Hello everyone, I have a working SPI connection (with transferExt) between a Raspberry master with Codesys and an ESP32 slave. I would also like to use a few GPIO pins. Is there a problem with using SPI AND GPIOs? Environment: Raspberry Pi 4+ with Raspian from Oct 23 Codesys V3.4 SP19 Patch 5 with Runtime Version 4.10.0.0 Device: GPIOs B+/Pi2 My problem: The status is displayed as “GPIOs : not running”. And also during mapping the message “The bus is not running. The values shown are perhaps not actual”. However, the variable changes that I make in my program are displayed under “Current Value”. In the Logic Analyzer, the pin toggles during transmission with small intervals of +-4us (seems to be a cyclical disorder, but I don't know where exactly it could be coming from). This applies to pins that I actually use (output) but also to the other GPIOs (not used). With GPIO 4, the line remains permanently high. Attached is a screenshot from the Logic Analyzer. Channel 1,3,5 were GPIO pin 26, 22, 17 Would be very grateful for help. Best regards

With the example I have now managed to control the trace recording via the CmpTraceMgr library. But how do I get this trace recording into a visual element? Hi, after updating CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL from patch level 18 to 21 (currently 4.21.0.0), the IoDrvGPIO driver ("GPIOs B+/Pi2") can no longer open any GPIO chip on a Raspberry Pi 5. Log output on login: Could not open GPIOChip0. Access to path /dev/gpiochip0 not allowed. Add /dev/gpiochip0 to permitted paths in configuration file if required Could not open GPIOChip4. Trying to open GPIOChip0 Access to path /dev/gpiochip4 not allowed. Add /dev/gpiochip4 to permitted paths in configuration file if required Could not open any GPIOChip. System details: Raspberry Pi 5, 32-bit Raspberry Pi OS (armv7l), kernel 6.12.47+rpt-rpi gpiodetect correctly shows gpiochip0 [pinctrl-rp1] (54 lines) as the RP1 GPIO controller Runtime: CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL 4.21.0.0, Runtime Toolkit SP21+ This worked without issues before the update to SP21. I've tried adding the following to CODESYSControl_User.cfg without success: ini[CmpCharDevice] Linux.DevicePath.1=/dev/gpiochip0 Linux.DevicePath.2=/dev/gpiochip4 Could you tell me the correct section/key to whitelist /dev/gpiochip0 (and /dev/gpiochip4) for CmpCharDevice? I suspect this is part of the general security hardening introduced around SP21 (similar to ForceIecFilePath for SysFile, or the new Gateway "accept local clients only" default), but I couldn't find it documented anywhere. Hello, I’m working on implementing Modbus RTU communication with a Carel controller (CPCO). I want to use the front RS485 interface through the DB9 connector. The issue is that I can’t get the communication working correctly. Below are the steps I’ve done so far: Connected pins 3 and 8 from the DB9 connector to the +/- RX/TX terminals on the Carel side. In the PLC shell, I set serialmode to RS485. In WBM under Administration > Serial Interface > Assign owner of serial interface, I set the port to unassigned. In the device tree, I created Modbus_COM with the following settings: COM port: 1 Baud rate: 19200 Parity: None Stop bits: 1 Created a Modbus client on this COM interface in RTU mode. Under the status tab, I can see it is in running state. On the client, I created a Modbus server and set the Modbus address of my unit to 1. Defined a few channels as FC03 to read holding registers according to the Carel register map. I checked the communication with the Carel controller using a USB-to-RS485 converter connected to my PC, and communication works correctly there. In the status tab, I can see that the Modbus server is polling, but there is no response from the controller. I also tried multiple times swapping A/B lines on the Carel side, but it did not help. Do you have any suggestions on what else I should check?

