Post by rjwkerkhof on IIot Libraries SL --> Web Socket Client SL Pong issue

Dear all, I am developing a Web Socket Client in Codesys 3.5 using the Web Socket Client SL library to retrieve data from a third party. Connecting and reading works fine however after 40 seconds the connection gets interrupted by the server due to keepalive ping timeout. After discussion with third party it seems that the Web Socket Client SL library replys to the Ping request of the Web Socket server BUT does not add the "Application data" = 4 bytes in the body of the Pingframe to the Pongframe. Therefor the server does not recognize the Pongframe send by the Web Socket Client SL library and automatically disconnects. Is this a known issue with the libary or am I doing something wrong? Is there a workaround to add the 4 bytes manually to the Pongframe before replying it to the server? Thanks in advance, Roy

Hi, I'll link to the topic not wanting to start a new one. In the application I am building, I wanted to use the diagnostics described in the CAA Device Diagnosis library. In principle, everything is ok, except for the elements related to ModbusTCP. Despite the fact that ModbusTCP is taken into account in the documentation, it is not recognised via the interfaces. Dear forum, I currently have a big question mark above my head, and maybe this forum can shine some light on the situation. I recently updated to Codesys 3.15 SP19 Patch 6. And now I’m trying to setup the OPC-UA server, besides that I’m trying to connect to the controller with the Codesys V3 (Ethernet) protocol. OPC-UA I have installed the correct licenses on my controller (Runtime and communication). I’m able to connect to the controller with an OPC-UA client, and I’m able to browse the tags, so far so good. Therefore I’m assuming that the OPC-UA server is running on the controller. But now the strange part, in the device security settings I have set the communication Policy to BASCI256SHA256 ( I also have tried the other ones) and the communication mode is set to secure if possible (I also have tried all the other ones) (see picture). With these settings I would assume that I would only be able to login with a Basic256SHA256 policy with a client. But the opposite is true, I am able to login using the no policy mode and when I set it to Basic256SHA256 the client (UA-Expert) notes that this policy is not available on the server. I then check the certificates and I noted that there is no certificate for the OPC-UA server, I tried to generate one but it gave the error that the certificate has not been created by the device (See picture). To summarize I have no clue what is going on, and the controller does the opposite of what I would expect. Codesys Ethernet V3 driver I have a HMI connected to the same controller using the Ethernet V3 driver. But this will not connect. I tried all the Protocols (see picture), with and without the username and password enabled. But it will not connect, when I scan the available servers I can see the controller with the port number that I am expecting, so I’m assuming that the Codesys V3 ethernet driver is up on the controller. Does anyone can give me some direction, because the stuff that I tried doesn’t make sense to me. Thank you in advance

Do any options need to be enabled with the new version? Best regards Roberto Caponi

Yes, you can use the CODESYS ControlWin V3 Soft PLC. However, if simulation is enabled on the device this will disable all communication, so you need to turn off simulation to view the visualization in a web browser. In simulation mode, all IO and communication is disabled for standalone testing. In addition, make sure to set the start visualization in the WebVisu object in the application tree. I hope this helps!

I found that I have to enter the RPi's IP in the gateway field from this post https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/01703ca970/#d9f6 But I do not understand why it has to be the RPi's IP. Could anyone help me in clarifying this?

Is there a more detailed explanation available, or can you explain it in more detail? What am I missing?

I found this after looking through the Runtime Deploy Tool messages when I connect to an AMD64 architecture Successfully Connected to Target ( {MyIP} - AMD64 ) when I connect to an ARM64 architecture (Raspberry Pi5) Successfully Connected to Target ( {MyIP} - ) As clearly seen in the attached .png, the AMD64 target is detected, while the ARM64 target architecture is not detected (displayed). I assume that this is the reason why the pulldown menu isn't populated correctly.

First I tried to add this setting to the the CODESYSControl.cfg, but that does not work following the big CODESYS Control V3 Manual. It looks like it works with 4.13.0.0 indeed. However when installing the runtime, it's not possible to select the multicore option (see attachment). But once the 4.13.0.0 runtime is installed, the logs seems to indicate that the runtime is running in multicore mode. Looking at "htop" output, it seems like it actually is running on multiple CPU. This is very misleading, is it normal or is this a bug ? Thank you for your answer @eschwellinger, BR

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit festzustellen, dass Codemeter korrekt ausgeführt wird?

While I did implement a custom filter, I'd also like to point out what jinlee mentioned above...I see no reference to VU.PublicVariables.Clients.Current anywhere?? In my case I only needed to show a dialog on a "master" client, not all the clients, so I filtered by IP address to do this.

Is the SRV user is set for the CODESYS services? 2 ways to fix it: Change the CODESYSControl.cfg in the installation directory (ProgramFiles/CODESYS...). Replace %APPDATA% with something fix. Modify the service configuration in windows service manager to run as a different user (ie bot as Local system account)

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
