Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a project involving the control of 5 VFDs via Modbus RTU, this time using the WAGO 750-8212 CPU. So far, I've managed to make progress, but I've encountered an issue. While I can successfully read and write to all the registers I need, I consistently encounter a "Response CRC Fail" error when attempting to write the value 1151 to the STW register at address 40100. I'm able to set the frequency via register 40101 and adjust all other parameters using different registers. Setting STW to 1150 results in the drive ready boolean from the ZSW-bit being received instantly. However, the moment I attempt to send 1151 to register 40100, I immediately receive the "Response CRC Fail" error for all channels. I've also attempted to use combined control, employing Modbus for frequency control and starting from a digital input. Everything seems to function properly until I send the start command to the VFD. Interestingly, I consistently encounter the same error the moment I send the start command, regardless of whether I use register 40006 (high) or 40100 (1151). Could someone please assist me in resolving this issue?

Thank you @TimvH It is clear that licences are application based and now thanks to your reply I could understand the meaning of RT systems. The RT called "CODESYS Control for Linux ARM SL" can be deployed on a generic debian based ARM system. The RT called "CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL" is more specific for Rasberry HW. Did I understand correctly? Regarding the RT called "CODESYS Virtual Control SL" despite its description it is not clear to me when to use it. It seems that a project created using such RT system can be deployed on any HW. It sound good obviously, as it means that it is possible to realize a completely abstract project from its hardware. The only limit could be represented by the need of using a specific HW or OS feature, in that case a more specific RT system should be chosen. Is my last consideration correct? Regards Rossano

I used the PLCnext Engineer IDE from Phoenix and all Communications where up and running and my PLC program executed successfully. THEN I tried the same PLC Layout with Codesys and Codesys Control for PLCnext. It was not successful and gave me the "Error: Local Bus not Running". I searched the web for answers but was unsuccessful in finding a solution. So I tried to change my configuration and found that the following Modules COULD NOT be recognized by Codesys Control. Hi guys, I have a textlist in my project which is working just as expected in a drop down list. I would like to move this text list to a sd card and access it from there, because I want to ease the editing of the contents of this textlist. I'm imagining a solution like the operator shuts down the plant, takes the sd card out, edits the textlist on the card with a windows machines notepad, then reinserts the card in the PLC and restarts the plant, having the new content of the textlist populating the dropdown list. I'm sorry that I'm asking you to spoonfeed me, but I did not find anything straightforward to do this... I saw in the Project>Project settings>Visualisation a relative path thingy, but I have the plant in operation and I would not like to make 100 trial and errors right now... I'm also not interested in SysLib file read commands and stuff, I would just like to access the file from the cards part, I don't want to replace its contents dynamically or such... nor I have language files or recipes... Using SDO, I can read the EtherCAT mappings and offsets from various registers like 0x1c12, 0x1c13, etc. When I obtain registers mapped in the PDOs and various offsets, I could technically access directly to the statusword, controlword, etc., if they are mapped. I have noticed that on IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Diag I can find pointers to the input and output buffers. However, although the input buffer can be easily read by referring to what has been obtained from the SDOs, it is not possible to write to the output buffer, as it is overwritten in each cycle by the data from the IOMapping task. Is there a way, knowing an instance of IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Diag, to obtain the pointer to the first data in the IOMapping? The offsets are identical to those of the PDOs, but obviously the data is a copy. For me, the cleanest thing would be to access the pointers on IOMapping, for DS402a devices to retrieve the key data and point them to internal references. I need to know this as, having developed our own motion library, I would like to simplify the initial setup by eliminating unnecessary and nonsensical mappings that can lead users to unnecessary errors. In the current version that we have been using for years, we have to map everything manually. I would like to pass only the slave reference to the FB_init constructors and eliminate the mapping.

We are working on a project and the customer required 3.5.16 BF4. After working on the project for a few weeks I opened it the next morning and it could not access libraries. IecVarAccess could not be accessed. I checked if windows updated - it did not. So no explanation for why it lost access other than that I shut down the computer for the night. Note that I am using a demo license. I still haven't figured out any reason to purchase a license. So I spent the next hour reinstalling CodeSys. Note that I did NOT uninstall first. After install I waited another 5 minutes for it to open the first time. I clicked File->Open to open the project. Previously I had selected File->Recent Projects - not sure if that makes and difference. But after this process it did open the project and compile it just fine. This is miserable. If this had happened when I went on site to a customer I would have lost hours of work doing the reinstall. Is there a different and quicker fix?

Hi, I’m currently testing the Codesys Redundancy application with 2 Raspberry Pi, with the idea is of using in my project 2 Wago PFC200 and 1 Ethercat Master with 2 Remote IO. After I configure the redundancy, and one Pi is Active and the other is Passive, if I disconnect the Ethernet cable of the Active, the Passive become Standalone, which is good, but the problem is the following: -When I recover the Ethernet connection, both stay Standalone. They will NOT Sync until I do it manually in the Codesys environment. How to make the synchronization automatically? -If both Pi/PLC stays Standalone, who is managing the IO? (Ethercat and Serial) I have done a test with an Modbus Slave, where I am sending a counter that increase every second. And I see that when both PLC are standalone, they both keep an active connection with the Slave, and both write values. This does not seem good, since according to this in my project both PLC would try to control the IO at the same time. Note: The Codesys have an option (greyed out, not possible to select) which says “Auto Sync”. What is the purpose, and why I’m not able to select it? I'm using Codesys Control for Rapsberry Pi 64SL Runtime in my test environment (2xRaspberry Pi 4), with the idea of using Codesys Control PFC 200 Runtime in my project (2xWago PFC200 and 1 Ethercat Master with 2x Wago 750-354 Ethercat Fieldbus Coupler). Using the last Codesys 3.5 version (SP19 PAtch 5). I'd appreciate a lot any help on this questions!

hi! im planning a project on a raspberry with Codesys. For this I'll need a number of relays to control heating and fans, all a max of 24v and about 2a. How would i know if the board / relays i buy will be working with Codesys? Does every hat work or does it need a library/driver? is there a list of drivers/libraries created? as this is a hobby project all tips on a relay board or single boards that works with codesys and not to expensive are very welcome.