Hello everyone, I'm using the IoT Library to implement the MQTT communication with my local broker server in order to publish and subscribe at specifics topics to share and consume information about my application. But, it seems that are occurring some memory leak problem in a "high" frequency (more than 10 Hz) subscribe process. I follow the same method as in IoT Lib exemples, and at first looks perfect but my PLC was rebooting frequently and when I check its memory usage that was increasing as fast as the subscribe massage was sent. I'm using a WEG PLC410 and a WEG PLC500, and this error occurred in both of them (including in CODESYS Control Win x64). The application sends to the system a message JSON with the float payload Ex. {"data" : 0.8500}, but this happens with a INT, or BOL as well. I not try to open project but i open Codesys and then create a new project and when try to generate code i have the error :/ I notiche a strnge situation. I have two different software on my pc: CODESYS V3.5 SP15 Patch 4 (with this my new program not work but can open and work with some course example); CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 2 (with this my custom program work) Wich version i must be choose? Hello, I´m connected to two drives via CANOPEN. The connection seems to be ok. However, I´m not able to get the PDOs to work even tho they are configured as in the manual of the drives. Looking at the SDOs I´ve seen that for each PDO there is a "Disable PDO" SDO that does not exist in the manual or in the EDS file of the drives. This "Disable PDO" signal has the same Index and Subindex as another SDO used to set and enable the COB-ID of the PDO. I´m assuming this is normal but why is Codesys creating a "Disable PDO" SDO for each PDO and could that be the reason the PDOs are not working?

Hi, I haven´t noticed you put the comment here. I thing it´s a bit different. What I want is to have detail errors of technology in data type e.g. INT. This variable I would latch to the corresponding error msg but I would like to get it convert to text from the text list and not keep it in INT form. Example. Main error Valve Error: SubErrors 1 - Both sensors 2 - Not retracted in time 3 - Not pulled out in time In HMI Main error + latch SubErrors => "Valve Error: Both sensors" The benefit is that text lists are part of translation and can be easily manipulated. I know I can create whole string msg in PLC but then, it lose advantage of Alarm management. Thanks. M.

Hallo, I have a strange problem with the recipe manager. ISSUE: When using RecipeManCommands not all values are loaded correctly. Saving a recipe with CreateRecipe(), ReadAndSaveRecipe() or ReadAndSaveRecipeAs() works without any problems. BUT: LoadRecipe(), WriteRecipe() or LoadFromAndWriteRecipe() do not load the data correctly. It is Interesting that we have a different error pattern with LoadRecipe() than with WriteRecipe() or LoadFromAndWriteRecipe(). LoadRecipe() does not load all data and WriteRecipe() or LoadFromAndWriteRecipe() overwrites some data or assigns it incorrectly. And it is also strange that LoadRecipe() writes the values to the PLC. Normally it doesn’t do it. It makes no difference whether the memory type is textual or binary. I have an object consisting of STRUCTs which is inserted in the recipe definition. Environment: Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 4 (64Bit), Recipe Management 4.2.0.0 *Add a project (reduced to the problem)

Thank you for an answer. Unfortunatelly, it doesn't work. The slave needs command byte as follows 0x22. It means expedited transfer where s-bit is not set, therefore data length is not specified. If I use segmented mode by CiA405.SDO_WRITE_DATA it produce command byte as follows 0x21 which is unfortunately supported by the slave and it returns with error 0x05040001 - SDO Abort Code -Client/server command specifier not valid or unknown. I can use CAN API low level to overcome this problem where it is possible to set 0x22 as a command byte, but than I can use user interface to set the communication probably, because I thing that machine expert uses library CiA405.SDO_WRITE for setting the slave. Or am I wrong?

In a recent project with SoftMotion 4.15.0.0, where I integrated two SD drives from CMZ (from catalogue EDS and not imported), on CANopen bus, I found that the SoftMotion MC_Reset function does not reset the drive faults. Even if the drive is in fault, either on the device or on the drive at the CoDeSys level, the function does not reset, instead reporting the error code: no error to reset. Finally, I had to connect the reset bit of the ControlWord directly to a tag in my program. Something I never had to do on other drives: Lexium, etc. all reset simply with MC_Reset.

@gepert, When you say "I do not turn off power", are you saying you don't power off the drive, or you don't turn of the MC_POWER function block? I read your statement as you don't kill actual electrical power. MC_POWER should stay enabled. @Gustavo, not related to problem at all, but when you say 1.6 Nm is only enough torque to unscrew a loose bottle cap, I think that's a bit low. A quick mental math I use is 1 Nm is almost the same force as 1kG applied to a 10cm wrench. So 1.6kG applied to a 10cm wrench is still not a huge force, but more than enough to be felt if trying to turn the shaft by hand.

