Hi all, I want to know if someone has an idea of how I can write on value change in Modbus Codesys. I have a Wago PLC and I was used to work with E-cockpit which it was quite easy to do that without the necessity to trigger any value when there was a change in the variable ( I will put how easy is ). how you can see just changing the trigger in "On value Change" will do that channel writing automatically when It detects a change in those arrays. On the other hand, in Codesys if I enable the rising edge in Codesys It ask me to put a bool variable and if triggers is going to write that value. That is making me that I have to create a function or a logic to detect the change, the problem I have is that doing that is very tedious. I first approach I got it was to create a Function who returns a bool when the value change, but I tried to keep the old value but what is happening is that in Functions all the data is erased every cycle so I can not keep any Old value. so in the Main program the trigger is going to be TRUE all the time due, the old value is cero every cycle. The second approach I got it was using a function Block (POU_1) and it works but I dont want to instance that function for every Channel or value that I want to check if the value change, Basically if I have 200 values to write trhough modbus I have to create 200 instances of that function which I think it is not practicall at all. It should be a better way to implement this as e-Cockpit from Wago Does. However, I haven't been able to know how.

I am looking for an example of how to run 2 applications on 1 device that would have global variables shared between the two apps. In this case what I am trying to do is to have the main program logic run as one application and then have the visualization run as a second application. I find this https://us.store.codesys.com/media/n98_media_assets/files/000013-F/0/Multiple%20Applications_en.pdf, that talks about exactly what I want to do, but I can't find the download. The main reason I want to do this is for download speed. Right now it takes at least a minute to download our application to the PLC. A simple program downloads to the PLC in a very short time, but add visualization and the download time gets much longer. If I could download the program separately from the visualization I think that a simple program change would take very little time to download. I have tried create a GVL in the POUs view. This partly works in that both applications can see the GVL, but they each create their own instance of it and the variables are not shared between the two apps. There are ideas of using OPCUA but this raises problems with licensing and having to move any variable that needs to be shared into the Symbol Configuration. This adds a lot of management to keep this up to date. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks.

Hi, Could you please send an print of your ethernet adapter info? Ip addr Subnet Mask Default Gateway Also, check if the gateway service is active in your windows. Win+R > services.msc > Look in the list CODESYS Control Win V3 x64 Gateway OR CODESYS Gateway V3 Hook up the M12 code D into the ETH port, supply the controller, it should apperars to you. Make sure when you try to connect with the controller, the target of your project has to match with the controller. Otherwise, click on the device in the devices tree > Communications Settings tab > Device > Options > And disable "Filter Network Scans by Target ID". Good luck.

Hi, I am trying to create a project using a raspberry pi, I have added the modules for the Pi and MCP3008. I have encountered som errors that I don't know how to track down. 1. The GPIOs give preprocessor errors, but I read that this does not prevent compiling. This seems to be true. I can build the empty project with no errors. 2. After adding a SPI master and MCP3008, the preprocessor errors double, but seem similar and the project again builds with no errors. 3. I add a DUT and GVL, with a function, and I get the following errors. They remain even if I delete these things. ------ Build started: Application: Device.Application ------- Typify code... Hello, its still not quite clear to me how to deal with the PLCLogic directory in linux. I have the directory right here: I need to correctly access the files in this folder through CODESYSControl.cfg. Here is my CODESYSControl.cfg where on the first lines there are a few lines: [SysFile] FilePath.1=/etc/, 3S.dat PlcLogicPrefix=1 That means that if I am going to use relative paths its going to go to from the PLCLogic directory right ? For example here: Whitch paths should I use. I cant seem to successfully run any of these aproaches ...

Hello, I am already able to run an OPC UA method in Codesys. Now my question, how can I interact with other tasks (e.g. read an SDO from EtherCAT and return it by the function)? The OPC UA method seems to be called only once (I tried to return BOOL or UINT values). Up to now I only found to do a while loop to wait for the result of the other task. Is there a better way to do it? Is this the way OPC UA functions should be used (for "not too long" function calls) or should I use another mechanism (method: Start, event: Finish, method: getResult)? Regards

Hi, I am new to modbusTCP and I am trying to access Input registers from codesys (3.5.SP13). The offset is 16#0000 and I am trying to access Channel 1[24] %IW24 to pull analog values. I am using pyModbusTCP and I need to supply a modbus address and the number of registers to read. What does 16#0000 mean in terms of the actual offset, how do I translate this number plus the channel to access this info via python? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
