I have discovered a rounding error, either in Codesys or in my understanding of numbers. The attached ladder shows that when the up button is pressed the number increases by 0.1, when the down button is pressed number decreases by 0.1, after several button presses the number isn't equally divisible by 0.1. Have I discovered a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Most of the localized text appears in the correct language, but the Visualization Toolbox and the element properties are in German. I haven't found a way to change them to English. Hello. I am currently working on a WAGO PLC, where I am trying to wrap my head around how the analog inputs and outputs work in codesys. I have looked far and wide on the internet, for a general introduction to the whole concept, but I have not had any luck with finding anything that helped me understand it better. The whole goal is for me to be able to read an analog input from a temperature sensor, as well as using an analog output, to control a frequency inverter. I know these have nothing to do with each other, but that is all I have on hand right now. I am trying to program this using Ladder Diagram. The only thing is, that every video/guide I have seen/read using LD, just adds a whole lot of function blocks, to do all kinds of stuff they don't explain. My general question is, how would one go ahead and read the analog input, as well as transmit an analog output? Is there some kind of specific function block I would have to use for this, or some great video I can watch, to understand the inner workings. Is it somehow possible to see the values the PLC recieved/sends? Regards.

Hi, I am quite new to Codesys and I try to do a Profinet connection to an Siemens PLC (315-2DP) with CP343-1 Lean Modul. I already configured the Siemens PLC, exported the GSDML. Then I added a new project in Codesys, added following moduls: - Ethernet - PN_Controller - Imported Profinet Device via GSDML importer When I start the programm everything looks fine but I always get the message "Stopped Profinet" and no data is available This is only for a small test. Therefore I start to do that on a Windows 10 with Development System. Later I will try to realize this on Raspberry. Ethernet Adapter is configured (192.168.1.1 / 24) Firewall deactivated WinPCap is installed S7-Station seems to be found ('fuadazenzitest') Can please somebody help me?

Hello We started with the new design of Codesys, through a "CODESYS Control Standard S" license. However, after installing the license, connecting, etc. (without any problems), we cannot get the program into the PLC with entries that we have not seen before. Is there anyone who has also experienced this? Better yet, does anyone have the solution?

Hi @tk096, Thank you for your response. Here is example project file and some screenshot for your analysis regarding this matter. In order to reproduce the problem on your side and make it independent of the hardware, I simulated the encoder counter incrementally for the master in this example. I configured a virtual axis as the slave motion axis. The problem occurs in the same way in the real hardware configuration (servo drive connected to Ethercat and hardware incremental encoder) in MC_CamIn. I hope this example helps you see the problem on your side and understand and find the source of the problem with FreeEncoderAxis for Softmotion 4.17.0.0. Best Regards, Imdat

Hi all, I am trying to utilize the ARRAY_SDV standard deviation function, part of the Math group in the OSCAT library downloaded from the CODESYS store. My Codesys version is 3.5.19.10. When I add the OSCAT to my Library, it shows a subset of the library (Standard) as fully installed and signed (see pic). However, the Math functions are not in this Standard group. The Math functions I need can be viewed as source code in the full OSCAT_BASIC, though this the symbol next to this library suggests it is source only and not fully installed. When I try to declare an instance of the ARRAY_SDV function in a program, it is not known. I have tried reinstalling and Building . . . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jeff

Hello, I have a question regarding the Trend and LegendDisplayer visualization elements. As the provided image suggests, I am trending two variables which show the torque of two motors in terms of % of max load. Below the trend element, is the LegendDisplayer element which correctly displays the name of both trends. But also, it displays the actual variable name in parenthesis, which I do not want. Currently, the name is set by entering a description for each variable in the trend recording settings. But I can't seem to find any option to display only this description. Is it possible to only remove the variable name used in the software? I'm using CODESYS 3.5.21.50. Thanks in advance!

These instances are accessible at Root > Objects > DeviceSet > CODE[...] > Resources > Application > GlobalVars > OPC_UA_Symbols for created instances and at [...] > Programs > PLC_PRG for mapped instances. The object defined in the information model is accessible in UA Expert by the name I have defined in the information model (Manipulator) at Root > Objects > Manipulator. It's suspected that the CPU loading is the Linux Kernal in the Wago PFC200 dealing with IGMP multicast traffic (@ 250 uSec) from inverters on site. The inverters use the ethernet network and IGMP to synchronize, the customer removed the switch that shipped with the system, and thus removed IGMP Snooping that was plug-and-play within the provided switch.

One workaround is to create a second application which is started after the rested of the main application. The second application starts the main application after time x and is rest after done start of the main application. No problems during the fieldbus re-start by this workaround.

Hello, what you are seeing is not strange behavior. The problem is that everyting is happening in the same program cycle. After the variable Stepnumber is changed from 10 to 20 for example then you want the program to wait with the next EQ until the next program cycle. Else every EQ will be be true because in every line the variable Stepnumber is increased. When the program arrives (still in the same cycle) at the line with the timer, the Stepnumber has been increased to 30 in the meantime and the timer will allway be ON because even though the variable is written to 10 in this line in the next cycle it starts with 10 and will be 30 again before reaching the timer in line 8. Not very good at explaining stuff but i hope you get the problem. See screenshot below for an example of one way you could solve this...

Hi, I am looking for a good way to update a decice remotely. The devices are distributed worldwide and have normally no connection to the internet. The CODESYS Automation Server can't help here. So I want to update the decices via USB stick. I have written my own code* to update the files that are created with ‘Create boot application’. But sometimes strange things happen: visu elements are present, but are not found the application is no longer registered and therefore no longer starts I have not yet found out why these errors occur. Has anyone had similar problems or found a better way? Is there perhaps a CODESYS library or something else? Many thanks! *the code deletes the directories on the device and copies the new directories from the USB stick while the system is running (goes without saying)

We have finally solved the problem. The version of the Gateway in the computer that worked (3.5.11.0) and the one that didn't (3.5.17.30) was different. We have three different Codesys 3.5 versions installed because we work with different controllers. I believe that, depending on the sequence you follow to install the versions you get a different Gateway version. To solve the problem you first have to disable the "obsolete" services. Open services, serach for (in our case) CODESYS Gateway V3 Version 3.5.11.0 CODESYS ServiceControl Version 3.5.11.0 I stopped the services and changed to Manual Start. Then you have to create the new services. In our case, from a Command Prompt session (cmd): SC CREATE "Codesys GatewayService Rigual" binpath="C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.17.30\GatewayPLC\GatewayService.exe" and then SC CREATE "CODESYS ServiceControl Version 3.5.17.30" binpath="C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.17.30\GatewayPLC\CODESYSControlService.exe" remember also to set them as Automatic Start!

ABB Automation Builder v2.5.0.22 Premium CodeSys 2.3.9.62 Running on Win 10 VM x64 Goal: I have an EtherCAT topology issue which normally a "Scan for devices.." on the EtherCAT master would shed some light on. Issue: Upon trying such I get a "No gateway selected" error. Question: How might I point the the "scanner" at a gateway? What is working: Gateway is running in system tray. I can go online to PLC. A scan from the "Diagnostics live" tab of the EtherCAT master gives slave status. What I have tried: Restarting gateway in system tray. Exiting system tray gateway and reloading it. Turning off firewall. Contacting ABB support multiple times. Any help appreciated.

So in my case the solution was that I had both smooth path and round path in the code. Both blocks had their own buffer and seemed completely separate but still triggering Execute on both caused the mentioned problems. When I blocked Execute the problems disappeared.
