Hi, I've read the CamBuilder documentation and it shows to use the left boundary of the first segment as SMCB.BoundImplicit(), so that the transition is as smooth as possible. With this it sets X and Y to 0. My first slave position is not 0 (say for example it's 100), so I would set it with SMCB.Bound(0,100). My question is that when the cam goes back to the start (Periodic := TRUE) , will it blend with the last position (360, 100) if I do this? I imagine it will, but the documentation isn't clear as the information in the Periodic Cams only says to set Smooth Transition in the cam properties - but when I'm defining it with code there isn't an option for Smooth Transition to be set. Hello, We have a problem with CodeSys on a raspbery pi with an ADS1015 analog to I2C module. It can't find the I2C device on the i2c bus, it says No I2C Driver Found. When we use the RPI terminal we can find the I2C device and read it out. The i2c-1 bus is also accessible from codesys. The device address of the Analog to I2C module is 0x48. Can someone have a look what the problem is? i submitted the screenshots in the attachments. i also include the device description and library.

@imdatatas, thanks for the info, I increased DSP402.uiHomingMinCycles to 10 and have a good feeling that will solve the issue of "false" homings. It's an intermittent issue so I'll report back once it's confirmed. @bruno-roth, also good info. According to my documentation, bit 14 is used to indicate the homed status. I did a test and the bit always stays true after it's been homed once (eg. even if I initiate a new homing procedure then hit the the e-stop mid homing), so I need to take that into consideration, but I can work with that. Hello, I am already able to run an OPC UA method in Codesys. Now my question, how can I interact with other tasks (e.g. read an SDO from EtherCAT and return it by the function)? The OPC UA method seems to be called only once (I tried to return BOOL or UINT values). Up to now I only found to do a while loop to wait for the result of the other task. Is there a better way to do it? Is this the way OPC UA functions should be used (for "not too long" function calls) or should I use another mechanism (method: Start, event: Finish, method: getResult)? Regards

Hi, It's my first time operating in Codesys 2.3, but I have done a good amount of Codesys programming, so I'm a little familiar. I haven't done a lot of RTU, but a lot of Modbus TCP. I don't have the PLC in my reach at the moment, but I'm trying to be a little ahead. We're adding the 750-652 module to read energy from a flowmeter over RTU. There will only be 1 slave. I attached pictures of my current hardware, PLC code, the register datasheet from the slave and the only modbus serial library I seem to have available. I'm uncertain if this will work. Any help or clarification on how things work will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Wanted to play a bit with a raspberry Pi 4 Model B HW 1.5 and Codesys. Regardless of the image (tried 32bit / 64bit version from Raspberry Pi Imager) and with all tested Codesys Control versions (4.2.0, 4.8.0, 4.10.0) and regardless if single core / multicore / 64 bit variant, always is the runtime stopped after about 30sec with the nice message: ooops... this runtime was built for RASPBERRYPI. Hardware version or firmware version not supported! (-7, 0x00000BB8, 0xFFFFFFFB) Whats wrong with it?!?!? I read a lot about the issue in topics from 2020-2021 but it always was stated with new Codesys control version issue will be fixed (4.4 for example) but still it is there.

Yes, it is possible to set breakpoints and use step into / step over (also in Ladder diagram). Yes, the PLC will actually stop, so be carefull with this. How a PLC works is that at the start of the execution of the Task, the Inputs are read, then the code is being executed and then the outputs are written. So if you set a breakpoint, you will not see your analog inputs changing, because the task cycle is interrupted and the inputs and outputs are not refreshed. Hi, I am running Codesys Runtime by purchasing 'Codesys control for raspberry pi MC SL', I am trying to use the Variables from my GVL's. Few of the variables used as a Pushbutton form the Visualization. These 'BOOL' Variable getting unlatched automatically even though there is no write function in the Overall project. All of them are 'Read' functions, at the same time few other BOOL variable behaviors are seems to be fine. I have tried, clean all and download, serval time restarted the hardware. Happy to share any any information. Your input to resolve this issue would be highly appriciated. Version Details: codesyscontrol 4.8.0.0, armhf codesyscontrol based on SDK 3.5.19.0