You will need a USB to RS485 converter to connect the PC to the Modbus RTU Slave Device. In Windows this converter will be recognized as Serial COM poort (e.g. COM2, or COM3, see the windows device manager to find this out). Select this port in your CODESYS application. On the PC you need to use the CODESYS Control Win (SoftPLC) to run your application. It will not work in simulation mode, because then the Modbus Communication will not be activated.

I had one RPI device where I could login. I copied the SD-flash over to another SC-flash. This new SD-flash was inserted in the new device. I can boot the new device but I cannot login why? How can I install an application on this new device? Compared to the Codesys 3.5 SP19 Patch 1 version, the context menu on a Trace object no longer works. So I can no longer run the Downloader Trace command. Yes, you can use the CODESYS ControlWin V3 Soft PLC. However, if simulation is enabled on the device this will disable all communication, so you need to turn off simulation to view the visualization in a web browser. In simulation mode, all IO and communication is disabled for standalone testing. In addition, make sure to set the start visualization in the WebVisu object in the application tree. I hope this helps!

Device: RPI 3b or 3B+ System: Wheezy Codesys: 3.5.16.2 I got the Log: 2023-12-13T00:38:43Z, 0x00000054, 2,6,11, !!!! Warning: Eventbuffer full for app=<app>Application</app>; an inputevent with the tag <tag>128</tag> has been dropped This log happens aroud 10 times a second. Sometimes the controller stopped working any more. What is the reason for this? I will update this controller soon (I hope so, but in the meantime I should at least know hoe to prevent this issue) Mario

Hi, there is a plethora of hardware available for it to be succesful on. In theory every ARM32/64 or x86/64 device is a potential target. Next to this there are embedded device platforms for which specific toolchains are available. A good starting for manufactureres of CODESYS capable devices is available here: https://www.codesys.com/the-system/codesys-inside.html. That should give you a good reference point.

Hi geoweil, have you tried to save changed values to remanent area or using a VAR RETAIN? After restart you have to initialize Counter with last remanent value. Depending on changes per cycle and the possibilitiy of your control unit to write remanent storage. Otherwise you need a buffering system to ensure save backup of last PI_Counter value. Hallo, wie verhält es sich mit der Demo-Version und Datenübertragung z.B. via CAN-Bus. Der Bus läuft, das Device befindet sich im Zustand "Operational" aber es werden keine Daten von der Soft-SPS empfangen. Ich benutze aktuell eine nicht lizenzierte Version von CoDeSys Control for Linux ARM64SL. Normalerweise sollte die Demo-Version uneingeschränkt laufen - also kann ich davon ausgehen, dass es sich um einen Programmierfehler handelt oder ist die Feldbusfunktion ohne Lizenz doch in irgendeiner Form eingeschränkt verfügbar (außer dem 30 Minuten Limit nach Reboot)?

I have some Symbols from the Visualization Toolbox on my Target Visu on the Computer. I tried many Symbols, mainly Arrows. I'm able to control the visibility with condition e.g. "GVL.actual_testvalues.speed <= 0" But I can't do "Toggle color" with boolean GVL.b_toggle_color. Neither "TRUE" nor "FALSE" does change anything. Is this a known issue? I'm using CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 5 + (64-bit). See attached file with more Version-Info. I'm currently using Style 6, Gradient axial 2, 3.5.12.0. I had the same issue with Default 3.5.16.0.

Hello, I tried using the CSV Utility SL Example from the CODESYS IIoT Libraries SL. No matter what path I try, I can not get the InitSave to work from CSVWRitersSTExample, line 2. It always gives the error 'CANNOT_OPEN_DIRECTORY'. I am running this on an Windows Azure VM, with Codesys Control Win V3 x64. I added a folder called 'temp' to my C: so that the default 'C:/temp' would work. However it gives CANNOT_OPEN_DIRECTORY. I tried updating to 'C:\temp' with the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Good day, Currently running a project on a windows 10 IPC with TargetVisu. the project starts and runs but the TargetVisu screens will not accept a touch on the monitor but will work with a mouse. I have the option to use as a touchscreen active. I did not put my license on the device just yet. Do you have to have the license activated on the device before the TargetVisu will work via a touch? running Codesys v3.5 SP 19 Patch 6, 64bit. device is Codesys Control Win v3 X64

Try using a password instead of a public key to log into the controller. I can see the screen from PLC, but i also want to se Input and Output the PLC . I try to scan the network by useing tosibox Gateway but its not working. Where i should looking the problem ? Hallo zusammen, grundsätzlich sollte ja die Möglichkeit bestehen den Raspberry auch als SPI Slave zu nutzen. Leider habe ich kein entsprechendes Projekt gefunden, bei dem dies der Fall war. Kann mir jemand dabei weiter helfen, wie ich bei Codesys Control for Raspberry , die Konfigurationen für den SPI Slave machen kann? Der Master soll ein Microkontroller sein von einem anderen Gerät sein. Ich arbeite noch mit 4.10.0.0 und einem Raspberry Pi 4 Vielen Dank und liebe Grüße
