Hi I am about to configure ALL GPIOs on a Raspberry Pi 3 model B V1.2. It seems that I have limited understanding of why not all the IO’s become available with the corresponding mapped IO’s – the 'dwInUse' contains mapping of the inputs from GPIO0 to GPIO27. But 'dwInputs' are only showing GPIO0 to GPIO8 and GPIO15 as available inputs. We made a ladder code to control a process, and it works well, but we want some variables to remain stored even when the controller is turned off. We tried to use retain variables, but at the time of loading the program, when we went offline from the controller, the program was deleted, it did not remain in the controller, and in the same way if we turned off the controller. Sorry for being late to the party... so it is not possible to use the webbrowser tool to display external websites in a visu anymore? As it is not possible to simply "adjust the ContentSecurityPolicyIncludeTrustedOrigins setting in the automatically generated webvisu.cfg.json file" as stated in the docs? We need to display data read from a Raspberry Pi (part of our computer network) in our webvisu. We used to do it by entering the Pi's IP address as the URL variable in the webbrowser element but now (I don't know since when, I'm new on the job) "The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource (frame-src) at 'IP address' because it violates the following directive: “default-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline'”. What are the options for displaying the data?

I know, that is not the issue though. The issue is the HMI_Blower_Auto_PB variable not changing to false. I do not have the IO modules plugged in yet, that is why there are NaN values for those variables. That should not affect this.

For the Virtual Control you need to use a "Network license". The Virtual Control has parameters of which one is the reference to the license server. This can be the device itself, but you need to activate the license on the host system (not in the container). For this, CODESYS has a Network License server with WBM (web based management). See for the Network License configuration: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_license_controller_linux.html If it is only for evaluation, I would advise to use a CODESYS (USB) key and activate the license on the key. Then you still have to install the CODESYS Network License server on the host, but you don't have to activate the license as soft license on the device. The benefit is that you can easily move your license to another device when needed. Off course your device must have a free USB port available to be able to do this.

I found out that the Codesys simulation mode is not good to measure performance. As soon as I upload the code onto the hardware PLC I can see that my visu-task needs around 60 ms to complete. I'm wondering if there is a possibility to find out which visualization/visualization element takes a lot of computing time? Then I would look for ways to decrease the long computing time.

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with my problem. I am new to programming and am currently working with a WAGO controller in our lab, which controls a heat pump. My goal is to send the electrical power of the heat pump (Pel_WP) via a UDP connection to a specific IP address. I am using Codesys version 2.3 and following the guide I found here: https://forge.codesys.com/forum/de/396/genmed-Konfiguration%20der%20UDP%20Kommunikation%20Cosesys%20S7.pdf. I have adapted the guide to suit my needs. The data sending works since I can force the reception value Pel_WP and the data is sent accordingly. However, I am having trouble with the receiving part. The reception value is not being correctly received, and the diSocket variable shows -1. The connection between the heat pump and the WAGO controller seems to be set up correctly, as the heat pump is listed under the communication parameters with the correct IP address. I have also attached images to provide a better view of the setup. I would greatly appreciate any support or suggestions for a solution. Thank you in advance!

The following guide describes how you can adapt the user management for the first time in a project. It deals with the definition of a user and a group to which he belongs. Requirement: the project for which the user management is to be set up is opened. There is no adapted user configuration yet. Select Project Settings ‣ Users and Groups and then the Users tab. The user Owner is already created by default. Click on Add. ⇒ The dialog box Add User appears. Enter a login name, for example ‘Dev1’, and a password. Leave the option Activated activated. Click on OK. ⇒ On creating a group for the first time, CODESYS now requests you to authenticate yourself to perform this action. In this case, enter ‘Owner’ as the current user. Do not enter a password, just click on OK. The user Dev1 appears in the list and is automatically a member of the group 'Everyone'. Change to the tab Groups, in order to add the user to a new group. ⇒ The groups Everyone and Owner have already been created. Click on Add in order to open the dialog box Add Group. Specify at least one name for the new group, for example ‘Developers’. Activate the checkbox next to the entry User ‘Dev1’ in the field Members. Click on OK. ⇒ The group Developers now appears with has user member 'Dev1'. Switch to the Users tab. ⇒ The user Dev1 now appears as a member of the groups ‘Everyone’ and ‘Developers’.

Change to the tab Groups, in order to add the user to a new group. ⇒ The groups Everyone and Owner have already been created. Click on Add in order to open the dialog box Add Group. Specify at least one name for the new group, for example ‘Developers’. Activate the checkbox next to the entry User ‘Dev1’ in the field Members. Click on OK. ⇒ The group Developers now appears with has user member 'Dev1'. Switch to the Users tab. ⇒ The user Dev1 now appears as a member of the groups ‘Everyone’ and ‘Developers’.

Hello Fraziersedge, the solution of Codesys might be to update your codesys to the lastest version but it was not possible for us. In our Codesys V3.5 SP9 patch 8 I was able to fix this bug. I change my ModbusTCP slave component version or one of the sub component version (ex: SysSocket). Look at the picture in attachement that's the receipe that have work for us. When I got the bug my version of ModbusTCP slave was 3.5.5.0 with SysSocket at 3.5.6.0 and I change to ModbusTCP slave 3.5.14.0 with same version 3.5.14.0 of SysSocket event if I still use codesys V3.5 SP9 patch 8.

The problem has been resolved. Two findings are described below for future reference. The new RPi hw delivered during August 2025 has a MAC address from a new vendor series that is not supported by old runtimes. 4.17.0.0 or above is required. 4.17.0.0 does not pick up the correct architecture during installation and aarch64 has to be manually configured either in the GUI under operations or in /etc/codesyscontrol/CODESYSControl_User.cfg under the [CmpRasPi] section.

Hi, My PLC/controller doesn't support OPC UA, so my current plan to create a ringbuffer/circular logger is to connect a raspberry pi to it, use the Network Variable List receiver and sender and raspberry pi codesys runtime to get the variables to the raspberry pi, after which I will use the pi which DOES support OPC UA to get the variables to a python program which logs the desired variables for a certain amount of time for me, would this work? I don't want to spend 50+ euros + licencing fees for a solution that might not work.
