Hi, I wanted to use the Adafruit Hat for the Raspberry and get acquainted with Softmotion using servos for RC models. This did work great with Codesys 3.5.19 Patch 1, but with Patch 4 and 5 i get errors. I suspect changes in the SoftMotion library have broken dependencies in the legacy drivers, might that be true? Hello, I hope someone could help me. I installed the newest Codesys 3.5 SP 20 Patch 1. When loading the demo files from @i-campbell I can upgrade them to the latest version and everthing works on the OPC-UA client side as expected (object "a" is visible, I can use the "ExampleMethod"). Now I * remove the "Information Model", * delete the "OPC_UA_Symbols Objects", * Add "Information Model" again * add "TestRootObjectType" again and "Generate IEC declarations" * and search for mapped instances (to get instance "a" again) Very good still working as expected. Now I delete the OPC_UA_Symbols and add it again referring to the "objecttest" from 16.9.2020. Also I redo the steps from above. The result is now, that I can't see the "a" object in the "Root/Objects" folder. Why ist this and how can I make it running? I think, it could may be a different version of the UA configuration file. I tried to build my own model definition files and got the same problem (but I am really not an expert). When someone has a actual model, which is also running in the actual Codesys I would be very grateful. Or even better, how to make the correct model in e.g. UA Modeler SW (I followed the description https://documentation.unified-automation.com/uamodeler/1.6.0/html/howprojnet_sec.html).

I use Peak USB adapter daily to download from CoDeSys 2.3 and 3.5 to IFM, EPEC and other controllers. The process: - First you need to install the appropriate driver. Link: https://www.peak-system.com/Drivers.523.0.html?&L=1 - Restart the computer - Start the CoDeSys application - Change the name of the adapter in Communication parameters, as mentioned in previous comment. Write the name exactly as written "Peak_USB", as it could also be case sensitive (defines which .dll file to use). If this doesn't work I would contact the vendor of the controller to find out the procedure. In the attachment I've added a FAQ document from IFM regarding using PCAN USB. P.S. I've noticed in your picture of communication parameters a channel via TCP/IP is mentioned. In this case a USB to CAN connection is not being used. First you should change the channel/gateway to connect via CANbus or connect using an Ethernet cable.

I think it depends on what you consider as redundant. Is it allowed to plug the network cable in another device (server), move the USB key with license to the other device (server) and then start it up? Or should it automatically switch over within msec and take over the communication with the I/O flawlessly without noticing the switchover? We helped several customers setting up the CODESYS Redundancy functionality and the nice thing is that when you have it up and running, you can easily switchover from active to passive and when you download a new applicaiton, CODESYS handles the update of boot project on the passive controller automatically. Sure this will require an additional license and the license for redundancy, but if your installation is that critical it should be worth it. Please contact us (Extend Smart Coding) if you need any further information. We could help you setup the configuration and possibly provide the licenses for it (I noticed you are situated in the Netherlands).

