Hi Everyone, It is a very useful feature to be able to obtain the enum value as a string with the TO_STRING operator by defining {attribute 'to_string'}. I'm curious about the impact of having profinet and Ethercat (specifically softmotion so frame at start of task?) running together. Since it's advised to access the data from the bus task should have both profinet io and ethercat on the same task? Are there any implications around this one should be aware of especially since the frame at task start is just, so far as I'm aware, an ethercat thing? Thanks

I'm trying to use an fbMsSQL_compact function to read data from an SQL database. It works with some databases, but there is one database that I can't seem to get it to work on. It's set up the same as the other databases that I've tested with the only difference I see is that the name of the database is cut off in the status message. I'll get a message like "User: User logged out succesfully from database: 12345" But the whole name of the database is something like 1234567.

Searching for it I came across this https://www.codesys.com/fileadmin/data/Images/System/Releaseinformation/Patch-Note-CODESYS-Visualization-4300.html which says it was a bug VIS-1394, fixed in Visualization 4.3.0.0. I'm using a previous visu version, what is the cause of this error, and what can be done to work around it?

Hello everyone, I encountered a problem in the simulation while working. In a test project we set up a Modbus connection. We wanted to simulate this with test values. The connection also worked, but unfortunately the values are frozen and do not report any “current data”. (Picture attached) Since these are my first points of contact with Codesys and my colleague continues to work elsewhere, I was hoping that someone here might have an idea. Hi everybody We are currently working on a project with an RS232 serial COM interface and using the CAA SerialCOM library. We have it working fine reading and writing data, although we have found an issue we cannot resolve and any suggestions would be helpful. We have noticed that after a while the RS232 stops working. We have tracked this down to the HANDLE hCom keeps increasing and when this reaches 1023 the COM returns an unknown error "5003". Is there a way to reset this hCom reference? Thanks Richard

I'm looking to automatically select a text field element in my visualization. I'm not sure if this is possible, as I don't know how to get the data on specific elements. I am wanting automatic selection of the text field, as I am using a keyboard-input barcode scanner, which should always input the barcode into the text field whenever a barcode is scanned. Does anyone know if this can be done?

From what I can find online it's got to do with electronic records and validation. My MC_Phasing FB was stuck in iPhasingState=1 and error output HIGH on one axis. I could manually overwrite the state to 0 in the instance data. During normal run I see the state change from 0 to 10 to 100 back to 0 (maybe more states that I couldnt catch with the naked eye) But - what are the states numbers and their different explenations? This is not explained in the FB guide on codesys. (the pictures show state = 0 after I reset)

Hello, im using dynamic memory allocation with the NEW()-operator. When i instanciate a class with the NEW()-operator and want to debug/watch the interface of the class, the watch is only showing "Hidden Instance" (See attached screenshot). Is there any possibility to debug the interface data ? The interface is working properly but the debugging by the watch is not possible, what is a big disadvantage. Thank you. Best Regards, Alexander

I'm looking for a smart and short way to implement initialization of visualization variables depending on the visualization input. For an easy example consider a rectangle which rests at XPos := 0 when the input state is false and at XPos := 50 when the input state is true. My visualization variables look like this: VAR_IN_OUT State : BOOL; END_VAR VAR XPos : INT; END_VAR I put this rectangle via a visualization frame element into another visualization and link a frame reference variable with the state to it. If the variable is true, the rectangle should rest at XPos := 50 and false at XPos := 0 at visualization init but how should I assign the 50 or 0 to the internal visualization variable XPos? I would need some init-methode for the visualization but I dont want a global init-method for such tasks. I want to do it inside of the visualization element but I can't see any solution for this? It would be good to be able to define ST-code within the visualization element which runs cyclic at each VISU_TASK task-cycle then I could just check the input state and change the XPos accordingly. Does someone have a solution?

