Post by imdatatas on Problem of assigning physical addresses to variables of type ARRAY OF ARRAY as MW and QW CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I am encountering an interesting problem as below in SP20patch5 variable definition area. I think this is a bug. As can be seen in the attached screenshot, it assigns the same %MW or %QW address to all elements of the array. I hope Codesys team can solve this problem in the next version. Best regards, Imdat

Post by tvm on multiply gives negatives CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
It's probably because you have an INT in the input to the MUL function, which will then try to output an INT as well. INT variables can only handle values of -32768 to 32767. Your value of 523000 won't fit in an INT, so it turns into an invalid number. Use a DINT. This is usually better for working with time values anyway, because time values are all 32 bit. Or if you can't, use INT_TO_DINT(gvlp.detectie_nalooptijd_s) in the input to the MUL function.

Post by r-niedermayer on C0564 Warning Message CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Please see or Online Help on how to initialize variable before using them: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_pragma_attribute_global_init_slot.html Regarding the Attribute global_init_slot: You can use this pragma to influence the order in which signatures are processed during global initialization. It can only be applied to signatures. By default, the initialization sequence for variables from global variable lists is undefined! However, if, for example, variables from one list depend on variables from another list, it is necessary to initialize one before the other. (Aee OLH and Syntax) The placeholder <slot> must be replaced by an integer value that defines the position in the initialization sequence.</slot> The default value is 50000. A lower value causes an earlier initialization! If several signatures have the same value for the 'global_init_slot' attribute, the order of their initialization remains undefined! Cautious application should therefore be considered! Example: The project contains f.e. two global variable lists GVL_1 and GVL_2. The global variable "A" is part of the global variable list GVL_1: {attribute 'global_init_slot' := '300'} VAR_GLOBAL A : INT:=1000; END_VAR The initialization values of the variables "B" and "C" of GVL_2 are dependent on the variable "A". {attribute 'global_init_slot' := '350'} VAR_GLOBAL B : INT:=A+1; C : INT:=A-1; END_VAR So if you set the 'global_init_slot' attribute of the global variable list GVL_1 to 300, i.e. to the lowest initialization value in the example, then it is ensured that the expression "A+1" is well-defined at the time of initialization of "B".

Post by nha451 on EIP Scanner not receiving data from adapter CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I have an EtherNet IP adapter (GoPxL) running with a virtual PLC. I have successfully connected the adapter with green icons next to it. On WireShark I can see the data coming from GoPxL but on CODESYS it shows up as all 0. My firewall is turned off and I have enabled the device to always update variables. I tested my set up with Profinet and I can receive the data. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Post by pppn on Issue with Forward Open Connections in Ethernet/IP Protocol Stack in Codesys CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I am facing an issue with my Ethernet-based project in Codesys. My product was functioning well until I modified the protocol stack and uploaded it to my device. Here are the details of my problem: Project Setup: I am working on an Ethernet-based project to test my product. The project was running without issues before modifying the protocol stack. Issue: After modifying the protocol stack and uploading it to my device, I am encountering an error in Codesys related to the forward open connections. Error status: connection failure, extended: connection in use or duplicate forward open. According to the Ethernet/IP protocol, there are three forward open connections that need to be established. The first two connections are opening without any issues. The third connection, which is an input-only connection, is causing problems. The error message indicates that the connection is already open. Debugging Attempts: I have extensively debugged the protocol stack and found no issues. The product works well when tested with EIP tools but not with Codesys. Exclusive owner connections are working correctly, and only the input-only connection is problematic. Wireshark Traces: Wireshark traces show that the third connection attempts to open but reports that it is already open. Steps to Reproduce: Modify the protocol stack and upload it to the device. Attempt to establish three forward open connections in Codesys. Observe the error on the third connection (input-only). Request: I would appreciate any suggestions or guidance on how to resolve this issue. If there are specific settings or configurations in Codesys that I need to check, please let me know. Additionally, if there are known issues or workarounds related to this problem, I would be grateful for the information. Attachments: Wireshark traces showing the connection attempts and errors Screenshots of the error messages in Codesys codesys version: CODESYS V3.5 SP16 Patch 3 + 64 bit

I think more information is needed to help solve the issue. Can you list the exact steps to reproduce the issue? What version of Codesys are you using? Did you add a persistentVars object to your project? I would recommend browsing all instances of the retain variable to see all possible writes to the variable in question.

Post by sean-barton on FILE_OPERATION_DENIED CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have code written since version 3.5.16 to access the USB drive, how can I do that now the file access has been taken away? I have tried adding a sybolic link to the usb drive in the following directories: /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic/ /var/opt/CODESYS/PlcLogic/ /opt/CODESYS/PlcLogic/ I still recieve a "FILE_OPERATION_DENIED" response when accessing the USB drive.

