However, although the master encoder axis position value changes, there is no movement in the slave servo axis! Test steps: 1-) EtherCAT servo axis installed, configured and motion test was performed with MC_Jog. No problem. 2-) Softmotion general axis pool > SMC_FreeEncoder was added and pulse amount configuration was performed. No problem. 3-) Incremental encoder actual count value was transferred to the "SMC_FreeEncoder.diEncoderPosition" variable as DINT under the ethercat task in every cycle and the encoder axis position value was observed. No problem. 4-) A simple CAM table with a 1:1 ratio was created under the project tree. (For example: Simply, when the encoder rotates 1 turn, the motor will rotate 1 turn.) 5-) The SMC_FreeEncoder axis enabled with MC_Power and brought to the StandStill state. 6-) The MC_CamTableSelect block was run with default input values ​​(all absolute) and only the Cam table name was specified. The Done output was seen successfully. The simplest way to do this would be to add a bus coupler dedicated to the expansion IO. The EtherCAT network does not fault when modules connected to the expander are not present. In the image below, nothing below the red line is present in the network - with the network working correctly. In your "base" project, simply include all of the possible modules, and then plug them in as you add pumps to the system. I would also highly recommend against the use of direct addressing. There are other methods to accomplish this, including using the "Optional" checkbox for modules and explicitly addressing them. Yes, this is the error the sometimes show up. What make me crazy is the fact that it happens randomly and not each times. I know very well where the problem is, in wich one program row it's located. For each actions of the state machine I have all events recorded with log on text file. it is not problematic for me to find the application point of the fault, but I need to understand why occasionally and for no apparent reason, switching the state machine and thus changing the motion FB, sends the axis into failure (but only occasionally). For example, one case that is often problematic is the execution of the Axis Halt instruction. When, after a MoveAbosulte instruction this returns the event as 'done' and indeed the axis is in standstill, the state machine first sets the move instruction to FALSE, and the next cycle sets the Halt request to TRUE. Some of the time everything works out fine. Occasionally, however, in this exchange, the axis goes into fault, also losing the OPERATIONAL state. Meanwhile, I would like to understand why the motion FB instances must still be called even after the Execute is set to FALSE, especially in view of the fact that the next instruction is programmed to abort the previous one, with BufferMode set to 'Aborting'. All these unnecessary FB calls are an unnecessary overhead on the CPU anyway. Is there any precise rule about when to cease calling the various instances? (It should precisely be the 'done' status that says this one has finished its work).

Hi, I was hoping I could send the two files "application.app" and "application.crc" directly to the directory "/home/codesys/PlcLogic/Application" instead of logging into the device with codesys, downloading the program to the controller and then do the "create boot application", so it will reboot with the correct program running. I think i also need to edit the file "eRUNTIME.cfg" located in the "/home/codesys/ folder, because when I create the boot application from the codesys IDE, these lines are added to the file: [CmpApp] Application.1 = Application [SysFileMap] /home/codesys/PlcLogic/Application/Application.app=0x212520, 0x2DBC747E, 2DBC747E.app I think the "eRUNTIME.cfg" file is the same as CODESYSControl.cfg I also dont know the purpose of the hexadecimal numbers etc. that is generated. I had similar assertion failed error messages today. I am fairly new to Codesys. I tried using SFC for the first time, I usually use ST. Anyway I had errors in some of my transitions. I copied and pasted transition code and forgot to change the target of the code. I started getting lots of the assertion errors but now I have sorted out the problems and it compiles OK the assertion error messages seem to have stopped. There do not seem to be any other responses to your post, did you resolve your problem?

OK.. so maybe I miss understood for how the forcing order works. It seems that the force list is applied at the beginning of every task call (I'm assuming this based on what I am seeing). If I force my variable FALSE and then write it TRUE in a task, then it stays TRUE for that task, but then in the next task it will go back to FALSE.

Try using a plain SERIAL_INTERFACE on COM4 first (like you did for COM2) without Modbus logic — if that opens, you know the hardware + port config is fine, so the issue is more likely with modb_L05.lib. If the port opens but Modbus still fails, enable debug/logging (if available) to inspect whether the port opening fails or the subsequent Modbus negotiation fails. The only weird situation i remeber with particular or complete frozen target visu was after the rtc clock was fallen or set back to the past. It looked like after running a while the alarm history database crashed during writing entries at a date lot of years in the past. After setting the rtc clock to actual date/time and deleting the alarm db every thing worked fine. I don't know, if this is/was a problem of our PLC hardware/firmware? Maybe check date/time at your system?

Im using a pointer as input for a FB and for convenience I like to use 'referenced' variable internally. I use this setup in methods which works because internal variables are instantiated for each call. In a FB these variables are instantiated and initiated for the first call only. Is there a pragma/attribute available that changes this behaviour to mirror a 'method'-call?

Hi, I tried posting in the discussion for the HTTP Client example but perhaps that is not monitored? I have been using http client successfully for approximately 12 months, however in recent weeks I have begun to get TCP_INIT_ERROR when attempting to communicate. The only resolution seems to be power cycling and then the connection begins to work again for a time. I am not aware of any changes to code or libraries between working ok and now. Cold reset does not resolve, only power cycle. It seems the error from NBS.TCP_Client is 6002 which I think is invalid_addr However the address is the same when working and not working?

Hi, I am interested in details about the .ret file in the filesystem. I have already a project where the file is used (write on demand, read by start) and I want to share it as 'default input' for test devices using the identical application. Opening the .ret file content in a hex editor (I only use a single string retain var) I asked myself what the meaning of the first 24 bytes is. It neither contains a handle to the application nor a reference to the variable. Is this maybe a timestamp? Or a CRC/checksum? Regards, Thomas

When trying to connect to a Github repository in the Git remotes windows of Codesys, the user can be the account username or the account email, while the password is the Github token. (I know this is an old topic, but I lost some time figuring it out from the guides.)

Hello, Today I have the problem again. The code in my IDE is the same as the code in the runtime but I cannot Log in to the PLC without download. Juste because the Download information is 'None'. And I don"t know how is managed this information bu Codesys. I'M WAITING SINCE 17 MONTHS, CAN I PLEASE HAVE A ANSWER FROM CODESYS?