Hi all. I am currently struggling to get my Wago PFC200 running the Codesys Runtime in version 4.9.0.0 working. I am using Codesys V3.5SP19. I updated the PFC200 to the firmware version 04.01.10(23) after having tried the latest version (04.03.03(25) from Wago and not being able to start the runtime. After reading version 23 was needed, I changed to that and at least was able to have it start the codesys runtime. I also installed the "Codesys Control for PFC200 SL 4.9.0.0" plugin for Codesys to install the Codesys runtime in version 4.9.0.0 as well as update the Gateway on the device. While I seem to be able to connect to the gateway on the PLC (the dot is green) and when doing a scan, I do now find my PFC200, which is a huge improvement to before, where with firmware version 25 it just failed to start the runtime and I never found any device when doing a scan. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to connect to the PLC in codesys. I logged in via SSH and changed the password and I can see that this password is correct as the stuff in the Codesys PFC200 tools tab only works if I use my changed password. And I used those credentials to update the installed Runtime version, which the log claimed to have worked fine. Now whenever I try to connect to the device found in the scan, I get a authentication pop-up with empy device name, device address: 000A. As User I use "root" and as password the password that I changed it to. As a response I just get "Ungültige Benutzerauthentifizierung auf dem Gerät" (Eng. probably something like "Invalid user authentication on the device". What could I be doing wrong? Hi all, I want to know if someone has an idea of how I can write on value change in Modbus Codesys. I have a Wago PLC and I was used to work with E-cockpit which it was quite easy to do that without the necessity to trigger any value when there was a change in the variable ( I will put how easy is ). how you can see just changing the trigger in "On value Change" will do that channel writing automatically when It detects a change in those arrays. On the other hand, in Codesys if I enable the rising edge in Codesys It ask me to put a bool variable and if triggers is going to write that value. That is making me that I have to create a function or a logic to detect the change, the problem I have is that doing that is very tedious. I first approach I got it was to create a Function who returns a bool when the value change, but I tried to keep the old value but what is happening is that in Functions all the data is erased every cycle so I can not keep any Old value. so in the Main program the trigger is going to be TRUE all the time due, the old value is cero every cycle. The second approach I got it was using a function Block (POU_1) and it works but I dont want to instance that function for every Channel or value that I want to check if the value change, Basically if I have 200 values to write trhough modbus I have to create 200 instances of that function which I think it is not practicall at all. It should be a better way to implement this as e-Cockpit from Wago Does. However, I haven't been able to know how.

Hi there! I'm using eCockpit WAGO software to develop HMI's for multiple projects. As I recently starting this, my knowledge on the software is somewhat limited (so maybe my question is a simple one). For most of my projects I can simulate the application and start it to test the code and HMI. However for two projects, I can initiate the "simulation activation" but I cannot start it. Nothing happens when I press start and the visualization shows "The online visualization is waiting for connection. please start the application". - I don't see any errors in the messages - Initially the project are made by a colleague, which moved on. I guess I'm forgetting something, like missing a setting. I appreciate any help I can get. If you need more information to help me out, let me know. Thanks!

Build: CODESYS 3.5 SP19 Patch 1 (64-bit) Host OS: Windows 10 Target: Linux SL I have a project with programs in Structured Text and Ladder Diagram. When I try to use the Find function, it works for the Active Editor; however, when I try to use Find for the Entire Project, I get the error "Object reference not set to the instance of an object." I know what this error means in the context of the program, but I have no idea why the find function is returning this error. The variable I am searching does not matter: it happens with all variables. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. I generally use the Find function quite often as I am developing and not having it is really slowing me down.

Hello , I am new to codesys ,working with it for just 15-17 days so ,i think i am able to installed it and configure it ,not i want to use ardunio program (smart dustbin ,college project using motor and Ultrasonic Module HC-SR04 and servo motor). i use ardunio program to write code with chatgpt to work ardunio as a modbus rtu as i dont have ethernet or wifi shild ,i wrote program in ariduno but now don have idea what change i have to make in codesys to comunicate as modbus slave it give error with bus error ,where i can get all errors ? Hi, I am looking for exactly the same thing. I would think that using a layer 2/3 managed switch should work but I am not convinced. I would like to test it in order to see if it would be possible to run many Codesys Docker instances on a server and run only 1 ethernet cable from the server to a managed switch closer to the machines beeing controlled instead of having to run multiple long ethernet cables. I was going to buy a managed switch in order to test it but I want to first make sure it is possible and I want to figure out exactly what kind of switch I would need. Is this even possible? I think this is a feature that would be very useful paired with "Codesys Virtual Control SL". Thank you

Hi All, I use the analysis page in automation server to capture historical trends from my PLC - i only sample one point per hour but it does the job (for now) One issue I have is I often log on to analysis page to find the system has stopped recording trends from my PLC. To fix this, I need to choose "state information" in the "List view" under PLC and click "Reconnect" When I do this I see my variables listed under "parameters" under "PLC Details" start updating again and the trend in Data analyzer continues to update. My Question, Why do I need to manually reconnect? Is there a way to get automation server to automatically reconnect to the PLC so I continue to capture data from the PLC? Regards, Trent

Hello, I am having trouble figuring out the proper location for my virtual runtime to create a .CSV file. No matter the file location I set, I get error 14 (CANNOT_OPEN_DIRECTORY). I have tried multiple different file paths ('/', '/var/opt/codesysvcontrol/PlcLogic', '/var/opt/codesys/'). I understand that there is only certain places that Codesys can read/write. I am also running this virtual runtime in a Podman container. Does anyone know what the location should be? I attached the archive I was using, a project that tests CSV capability that I borrowed from someone else. Thanks!