I guess, I need to add entry SysEthernet to this .cfg file: C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64...\CODESYSControl.cfg like this one: [ComponentManager] Component.1=CmpTargetVisuStub Component.2=CmpWebServer Component.3=CmpWebServerHandlerV3 Component.4=SysCpuMultiCore Component.5=SysReadWriteLock Component.6=SysCpuBreakpoints Component.7=SysPipeWindows Component.8=SysEthernet But I'm not sure about Npcap vs WinpCap. Please, if applicable, update these instructions.

I had a similar situation recently where this didn't work, but read to the end to see the solution. The reason is that CODESYS only downloads visualisations (dialogs) if they are part of the project or linked to the project. In your case the dialog is not loaded onto the controller. But the solution is pretty simple: Double click on the Visualization Manager in your application. Select the Tab "Visualizations". Here you can see that your dialog is not "checked". Do this manually and load your project on the controller. Then your code should be able to open the dialog, because now it exists on the controller.

Hello, by searching the forum, I have found an example of batch script that can be used to start codesys projct by temporarily setting env variables. However, I'm not sure how to modify this to start Codesys 3.5.20 and whether or not I need to specify "profile" with Codesys version at all. @echo off SET PROJECT=D:\TestScripts\Data\OnlineTest.project SET VARIABLES=POU.testint,POU.testoutput start /wait CoDeSys.exe --profile="CoDeSys V3.4 SP3" --noUI --runscript="D:\TestScripts\Forum_Environment.py" I have tried the following just to open the test project: SET PROJECT=C:\TEST\Example.project start CODESYS.exe --profile="CODESYS V3.5 SP20 Patch 2" But I'm not sure how to specify this project to be open after py script is executed. The py script should first add required library to the project and then project should be open.

Codesys Windows (Main window as well as pop-ups) often appear outside of the viewable are in Windows when using multiple Monitors. This is exacerbated (happens more very often), when working on a notebook with different Monitor setups at different locations (which kind of is standard nowadays). The windows (not even the main Window) can not be recovered using standard short cuts like WIN + Arrow keys, alt + tab etc. The only way we found to recover the windows is by changing the Monitor positions in thew Windows Display Settings and than changing them back EVERY TIME a pop us is displayed. This makes using Codesys close to unbearable. All my colleagues face the same problem and do not have this problem with any other IDE. Please help.

😁 Yes, exactly... I have a clue about the why not... But really, it was many years, releases ago... Agree, this is not a functionality customers would pay for, but it's one rendering the product cool and contemporary. Like many other "simple" features like: Opening multiple projects within the same IDE Not just attaching, but editing diverse files inside the IDE (like XML, TXT, SVG?) Use 3rd, CODESYS independent plugins, editors inside the IDE... Isn't it possible to integrate CODESYS Engineering under VS? Or just use the core functionality from VS? Or the LINUX guys have a better idea?

Hi, When trying to activate a control Basic L license on a Wago PFC200 750-8203 the error The selected container ... does not fit your ticket comes up and won't allow licensing. I have deleted the /var/opt/codesys/cmact_license/ content 3 times and the container number changed each time after a reboot, but the problem persists. Not a happy first time experience with those weird application based licenses. IDE is 19.20. This was a e!Cockpit FW22 PLC and I used Deploy Control SL to make the green web interface red. WBM shows Codesys 2 and e!Runtime active which is a bit weird. What do I do now? Regards Heinz

Hi All, I have problem with ModbusFB.ClientSerial. I'm using 4 different port for Modbus communication. After some time of running program ClientSerial stops to receive data to reply buffer and all request finish with Reply Timeout. The Device sent reply correctly,that it is visible on oscilloscope and it is possible to see that data( reply )are in the device. If the usbtty device is read over external app. then it is possible to see all data which were not taken by ModbusFB.ClientSerial. The stack does not overflow or something , program runs correctly forward and no exceptions or something. The main problem it is that when the error occur than it is not possible to reset port or something or maybe i'm doing it wrong way. please help me with this issue.