I'm trying to work with Codesys Control for Linux ARM64 SL 4.18.0.0 on a Toradex Verdin NXP iMX8MP. I have the runtime installed and operational as well as Codemeter lite 8.40.7141.503 (arm64). I'm running 3.5.20.60 and when "Scan Network" I see the Verdin popup. When I try to connect to it, the "mandatory use of the user management" popup shows...which makes sense. I click YES and enter user information and click OK. It immediately displays a "No device is responding to the scan request" popup. The IDE can see the Verdin in the scan...so this popup does not make sense to me. I thought maybe it was a read only issue but I've made all partitions and paths RW. Has anyone experienced this? Can anyone tell me where it is trying to write user data?

After some more digging I realized that I get an error on the PLC Logger saying PersistenceChannel: 150 (invalid type in data: SimpleLibrary). As I wrote before on the title, I have difficulties to connect to see webvisu from localhost. The story: while waiting for the plc+hmi to arrive, I'm preparing the software, mainly the visual parts trough the control Win3 x64 (same version as the ide 3.5.20.10). The problem is that I can't see the webvisu with the installed webbrowser. I don't know if this is a problem, but I changed the port to 9001 (randomly "free") because 80, 8000, 8080, 8088, 3000 are all occupied by other projects (all on the Apache server). Is there something wrong with the config file? This is the url: localhost:9001/webvisu_app.htm and here the config file part "CmpWebServer". Hi, after updating CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL from patch level 18 to 21 (currently 4.21.0.0), the IoDrvGPIO driver ("GPIOs B+/Pi2") can no longer open any GPIO chip on a Raspberry Pi 5. Log output on login: Could not open GPIOChip0. Access to path /dev/gpiochip0 not allowed. Add /dev/gpiochip0 to permitted paths in configuration file if required Could not open GPIOChip4. Trying to open GPIOChip0 Access to path /dev/gpiochip4 not allowed. Add /dev/gpiochip4 to permitted paths in configuration file if required Could not open any GPIOChip. I'm going through the process of updating the CODESYS Project a machine to 3.5 SP21 (old version was 3.5 SP20). One function that stopped working when upgrading was SysProcessCreate. I need to run a .exe file that is located in C:\Program Files\MQTTStream. Some initial searching suggested that there are new security rules that prevent the SoftPLC from reading/writing files to outside of its Device folder (located here - C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\24FD6770) Relocating files helped fix my JSON file reader/writer functions (which were failing previously), but not the case for SysProcessCreate. I've even attempted to just run window's cmd.exe and with: pszCommandLine = 'cd /d C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\24FD6770\PlcLogic\MQTTStream & sift-proxy.exe --grpc_uri="https://grpc-api.siftstack.com" --api_key="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" mqtt-client --broker_ip=10.0.10.101 --broker_port=1883 --config_file="mqtt_telemetry_config.json" --username Plantd --password 1234 --stream_metrics --storage_path="sift-proxy-logs"' I have not been able to find a lot of documentation on this, and I suspect the new update may have created a bug for SysProcessCreate. We have a few different communications set up as shown below: One Modbus TCP Slave Connection - ( Sending / Receiving Data from a PC ) Two Modbus TCP Master Connection - ( Reading Data from a UPS Panel and Reading Data Gas Chromatograph) One Modbus RTU Slave Connection 485 - (Reading Data from a fire and gas panel) One Modbus RTU Master Connection 485 - (Sending Data to a Telemetry Unit) All Licenses have been installed as per OPTO22 suggestions of the order below: Modbus TCP Master Modbus TCP Slave Modbus RTU Master Modbus RTU Slave When I check on License manager the RTU Master license seems to disappear on installing the RTU. (What ever reason I’ve been told this is “normal”). If I use Device License Read It will successfully read all the licenses correctly. Now the issue is every 2 hours and between 4. For what ever reason the communications seems to end and lock up for about 20 seconds. During this time even if I was logged into the PLC it would kick me off and I’d have to re type the password to enter. Most of the devices can handle this however the RTU flags up a communications failure at the SCADA and is raising alarms every 2 hours and 4 mins. We’ve had multiple people go through the code to check for anything obvious. Does anyone have any ideas?

