Hi, We are currently using a Raspberry Pi 4 CM4 module in a EdgeBox RPI 200 - Industrial Edge Controller running the latest CODESYS Runtime Package 4.11.0.0. On the PC (actually an Intel Macbook Pro running Windows 10 in Parallels) we run CODESYS V3.5.19.50. Yesterday end of day when I was about to logoff and head home, I wanted to send the latest build to the Raspberry I clicked the Login button to compile a new version and then sync the application and all the files, it get's stuck on the last file to sync (see attached screenshot). This takes eternally, although sometimes, when I use my SFTP client (Cyberduck) and go into the raspberry and refresh the directory /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic/visu/, or when I open the actual file visuelemsdatetime.tl_datetime.txt, it gets un-stuck (forcing a refresh, which might fix the syncing issue) and CODESYS continues and I can click the Start button to start the application. But this SFTP force refresh trick does not always help either... What could be the issue here? network connectivity? Can someone please help me out?

Ich habe versucht, die XML-Datei über das OPC UA-Informationsmodell-Repository in Codesys zu importieren. Das Problem besteht darin, dass ich nicht weiß, wie ich meine von mir entworfenen Objekte anzeigen soll. und ordne es meiner SPS zu, um es auf meinem Server UaExpert sichtbar zu machen. Ich versuche grade die Lizenz für den Revolution Pi zu aktivieren, das hat auch schon im Laufe eines Jahres 20 mal geklappt, jetzt bekomme ich grade nur die Fehlermeldungen zu sehen in den angehängten Screenshots. Die Aktivierung der OPC-Client Lizenz lief ohne Probleme geht nur um die aktivierung für die Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL. Ich habe sowohl die Webaktivierung versucht als auch in der Codesys IDE, im Lizenz Manager versucht die Lizenz zu aktivieren. Aktivierung mit Dongle kommt nicht infrage da die bei Endkunden eingebaut werden. Hatte jemand ähnliche Probleme, bzw. weiß jemand wie das zu beheben ist? MfG Jannis

Hallo everyone, I am working on new PLC of Weidmueller that uses Codesys SP19. I made the upgrade at the Patch 4 coming from patch 0. Unce made the upgrade everything is working well in the progect except the web visu user menagent. In the new version, when I perfom the login, I cannot use the keyboard of the device; the window where to digit the user name and password opens, the buttons "OK" and "Cancel" work but the system doesn't allow to put input from the device keybord, the mouse behaves as it is an image. If I active the virtual keypad or numpad it works otherwise nothing. I am wondering if it is a bug of the new package or if I must set something else. Thanks in advance, Riccardo.

Hi, I'm using a Festo Codesys PLC (CPX-CEC-C1-V3), which is connected to a HMI panel. Both exchange data via OPC UA. Occasionally, the HMI stops displaying data, and looks as if there is no connection. If the HMI stops, the only way to make it work again is to restart the PLC. Restarting HMI has no effect. When the PLC is restarted, HMI starts working normally again. Is it possible to restart the OPC UA server from PLC code? I hope this will make fixing the HMI possible without a PLC restart. Thanks

I ordered a cheap managed switch and tested it as soon as I received the switch. It works great! I even went a bit further. As you can see in the screenshot, I created 2 Codesys containers. Each one having 2 fieldbuses. The first one has EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP and the second one has EtherCAT and Modbus/TCP. All going through the same ethernet port from the PC to the switch. The switch splits it up into 4 different networks. The hardest part was to figure out how to configure the switch. @eschwellinger, thank you very much.

I included the stub files of scriptengine (codesys python api) in a directory scriptengine of a project. I tried to include librarymanager like that: from scriptengine import librarymanager visual studio code detected an error. It said librarmanager could not be found. Indeed in the stub file, this was library_manager. But if I change it in my code, the plugin doesn t work anymore. I found an easy solution to this problem. I ve just changed the copied stub files.(library_manager -> librarymanager) But I think it would be better if you update it yourself in the future.

CODESYS V3.5 SP18: Mit Hilfe eines anderen Forumsbeitrags von @automa konnte ich ein Problem lösen: Ich kann mich wieder beim (virtuellen) Gerät anmelden. :-) Die Lösung ist das Löschen bestimmter Dateien oder eines ganzen Ordners: Ich habe den ganzen Ordner (nachdem ich eine Sicherheitskopie angefertigt hatte) gelöscht. Es ist ein Ordner unterhalb von: c:\Users\All Users\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\ Es ist für mich ein wenig überraschend, den Ordner "c:\Users\All Users" kann ich bei mir gar nicht sehen und wenn ich ihn öffne, werde ich umgeleitet auf: "C:\ProgramData". Aber die andere Frage bleibt offen, wie kann ich die Sicherheitsverwaltung aktivieren?

Hi, ich möchte ein kleine Testaufbau viualisieren und hätte mich für den Stil "White" entschieden. nun ist es allerdings so daß dieser Stiel einige fehler beim übersetzen erzeugt. Ich habe dann versicht auf den Basic-Style zurückzugehen -- dann sind auch die Fehler weg. Leider wird dann aus der WebVisu (nur am Gerät) kein Druckknopf mehr angezeigt. Ich habe die gleichen Fehler auf 2 Codesys-Installationen (Gleicher Software Stand, 2 PCs) Kann mir da jemand weiterhelfen? ... ich Konnte den Fehler zwar nicht finden aber durch eine Komplette Deinstallation von Codesys und Übertragung der Projektdaten in ein neues Projekt ist der Fehler verschwunden. danke

