Using Codesys runtime for Linux and thinking of the process of preparing multiple such systems for my customer. I don't necessarily have physical access to these units, they can be (very) remote. The idea so far is to use an image to install the Linux OS and codesys runtime. Application updates can be done by distribution of the PlcLogic/Application/application.app and application.crc files. But whats the most practical way of managing the license for these units? Do each controller need to be physically connected to a License Manager instance or can licenses be distributed by means of a license file for each unit? I believe that the license should be stored in soft containers for each unit. Help and insights appreciated! Per

Hello everyone, I'm currently trying to set up a FileTransfer function from a Webvisu to my Raspberry Pi 5 on Codesys 3.5 SP 19 Patch 6. I went in the files CODESYSControl.cfg and CODESYSControl_User.cfg and added : [CmpWebServerHandlerV3] AllowFileTransferServices=1 And it seems to be working. However, I cannot access my several Webvisu without putting my login. That's a problem because one of my webvisu is in kiosk mode on the raspberry itself and there is nokeyboard attached, it's just an information screen, but I can't view it. Is there a wey to enable the File Transfer without requiring to login ? Thank you for your time

Hello everyone, I'm encountering an issue in CODESYS regarding writing files to external paths. Despite correctly configuring the placeholder in the CODESYSControl_User.cfg file to allow access to an external folder, CODESYS doesn't seem to write any files, and no errors are reported. The issue on the older versions was absent with no placeholders. I've checked the operating system permissions, and they seem to be in order, but the issue remains. Hello, I'm coming from Siemens (TIA) world and currently learning Codesys. I'd like to know if there is an option to add external txt file with ST code for creation of a function block and then use this file as a source file from which FB will be generated? For example, in TIA, there is an option add external source file to the project structure and then use option "Generate blocks from source". This would create a FB. Does Codesys have something similar? This external source file would look like this: FUNCTION_BLOCK Scaling VAR_INPUT x, k, n : REAL; END_VAR VAR_OUTPUT y : REAL; END_VAR VAR END_VAR y := k*x+n; END_FUNCTION_BLOCK

I am trying to push changes to a GitHub repository. I set up the Git Remote with the correct URL and committed the change. When I push the change it asks for my GitHub credentials which I know are correct, when I type in my username and password it gives me an error: "The provided credentials seem incorrect." So I tried putting in my Person Access token and when I put that in with my username I get this error: "The server request failed and returned a HTTP error code 403: Forbidden". Does anyone know how to correctly use Personal Access Tokens from GitHub with Codesys Git? Does it have to do something with the remote url or my username? Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I use Python Script to generate some POU in Codesys V3.5 SP19 and I would like to limit the "Access Control" to them thanks to the Python command. Is there any commands that allow to edit the "Properties... >> Access Control" of the POU? The other possibility is to set the permissions with "Project >> User Management >> Permissions... >> Project objects >> Modify >> ... >> myPOU", but I did not find the related Python commands. Otherwise, is there a global setting that allows to set the permissions by default? For example, Modify = Denied for everyone user by default. Thank you in advance for your help, Nico

Is it possible to make a function that checks to see if there are any open dialogs on a given clients. I think VisuDialogs.VisuDlgUtil_IsDialogOpen does this for a given dialog name, but is it possible to do this for any dialog. Appretiate any help Cheers Callum

I am currently working on a project using CODESYS and Control Win on a Windows computer. I've encountered an issue where I am unable to save a CSV file. I have followed the standard procedures and used the appropriate file handling functions, but the file is not being created or saved as expected. Im struggling with the AC Persistence. AC persistence seems to work for any variable that is changed online and values are kept during reboot. However, if I try to edit the persistence files offline or replace the persistence files with a previously downloaded older persistence file (with modified values), the online value will not follow, as if the system did not at all read the file at boot? My testing sequence. - Edit a the value of a persistenced variable (with xSaveOnChange = True) - Save/download the associated persistence file, (and confirm the value has changed). - Edit the value online for a second time . - Stop runtime - Replace (upload) the persistence file with my previously downloaded file . - Coldstart/Warmstart/Start runtime - Whatever Im trying the value of my persistence variable will always be equal to that of my second edit as if the file is not read/considered during boot. What am I doing wrong?

I'm using the JSON Utilities SL library to write configurations in my program to a file. I'm generating the JSON data using the builder function block and all appears to work correctly. When I write the jsondata to file, I'm finding that some of the JSON elements are not being written in the right location in the file. Rather than writing they keys under the parent object, they get written outside the root JSON object at the end of the file. If I then try to read the file back into the program, I get an invalid_structure error. I don't get any errors when populating the JSON data or when writing the file. I attached an example of the JSON writer output. The problems begin with key P200. Each P200 should go under MBR1 through MBR3. Among the rest of the keys, they are supposed to be under different parent objects. I am using default values for wsLineBreak and encoding.

Hello, I'm trying to access the group IDs of the connected user. "CurrentUserGroupId" var shows only the first group ID that the user is assigned, I need the other group IDs that the user is in.
