Has anyone tried sending live sensor data from an ESP32 into a CODESYS runtime (for example via MQTT gateway or a Modbus bridge) to trigger PLC logic? I was reading an ESP32 → MQTT tutorial (https://www.theengineeringprojects.com/2021/11/esp32-mqtt.html) that shows how easy it is to publish sensor data from an ESP32, and I’m wondering how practical that is when tying the stream into industrial control software like CODESYS. I’ve also seen Arduino forum threads where people relay sensor streams to MQTT brokers and Raspberry Pi projects that bridge MQTT→Modbus, so I’m mainly curious about real-world issues: reliability, message latency, and simple patterns you’d recommend for safe PLC integration. Hello, I am currently scaling 4-20mA signals and the scaled output (temperature) has to be sent via modbus protocol to a tool like doctor modbus or modbus poll. I have defined my inputs as real as and the output is also real, but to send this output via modbus it has to be of word. So how will i convert real into word and then send the generated output via modbus?

Hello, I have poroblem with define input in function block modbusFB.serverTCP 'dataModel', in my aplication I need starting Input Registers from 3000, and I must define this in 'data Model' but I dont now how exacly to do it. Anybody now somethin about this?

Guess you could just add two modbus slaves with the same ip, to enlarge the 10 channel limit.

Solved. Enable this feature by editing C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\Devices\89\0000 0005\4.4.0.0\device.xml (config params 9105 and 9106).
