Hello, Up until yesterday (2023/11/20) I was able to connect to the PLC remotely with no issues through Edge Gateway. However, today I can see the Edge Gateway online but I can find the PLC even if I do a network scan. Following the same path as janber0206 @ https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/automation_server/thread/e78b11d7e9/, I looked into certificates and found that one of the Trusted publisher certificates has expired earlier today (2023/11/21). Please see image. Questions are: Does it affect the connection to the PLC through Edge Gateway? How do I fix it? Thank you very much in advance!

Hallo, bedingt durch einen Rechnerwechsel musste ich verschiedene Codesys-Versionen wieder neu installieren, bzw. habe mit dem Codesys-Installer beim Setup einer neuen Version Add-ons einer bestehenden Installation importiert. Nun möchte ich ein bestehendes Projekt, welches auf einem Zielgerät mit recht alter Runtime läuft öffnen, dabei kommt der error "C0510: The configured compilerversion '3.5.8.0' is not available in your installation". Auf dem alten Rechner wurde mit CODESYS V3.5 SP18 Patch 4 eben mit der Compilerversion 3.5.8.0 übersetzt, beim Erstellen des Projektarchives geht jedoch der Compiler nicht mit und so kommt es auf dem neuen Rechner mit der Installation V3.5 SP18 Patch 4 zu diesem error. Übersetze ich das Projekt mit dem aktuellen Compiler, kommt eine ganze Latte an Fehlermeldungen. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit die Compilerversion 3.5.8.0 in die Installation 3.5.18.4 zu bekommen? I used the PLCnext Engineer IDE from Phoenix and all Communications where up and running and my PLC program executed successfully. THEN I tried the same PLC Layout with Codesys and Codesys Control for PLCnext. It was not successful and gave me the "Error: Local Bus not Running". I searched the web for answers but was unsuccessful in finding a solution. So I tried to change my configuration and found that the following Modules COULD NOT be recognized by Codesys Control. Hello everyone, I have a problem with the example project Responsive Design Example, which is available here in Codesys Forge. I wanted to try switching the visualization depending on the device type. To do this, I used a smartphone to access it. I can see via breakpoints that the Smartphone visualization is selected, but the visualization of the normal monitor still appears on the smartphone. Could there be a problem with the libraries, or why is the device not assigned the correct visualization page? I dont know how do further debuggin or troubleshooting. Does Ver. 4.12 support Raspberry Pi 5? I have three issues. The first issue is that Codesys cannot detect the RPI 5 when I want to download the runtime. When assigning the IP Address manually then I can download the runtime. The second issue is that I cannot connect to the RPI to download a program. Sometimes the window pops up and it ask for the user credentials, but it is still not connecting. The third issue is that I cannot connect to an ESP32 configured as a Modbus Slave with a Raspberry Pi 4B. I can connect to the ESP32 via a Radzio! Modbus Master Simulator. I am also missing the function Write Holding Registers in the setup of the slave. Are this known issues and when it will be solved?

Hi everyone, I use Python Script to generate some POU in Codesys V3.5 SP19 and I would like to limit the "Access Control" to them thanks to the Python command. Is there any commands that allow to edit the "Properties... >> Access Control" of the POU? The other possibility is to set the permissions with "Project >> User Management >> Permissions... >> Project objects >> Modify >> ... >> myPOU", but I did not find the related Python commands. Otherwise, is there a global setting that allows to set the permissions by default? For example, Modify = Denied for everyone user by default. Thank you in advance for your help, Nico

max. string length in Codesys is 255 chars. It's not possible to cram 20,000 things in a string. If you need to send the data to another device, send the whole data[] array (as byte array, without doing anything to it) and extract the information on the other end. As each struct member has a fixed size (81 bytes, as per you declaration), this will be easy. To save some resources, consider declaring string lengths - e.g. if the max possible length for key is 10 chars, declare it key: STRING(10); and it will occupy 11 bytes instead of 81

Hello , I am new to codesys ,working with it for just 15-17 days so ,i think i am able to installed it and configure it ,not i want to use ardunio program (smart dustbin ,college project using motor and Ultrasonic Module HC-SR04 and servo motor). i use ardunio program to write code with chatgpt to work ardunio as a modbus rtu as i dont have ethernet or wifi shild ,i wrote program in ariduno but now don have idea what change i have to make in codesys to comunicate as modbus slave it give error with bus error ,where i can get all errors ? Hi all, Im new to Codesys 3.5, and am in the process fo making a visualisation i'd eventually export towards a Wago device. The issue I'm having currently is that when I compile and connect to the simulated program, my simulation won't launch. On the Visualisation tab, all I get is a text message (where previously there was my prepared visualisation) that says "The visualisation awaits a connection. Start the application" One thing to note: I work with Codesys 3.5 in french, so this is a rough translation. And a second: I'm not getting any errors nor warnings about the visualisation tab itself upon compiling Is there a step i'm missing after launching my simulation? Or would it be some really specific issue caused by the way I've set up my program? Thanks, J

I'll be capturing a hex stream over serial into a RasPi and I'd like to convert a group of bytes into a float. I see this is available (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/cdsoperatorrealto.html) but not its inverse (i.e. BYTE_TO_REAL). The packets will be 18 bytes but I'll be selecting 4 byte segments from the middle, swapping byte endianness (i.e. changing 0x51847641 to 0x41768451), and converting to float; I believe they adhere to IEEE 754. Is there a pre-built function for some or all of this, or do I need to follow (https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/dc5829c7ea/)? Thanks!

