same, but more than 10 slave channels can be added in 3.5.18