Post by kevinrn on Signing Packages without exposing the password of the certificate CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Indeed, I'm also seeking a solution for this issue. The main challenge we face is the requirement to use EV (Extended Validation) Certificates. Due to security considerations, it's not possible—nor is it ever recommended in such cases—to export the certificate with its private key.

You could create a DUT of the Type Union and add an array of 2 bytes + an Int. Then write the byte values in the array of the Union and read the Int. Or VAR iInt : INT; byHigh : BYTE := 2#1111_1111; byLow : BYTE := 2#1111_1111; END_VAR iInt := TO_INT(byHigh*16#100 + byLow);

Hi, the option "Support client animations and overlay of native elements" needs a very powerful graphics accelerator in the system. I'm using the Pixsys srl "TC series" HMI with the code "P3" (so a 4+4 cores CPU) that runs very well also with this option active.

Ok, this is a test programme with ADS1115. It is currently configured for the TCA9548 muxboard. If you want to run the ADS1115 single, then change the settings to the default values: ‘Is Multiplex:’ False ‘Stage mux channel numbers:’ [0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0] It is also important that the libraries are installed correctly here. But should be in this project

Post by dkugler on EtherCAT Master: How many error frames till bus error CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
The story behind: I have had a EhterCAT fieldbus system where sometimes error frames occured. I noticed that the master is tolerant for some error frames, but if there are very much error frames the bus goes in error state. Does somebody know the limit of error frames above the bus changes to error state?

Post by trusty-squire on SysProcessCreate2 on Linux runtime CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I'm trying to launch a continuously running python script from Codesys and monitor the script status inside the Codesys runtime (running on a Linux enviroment). For now I'm testing with the below to emulate a continuously running Python script: #test.py i = 0 while True: i += 1 I'm able to successfully run the script using SysProcessExecuteCommand2 (I can see the Python process running in the task manager). However, this "freezes" the Codesys execution of the task - it sits on that command and will not continue until the Python script ends. I've proven this works by using the task monitor to kill the process, then Codesys continues on happily through the task. What I want to do is use SysProcessCreate2 to set up the Python script as a background task and monitor the process using SysProcessGetState. This always results in the error "ERR_OPERATION_DENIED". I know that I'm able to execute commands (as above), so my config should be correct. Is SysProcessCreate2 functional on a Linux environment? Is there something in the config file I'm missing? Here's my "working" code that uses SysProcessExecuteCommand2: VAR bTest : BOOL; sCommand : STRING := '/usr/bin/python3 /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic/Application/test.py'; refCommand : REFERENCE TO STRING REF= sCommand; sOutput : STRING; refOutput : REFERENCE TO STRING REF= sOutput; result : RTS_IEC_RESULT; END_VAR IF bTest THEN SysProcessExecuteCommand2( pszCommand:= refCommand, pszStdOut:= refOutput, udiStdOutLen:= SIZEOF(sOutput), pResult:= ADR(result) ); bTest:= FALSE; END_IF And here's the code that always results in the ERR_OPERATION_DENIED error: VAR bTest : BOOL; sApp : STRING := '/usr/bin/python3'; sCommand : STRING := '/var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic/Application/test.py'; refApp : REFERENCE TO STRING REF= sApp; refCommand : REFERENCE TO STRING REF= sCommand; hResult : SysProcess.RTS_IEC_RESULT; hHandle : SysProcess.RTS_IEC_HANDLE; END_VAR IF bTest THEN hHandle := SysProcessCreate2( pszApplication:= refApp, pszCommandLine:= refCommand, ulFlags:=SYSPROCESS_CREATEFLAG_HIDDEN, pResult:= ADR(hResult) ); bTest:= FALSE; END_IF Here's the relevant section from the config file at /etc/codesyscontrol/CODESYSControl.cfg: [SysProcess] Command=AllowAll Appreciate any support or ideas. Thanks!

Hello, Working in 3.5 SP11 32 bit and using the 3S CANopenSafety Slave 3.5.11.0 library on an IFM CR711S. The 3SCSSD.CANOpenDevicesSIL2 function block keeps throwing "UNSAFESTACK_NOT_OPERATIONAL" Additionally, the Status of the device gives "There was an error accessing an I/O parameter". Any ideas on where my issues may lay? I have not found any good documentation that would explain the issue.

Try changing the port mode to digital input for each port you want to have 2 inputs in the connection settings for the device. I've successfully used ports for inputs on an AL1920 this way, I think the procedure should be the same for an AL1332.

Post by florian on Stepper Drive with Ethercat CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Codesys has a motion libraries (SoftMotion), but you need to buy a licence keys for them to work. the most basic one is SoftMotionLight. you just have to select your drive in the device view and add a SoftMotionLight CiA402 axis. then the library is added to your project. You can use the SML_* motion FBs and configure the axis now.

from another post on this forum .... In your library project select Project -> Project Information. On the Properties table remove the "LanguageModelAttribute" Value "Qualified Access Only". This will allow you to access the object without qualifying the access. ...... I guess they've compiled it the library with that setting and now I need to mess around with versions.