Mein Setup: Ich möchte von einer WAGO PFC200 Daten per MQTT an HomeAssistant übertragen. Die Grundkommunikation steht bereits. Angenommen, man hat 50 Lichtschalter und 50 Lampen. Wie ist das übliche Vorgehen, um 50 einzelne Bool-Werte (Lichtschalter ein/aus) effizient zu übertragen? Ich finde einfach kein Beispiel, das ich als Vorlage nutzen könnte. Muss wirklich für jeden Lichtschalter ein eigenes MQTT-Topic und somit ein eigener Baustein in CODESYS angelegt werden? Also z. B. Topic/LS1/state, Topic/LS2/state usw.? Oder gibt es eine gängige, professionellere Methode, mehrere Schalter effizient zu übertragen? Zur Eingrenzung: Ich nutze die CODESYS IIoT Libraries, da die Janz Tec MQTT Library für mich bisher zu komplex ist. Kann mir jemand bitte erklären, wie Profis so etwas lösen? I had the FB called via a for loop to call a few instances of my FB I have removed it the for loop and just called them 1 by 1. Hey guys, I am trying to write a JSON. First time after login in PLC after download everthing works. But when I want to change values during runtime and try to recreate the JSON nothing happens. When forcing the xStart as an impulse i want to recreate it and see 2 as Key3 instead of 1 from the first run. Any Idea how to make this work? I hope the community can help me with this. I need to use the Visu Utils FbOpenDialog to control the opening and closing of a dialog. I have the Opening and Closing working, but I can’t get the dialogue's position to be controlled. Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I am also new to Codesys programming. My problem is this: I have a STRUCT of 64 bool and 30 real, this STRUCT is assigned in the programme 9 times. Now I need to communicate with an HMI via Modbus and I have defined the slave device and created the holding registers for communication. I would like to declare the first call of the STRUCT on the Modbus registers %QX2000.0 to %QX2007.7 for the booleans and on the registers %QW1004 to %QW1034 for the real registers. That said, I would like to change an index and set an offset of 100 bytes for the calls of the other 8 assignments, so that the result is: %QX2100.0 to %QX2107.7 for the booleans and on the %QW1104 to %QW1134 registers for the Real registers, etc. Is there a way to declare this? I am trying to generate a JSON payload populated with a value that updates for use with a telemetry system, the payload is to be published by MQTT. I have established the MQTT client and can publish a working JSON payload but I can't get the payload to update as the value (iValue) changes. I am using a timer to trigger the .SetValue function periodically, but the JSON will only give the value as it is when it is first initialized using xFirst IF statement. Any suggestions? To shutdown the TargetVisu: Add the VisuElemBase library to your project then call VisuElemBase.Visu_PRG.RemoveAllTargetVisuClients(); Exemple: PROGRAM PLC_PRG VAR xShutdownTargetVisu: BOOL; END_VAR ---------------------------------- IF xShutdownTargetVisu THEN xShutdownTargetVisu := FALSE; VisuElemBase.Visu_PRG.RemoveAllTargetVisuClients(); END_IF I tried calling RemoveAllTargetVisuClients() directly from a button mouse click event but it makes the Visu crash. So better using the code above and just set xShutdownTargetVisu to TRUE from the button. Works fine for me. To start the TargetVisu: From a cmd prompt. This will start the TargetVisu C:\Program Files\CODESYS\CODESYS Control RTE3>VisualClientController.exe --application=Application --flags=1 You can then place a .bat file on the desktop and put this inside: CD "C:\Program Files\CODESYS\CODESYS Control RTE3" VisualClientController.exe --application=Application --flags=1 exit Double clicking the .bat file will start the TargetVisu. You may need to replace the Application name by your own application name. Good to know: In the cmd above, if you replace --flags=1 by --flags=2, it will shutdown the TargetVisu.

Objective: I want to dynamically update the content with strings and JPEG images received from a TCP/IP socket. For this purpose, I am exploring the possibility of utilizing the Web Browser feature of the Visualization toolbox. Example: In a standard web browser, entering data:text/plain;charset=utf-8;base64,SGVsbG8gc3RyYW5nZXI= in the URL window will display "Hello stranger" on the webpage. Issue: When attempting to use this method in the Web Browser of the Visualization toolbox, the content does not display as expected. Instead, it shows the error:'Navigation to the webpage was canceled.'. Request: I seek guidance on how to resolve this issue so that the Web Browser in the Visualization toolbox correctly interprets and displays the data URI content. Alternative Solution Welcomed: Or, if it is possible to directly use Codesys Structured Text (ST) variables within an HTML page, this approach would also meet my requirements. I have adapted the guide to suit my needs. The data sending works since I can force the reception value Pel_WP and the data is sent accordingly. However, I am having trouble with the receiving part. The reception value is not being correctly received, and the diSocket variable shows -1. The connection between the heat pump and the WAGO controller seems to be set up correctly, as the heat pump is listed under the communication parameters with the correct IP address. I have also attached images to provide a better view of the setup. I would greatly appreciate any support or suggestions for a solution. Thank you in advance!

Hello, I would like to implement RS232 communication into CODESYS Control RTE V3. I was writing the program testing it on CODESYS Control Win V3, where it worked fine. When I changed it to RTE, the communication was on, but I cannot send the data between PLC and scale - there is no or little response from scale - mostly one time receive and that is it. On Win V3 it was working fine. I read that I am supposed to configure CODESYSControl file for a proper communication using RTE, but even after that I can not get a stable and working communication. I am attaching my CODESYSControl and CODESYSControlUser data below, as well as I am sending the code from communication function. The communication should be through COM1 port of PC. CODESYS Version: CODESYS V3.5 SP21 + (64-bit) Runtime + Version: CODESYS Control RTE V3 Version 3.5.21.0 / CODESYS Gateway V3 - x64 Version 2.5.21.0 I would be much gratefull for any help. Sincerely,
