Reading between the lines of what you did not specify, it therefore seems to appear that in the programme, at the end of the movement order, there is an order to remove power and switch off the pulse modulation. if this is the case, it is obvious that the motor then remains free. If the position is to be maintained at the end of the movement, the motor current modulator, which on the PLC side is controlled via the MC_Power method, must not be interrupted. Another possibility is that in the motor drive settings, the standstill torque current is set very low or zero and without position monitoring. You have to check this via the servo motor drive.

Regarding to your application: When clicking in the web visualization, the boolean variable will be tapped for both buttons. The LED in the web visualization lights up as long as the variable is true The used variables should come from the GVL, ad/or thePLC_Prg. We see no difference or problem in both projects: You have created a visuelement Push button a a tapper, that is supposed to control the variable in this way as expected. This is also reflected (switching Bool from false to true) in the program code, as well as in the (GVL declared) variables. Wherever the misunderstanding comes from: no, this is not memory or license related. Our best guess: it is probably more of an applicative/conceptual implementation.

Hello, I am facing a problem with the new Softmotion 4.17.0.0 version. Has anyone encountered a similar problem, what is the solution? I would be happy if you could share it. Problem description: -- "SMC_FreeEncoder" encoder axis is the master, -- The motor of the servo driver on the EtherCAT bus is the slave axis. -- When the MC_CamIn block executed, the InSync output is activated. However, although the master encoder axis position value changes, there is no movement in the slave servo axis! Test steps: 1-) EtherCAT servo axis installed, configured and motion test was performed with MC_Jog. No problem. 2-) Softmotion general axis pool > SMC_FreeEncoder was added and pulse amount configuration was performed. No problem. 3-) Incremental encoder actual count value was transferred to the "SMC_FreeEncoder.diEncoderPosition" variable as DINT under the ethercat task in every cycle and the encoder axis position value was observed. No problem. 4-) A simple CAM table with a 1:1 ratio was created under the project tree. (For example: Simply, when the encoder rotates 1 turn, the motor will rotate 1 turn.) 5-) The SMC_FreeEncoder axis enabled with MC_Power and brought to the StandStill state. 6-) The MC_CamTableSelect block was run with default input values ​​(all absolute) and only the Cam table name was specified. The Done output was seen successfully. No problem. 7-) The MC_CamIn block was activated with default input values ​​(absolute) and only the master encoder axis name, slave servo axis name, CamTableID input pins was specified and then "Execute" input set to TRUE. 8-) The InSync output information of the MC_CamIn block observed as TRUE. However, although the encoder axis value changed, the position value of the slave axis did not change at all, it did not move. However, when the same steps and operations are performed with the same IDE just downgrade SoftMotion version from 4.17.0.0 to 4.10.0.0, everything works normally and without problems as expected in MC_CamIn block with FreeEncoder master. Dear Forum, I currently have a challenge. I have a library with some communication classes. These communication classes need to be linked to an interface like this: Devices_and_controllers.Comm_Frame.Modbus_GVL_Link.KNX_TCP[Interface_Index] := THIS^; This is executed via a FB_Init() method. When I try to do this in a program this works fine. But when I declare the FB_Init() in the library the FB_Init() method is being called but the link is not made (interface still has the value 0000000000). The Objects and interfaces are defined in the library (GVL), so I’m assuming the data should be there. When I call the FB_Init method explicitly in the program it also works fine. Whys is this not working when it is all defined in the library? And is it even possible to create a structure like this in Codesys? Kind regards Alex

Hallo everyone, I am working on new PLC of Weidmueller that uses Codesys SP19. I made the upgrade at the Patch 4 coming from patch 0. Unce made the upgrade everything is working well in the progect except the web visu user menagent. In the new version, when I perfom the login, I cannot use the keyboard of the device; the window where to digit the user name and password opens, the buttons "OK" and "Cancel" work but the system doesn't allow to put input from the device keybord, the mouse behaves as it is an image. If I active the virtual keypad or numpad it works otherwise nothing. I am wondering if it is a bug of the new package or if I must set something else. Thanks in advance, Riccardo.