Hi Guys, I am new to this forum and i would like to ask od anyone got communication with Siemens v20 vfd working via Modbus RTU? I followed many websites and finally got the communication working but have problema with read/write registers. For example if i try to read holding register 40011 which is accel time i get noth but when i set the offset 0x0000 en length 113 i get ale the registers. I cannot get speed control working. I read someth about stw (control Word) and hsw but have some problems to understand it en get it working. It would be really nice if someone could help me with it. Thx

I have added a models in SiOME which a software to design nodes and add instances. and created a resultant xml file. I tried to import the xml file to Codesys through OPC UA information model Repository the problem i don't know how to view my objects which i have designed. and map it to my PLC to make viewable on my server UaExpert. I watched the tutorial video https://youtu.be/aJhzN3Uk-Do?feature=shared. But it only give you how to add the Information model, and my resultant model doesn't have information type. So how in Codesys i can view a model which i have designed in SiOME and mapped my instances (Objects, Variable or methods) with my Variables in PLC I saw people do it in Tia Portal or other Software, but i have no clue how to do it on CODESYS

Make sure the O->T and T->O bytes required by the remote device match the configuration in Codesys. Most of the EDS files I've imported have not worked by default. See the attached images for the connections and assemblies tabs. Note that the connections are in Bytes and the assemblies are in bits, you have to have enough bits to equal the bytes. Either mismatch will give a red/orange triangle. Page 343 of the manual (assuming the STF10-IP is an applied motion microstep driver) has some recommended connection settings, you should be able to confirm the input and output bits somehow, some devices have a web GUI, some require a software tool.

Does the device have a green icon next to it when the PLC is running? If not you have some kind of communication problem, wireshark may be picking up some data but the scanner may not be configured correctly to receive the data. Check the T>O and O>T bytes and make sure they match on both the scanner and adapter. I've had very little success loading a .eds file and having the configuration work without some manual configuration. If you have a green icon, have you enabled the device to always update variables?

I have an IFM cr1077 display. I would like to show B&R mapp view on IFM visualization. I used coedsys web browser elemnt for this. I could see IFM working fine in Internet web browser but IFM device shows white screen and freezes. I think there is problem with IFM showing the web browser. Is my understanding of the web visu right? am I doing any mistake here?

Hi, I am new to modbusTCP and I am trying to access Input registers from codesys (3.5.SP13). The offset is 16#0000 and I am trying to access Channel 1[24] %IW24 to pull analog values. I am using pyModbusTCP and I need to supply a modbus address and the number of registers to read. What does 16#0000 mean in terms of the actual offset, how do I translate this number plus the channel to access this info via python? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Hi all, I need a help. I want to create Frame where some parameters are done via reference input to this frame. What I have realized that if I use for Label/Caption etc. string variable (%s) it is not included in translation list. I found out what I was doing wrong. I was entering the wrong IP in the gateway. I found that I have to enter the RPi's IP in the gateway field from this post https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/01703ca970/#d9f6 But I do not understand why it has to be the RPi's IP. Could anyone help me in clarifying this?

I watched on youtube that i must delete folder from "ProgramData/CODESYS/CODESYSControlWinV3x64" But the problem is that in the the CODESYS there is no folder named CODESYSControlWinV3X64. I checked if the folder is hidden but it's just not there. I can't find it and can't reset the password. Could you help me to reset this password. I even tried to uninstall and install the CODESYS but nothing helps.

The origianl version with create of project was 3.5.13.10 I can change version to Master Ethercat 3.5.13.10 to 3.5.16.70 but i can´t update the last version 4.4.0.0 (I attached the screen "Version Master OK-NO OK"). In the moment update to the last version appear a lot of error("Version Master NO OK") Can anyone help me please?

I would like to do it without device, only using ST. Is that possible ? I try the example : MODBUS_master_example, but it is not working.