We have a few different communications set up as shown below: One Modbus TCP Slave Connection - ( Sending / Receiving Data from a PC ) Two Modbus TCP Master Connection - ( Reading Data from a UPS Panel and Reading Data Gas Chromatograph) One Modbus RTU Slave Connection 485 - (Reading Data from a fire and gas panel) One Modbus RTU Master Connection 485 - (Sending Data to a Telemetry Unit) All Licenses have been installed as per OPTO22 suggestions of the order below: Modbus TCP Master Modbus TCP Slave Modbus RTU Master Modbus RTU Slave When I check on License manager the RTU Master license seems to disappear on installing the RTU. (What ever reason I’ve been told this is “normal”). If I use Device License Read It will successfully read all the licenses correctly. Now the issue is every 2 hours and between 4. For what ever reason the communications seems to end and lock up for about 20 seconds. During this time even if I was logged into the PLC it would kick me off and I’d have to re type the password to enter. Most of the devices can handle this however the RTU flags up a communications failure at the SCADA and is raising alarms every 2 hours and 4 mins. We’ve had multiple people go through the code to check for anything obvious. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello, I am using Codesys sp20p3 and IIoT library 1.11. I am trying to test QoS 1 & 2 and I have some issues. I am using mosquitto as the broker. I am also using some other MQTT clients like Node-Red and TwinCAT. They all work as expected for every QoS levels. I only have issues with Codesys MQTT client. In the Codesys client, if I subscribe to a topic as QoS 1 or 2, and a client publishes to this topic, I receive the message. But if I disconnect the Codesys client from the network and a client publishes to the subscribed topic, when I reconnect Codesys client to the network, I don't receive the messages as expected. Also there does not seem to be an auto-reconnect feature. So I have to manually set the mqttClient.xEnable bit to FALSE then back to TRUE in order to reconnect to the broker, then I also have to set the subscribe.xEnable to FALSE and back to TRUE in order to re-subscribe to the topic, but even then, I don't receive the messages that were published while I was disconnected. What am I doing wrong? I set the cleanSession bit to FALSE and I give my client a clientID. With the TwinCAT MQTT Client, I do the same thing and everything works as expected. It even auto-reconnects to the broker. I would expect Codesys MQTT Client to be as reliable as TwinCAT. Maybe I am doing something wrong? I also noticed that when trying to publish a QoS 1 or 2 message while disconnected from the broker, it does not work. In TwinCAT, I am still able to publish. The messages are stored in the client and published once reconnected to the broker. I would expect to be able to do the same thing in Codesys. Is this all possible? Am I doing something wrong? This library would be very useful for IPC communications. Using a UDP socket on localhost is unpredictable, as with slightly loaded machines it does not even guarantee packet delivery locally. Using TCP creates a lot of overhead. Message named pipes would be an excellent solution for Windows RTE. On Linux, since the release of the extension package, there is no issue, as it is sufficient to develop a component. However, although now 90% of our clients understand that Linux runtimes are better in every way compared to Windows RTE, especially from the security aspect (Not in kernel space) and the issues with Windows updates, 10% stubbornly insist (sometimes for trivial commercial reasons) on using Windows. Managing IPC with circular buffers in shared memory is quite ugly, or rather really ugly and unaesthetic. In the manuals, I saw the SysPipeWindows libraries, so I decided to test them, but unfortunately, I noticed that they are not implemented for RTE devices. Technically, I could try to open them as regular files, but SysFileOpen returns 16#27 or 16#39 depending on how I set the name (direction of the slashes). Here is the code to create shared memory and named pipes.