Hello all, I have been trying to implement a TCP client on a Festo PLC (CPX-E-CEC-M1) and it looks like it works well except that after some time (greatly varies between a few hours to more than 100h) my PLC crash. When I look into the log file the only thing I see is that before the crash happens a few kernel warnings : N0HZ_local_softirq_pending 80 and then the crash. I've looked into this warning and from what I could find on the net it seems that this is warning is triggered when the ethernet link is down. I've tried to correct this bug for quite some time and what I know is that : - The crash is caused by my TCP client, when I remove it from my code I see no crash - The crash happens more quickly the more the TCP client is used. - The time before the crash is not directly proportional to the number of communications or their size. But it looks like it is just more likely to happen if the client connect to the server at a higher frequency. - The precedent observation makes it seem unlikely that the crash is caused by some memory overflow because then the crash speed would be more proportional to the amount of data exchanged. SO from these observations, I believe that the crash could be caused by the PLC trying to connect to a server while there is some kind of issue with the ethernet link resulting in the PLC getting stuck in some indefinite state and making it crash. This still seems a bit unlikely to me because if the ethernet is down it simply shouldn't be able to contact the server and the communication would just fail which doesn't cause my PLC to crash. Has anyone encountered the same kind of problem (with the same kernel message) ? I am pretty sure the warning is not the direct cause of the crash but just an indicator that something is wrong with my PLC. Thanks in advance

Hello, i am trying to find a way how to open Dialogs on a Single Visu. The options from VU.Globals are Target and WebVisu, but Webvisu opens the Dialog on both WebVisus and it should be separated. CurrentVisu can only be used when the Dialog is called from the Visu, but its all done in the Code. One Webvisu is for the User and one is for diagnostic reasons, and they should not be interfered from each other. Maybe someone can help me with this. Thanks

Hello, I have a question: Once the command is being executed, is there a way to kill it again? As the called application is running in the background, the user can't close it but it shall be closed/terminated, commanded by codesys. I have tried with "SysProcessTerminate" but I guess this is not correct as the RTE crashes when this function is called. I have a Raspberry Pi 4 we have been using for years to run CODESYS for development purposes. I recently have had to re-install the OS (Raspberry OS lite). The only change to the default configuration is not creating the "pi" user during install. I (apparently successfully) installed the 4.10.0.0 control on the Raspberry Pi. We have licences on a dongle. I am able to start the control. systemctl status shows it as running for a little while (exactly, precisely 30 seconds as per my tests, every time), then it becomes exited. I can restart the control, and the same thing happens again. Every time. In the brief moments it is running, I can log in to the PLC. Working fast and restarting the control many times, I have been able to configure users. I have been able to download my application. I have been able to run the application, and stop on a breakpoint. I have been able to connect with the licence manager and confirm the dongle is detected and licences are listed as OK. I see nothing wrong until the service just exits. I have found nothing in the logs. It is like the runtime just terminates with no error code or message after exactly 30 seconds. Any help would be appreciated.

I have set up a brandnew Beckhoff panel pc with a codesys control runtime V3. I configured it together with 2 profinet field devices: a 16in/16out IO module from Turck and an MTS linear encoder. The machine works fine untill all of a sudden the communication breaks and the profinet participants become unreachable. At that point I can still ping the device, but the profinet master does not find them anymore: When i do a scan they are not found. When i do a cold restart, the profinet master becomes active again and the devices are found again. In the log i get Ethercat packet receive error: sysethernet. I am a little confused, there is no ethercat device in the device tree. I already set the send clock and the reduction ratio to higher values, but without result. Can codesys be configured, so that the communication re-establishes without doing the cold reset? This is very annoying and is causing a lot of prodution losses. regards Tim

You need to create an array with one element for each possible user. I usually define these arrays in the root screen. FrameIndex : Array [0..MaxUsers] OF INT; Then use the global CurrentClientId (defined by one of the VISU libraries) to index the array element used to select the frame. FrameIndex[CurrentClientId]

Hi all, is it possible to use object instances that are not instantiated by codesys itself, e.g. have been defined in UA-Modeler ? When I browse the plc with UA-Expert I see those instances, but I have not seen information in codesys or the web if these are writable in codesys. So far, I am under the impression, that it is not possible, but would like to hear from others. Also, is it correct, that it is not possible to create references inside codesys ? Hi everyone, I am working on a 3 axes Cartesian robot. I take control of all the axes. In the Ethercat connection, the drive sequence is the same as in the program. For example, in the current program the order is as follows. 1. Axis_Z 2. Axis_X 3. Axis_Y Communication Diagram PLC->Drive_Z->Drive_X->Drive_Y When I try to change the order in the program while keeping the communication diagram the same, there is an axis drive mismatch. How can I fix this?

It is either my installation is bad, or there is a bug. I re-created the project in 3.5 SP19 and there are no errors or warnings. Compiles with no errors or warnings. The original was done in 3.5 SP20. Thoughts?