Liebe Forumsteilnehmer, hat jemand schon die Beckhoff-Multi-Klemme EL8601-8411 am EK1100 zusammen mit dem Raspberry Pi verwendet? Ich bin gerade am Testen und habe festgestellt - dass das mit dem Einstecken der Geräte nur teilweise funktioniert. - DI/DO und AI(U) lässt sich benutzen. - Den Zähler kann ich nicht testen, weil das Gerät nicht einsteckbar ist. Ich kann es zwar einstecken, aber dann läuft der Bus nicht. - Beim Encodereingang fehlt mir vermutlich ein geeigneter Funktionsbaustein um den zu betreiben. Gibts da evtl. irgendwo eine Bibliothek? Ich benutze CODESYS V3.5.19.70, habe die neuesten Gerätedateien (XML) von Beckhoff eingespielt und für den Raspberry Pi benutze ich die Version Codesys Control for Raspberry Pi 4.14. Using Codesys runtime for Linux and thinking of the process of preparing multiple such systems for my customer. I don't necessarily have physical access to these units, they can be (very) remote. The idea so far is to use an image to install the Linux OS and codesys runtime. Application updates can be done by distribution of the PlcLogic/Application/application.app and application.crc files. But whats the most practical way of managing the license for these units? Do each controller need to be physically connected to a License Manager instance or can licenses be distributed by means of a license file for each unit? I believe that the license should be stored in soft containers for each unit. Help and insights appreciated! Per

Hi, this is a bug in CODESYS Softmotion. Due to this bug the size is limited to a maximum of 32767 elements. However, we recommend to use way smaller buffer sizes. You could use a small buffer (it should be big enough so that it does not run empty when the interpolator processes the elements). In the beginning you fill the buffer in PLC_PRG until it is full. Afterwards, you start the interpolator. The interpolator processes the elements and removes them as soon as it travels past them. In PLC_PRG you check whether new elements can be stored in the buffer (NOT QUEUE.bFull). If the buffer has space, you generate the next elements and add them to the buffer (SMC_AppendObj()). Ich habe eine Bibliothek unter Subversion verwaltet und verwende Teile davon in anderen Subversion Projekten mit "Include externals". Wenn man die Bibliothek mit "Copy (Branch/Tag)" kopiert, lässt sich die Kopie nicht mehr mit "Include externals" in anderen Projekten einbinden. Es kommt eine Fehlermeldung, dass ein Pfad nicht gefunden wurde (siehe Anhang). Auch wenn man das Bibliotheksprojekt direkt auf dem SVN Server kopiert (mit Tortoise SVN), kommt die gleiche Fehlermeldung beim Versuch die Kopie mit "Include externals" in anderen Projekten einzubinden. Ich nutze Codesys 3.5.20.60 mit Codesys SVN 4.6.2.0. Wie kann man Projekte auf dem SVN Server so kopieren/verschieben, dass sie später mit "Include externals" in anderen Projekten verwendet werden können?

Hello, I am having trouble figuring out the proper location for my virtual runtime to create a .CSV file. No matter the file location I set, I get error 14 (CANNOT_OPEN_DIRECTORY). I have tried multiple different file paths ('/', '/var/opt/codesysvcontrol/PlcLogic', '/var/opt/codesys/'). I understand that there is only certain places that Codesys can read/write. I am also running this virtual runtime in a Podman container. Does anyone know what the location should be? I attached the archive I was using, a project that tests CSV capability that I borrowed from someone else. Thanks!

Hi all, I am trying to utilize the ARRAY_SDV standard deviation function, part of the Math group in the OSCAT library downloaded from the CODESYS store. My Codesys version is 3.5.19.10. When I add the OSCAT to my Library, it shows a subset of the library (Standard) as fully installed and signed (see pic). However, the Math functions are not in this Standard group. The Math functions I need can be viewed as source code in the full OSCAT_BASIC, though this the symbol next to this library suggests it is source only and not fully installed. When I try to declare an instance of the ARRAY_SDV function in a program, it is not known. I have tried reinstalling and Building . . . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jeff

Erkannt wird der Adapter als Bus 001 Device 004: ID 1d50:606f OpenMoko, Inc. Geschwister Schneider CAN adapter Wie bekomme ich den in Codesys mit einen Rasperry pi eingebunden. I am also having this issue. It was working fine for the first 2ish months and is now throwing this error. I can just try and go online again a second time and it works. I'm wondering if there is an environmental variable or something that isn't set that is causing it to use an empty path as a temp directory. The empty path will be the location the app is running from which is that path C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.19.50\CODESYS\Common. The permissions don't allow a normal user to write to that directory which causes the error. It also only seems to happen when there are changes or the build has been cleaned.

Hello, I am using the CODESYS IIoT Libraries SL MQTT Publish. Does this publish block only support publishing STRINGS as a readable format? I can publish ENUM, STRUCT, BOOL; however, MQTT Explorer will only display strings. When I use Wireshark, I can see that it is publishing something, but it looks to be publishing a serialized version which is a bunch of 0s or random text. If so, is there any way to deserialize this information back into a readable format? See pictures, where I have a BOOL TRUE that gets published as 001. Then see where I publish a STRUCT and it's an incomprehensible combination of 0s - only the string variable is displayed. Or, is it expected that you convert everything to a string before publishing? Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Following up on the invalid user authentication on the target Not 100% sure what the problem was but following my post I managed to create an administrator level user. Then my next issue was that I could not connect to the device. I might have flipped the device from a 64 bit version to a 32 bit version so I did UPDATE DEVICE back to the 64 bit version; still could not connect somehow. Then I did two things at the same time that fixed my problem: Wiped the Codesys Control Win 64 bit version and installed the 32 bit version Installed latest Codesys Control Win V3.5 SP20 (released today) I wish I knew which one of these actions fixed the problem but at least the problem is solved. Hoping this post may help someone one day