Hello, I was wondering if there is a way in codesys to exclude the traces from the search when using the "ctrl+F" window ? That would be nice to improve the search functionnality when looking for a specific variable. Sometimes when I iterate through all occurences with the "find next" button, it opens the trace configuration window. I would expect to be able to close it and go to the next occurence with the "find next" button, but after closing the trace configuration window the search says it has reached the end of the scope (even if in reality there are other occurences of the variable elsewhere). I tried to enable / disable the "search up" checkbox but it's not changing anything. I hope somebody have insight on this, BR

Hi everyone, I just created a very simple library without any code and, added it to my very simple project. after adding this library, I get an error when I try to open "Symbol Set" in "OPC UA Server" in "Communication Manager". Here is the code of my POU in the library: FUNCTION_BLOCK POU VAR eCommand : (CMD_NONE:=0, CMD_RESET:=-1) INT := CMD_NONE; END_VAR Attached is the error that I get. I also noticed that by removing the enumeration variable above (eCommand), I can open the "Symbol Set" again. Anybody has any idea why this error is raised and how could I use enumeration variables without error in "OPC UA Symbol Set"?

Using Codesys 3.5 SP11 32bit to program a pair of IFM CR711S controllers. They each have an NVL sender and are set up to receive each others messages. One is transmitting properly but not receiving, the other is receiving the first's messages just fine. When I look at the traffic in wireshark, I can see the one transmitting properly as UDP packets on the subnet and port I had specified. The Second is transmitting on the right subnet and port, but is sending 'ADwin Config' packets. Has anyone run into anything simmilar? From some reading on ADwin from google, nothing is enlightening. Both are set up in the same way, have their own ports and List Identifiers. I have deleted the NVL files and regenerated them, cycled power, and even deleted and remade the NVL's so many times.

Hello Fraziersedge, the solution of Codesys might be to update your codesys to the lastest version but it was not possible for us. In our Codesys V3.5 SP9 patch 8 I was able to fix this bug. I change my ModbusTCP slave component version or one of the sub component version (ex: SysSocket). Look at the picture in attachement that's the receipe that have work for us. When I got the bug my version of ModbusTCP slave was 3.5.5.0 with SysSocket at 3.5.6.0 and I change to ModbusTCP slave 3.5.14.0 with same version 3.5.14.0 of SysSocket event if I still use codesys V3.5 SP9 patch 8.

Hi, I'm experiencing a bug with the latest version of SoftMotion CNC library (4.17), where the 3DPath object in Visu is missing all the important properties. I've verified that a previous app I was working on with library version 4.16 did not have this issue and the issue is duplicated in that project when I update it to 4.17. I've already submitted a bug report, but for the time being I need to revert the project I'm currently working on back a revision. I've tried right clicking on the library but the option to select the version is greyed out. Can anyone help me?

Unfortunately I noticed that, and tried: * using CryptoGeteAlgorithmByID within the function call * inputting the raw byte pointer as a testByte * instantiating the _hHash handle within the function body * using a different cryptoID or the raw DINT values from the RtsCryptoID DUT ... to no avail. The pReturn value is also set to 0, which would indicate that it is OK, right? This is odd given that the function is the same within the CryptoDemo example project here, just with a newer version. Is it possible that there is something wrong with the way my bytestring is being set up? I use the following DUTs here: TYPE MESSAGE : STRING(255); END_TYPE TYPE HASH_CODE : ARRAY[0..19] OF BYTE; END_TYPE

Hi, I am looking for exactly the same thing. I would think that using a layer 2/3 managed switch should work but I am not convinced. I would like to test it in order to see if it would be possible to run many Codesys Docker instances on a server and run only 1 ethernet cable from the server to a managed switch closer to the machines beeing controlled instead of having to run multiple long ethernet cables. I was going to buy a managed switch in order to test it but I want to first make sure it is possible and I want to figure out exactly what kind of switch I would need. Is this even possible? I think this is a feature that would be very useful paired with "Codesys Virtual Control SL". Thank you

If i loose the network and the opcua data source suddenly looses connection with the server, i get an exception and my application stops working. I am using the latest version of the communication add v4.5.2.0 Is this a known issue? This makes the datasource unusable because it is inevitable that we will loose connectivity at some point, and the datasource crashing everything due to that seems to be a deal breaker. I can provide more details is someone from codesys is reading this. You can recreate is by just shutting off the Opc server after the codesys data source is connected and reading data from it. The codesys app does not crash everytime and sometimes it is able to reconnect without crashing, so you may have to try this a few times to see the exception. Best regards

Hello everyone. Raspberry Pi CM4 after some 1 week of work was hard reset mannualy several times and after these hard resets User Management file was missed (when click login button, enter login/password, error: User Management File missed). Also programm can not open file via SysFile library, but this file exists and size of him is 0 bytes, but must be more any way (I keep some kind of archive via this lib). What happens, how files corrupted? Where do I need try to find this error of the codesys or system whole? In the log files of codesys nothing interesting about this happens. Thanks for reading Is this enough hold PlcLogic and SysFileMap.cfg as reserve copy in another place for restoring the programm? And how automate restoring actions if programm files corrupted?

I included the stub files of scriptengine (codesys python api) in a directory scriptengine of a project. I tried to include librarymanager like that: from scriptengine import librarymanager visual studio code detected an error. It said librarmanager could not be found. Indeed in the stub file, this was library_manager. But if I change it in my code, the plugin doesn t work anymore. I found an easy solution to this problem. I ve just changed the copied stub files.(library_manager -> librarymanager) But I think it would be better if you update it yourself in the future.
