Hello, I'm currently working on transferring a project I recently created on Studio 5000 to CODESYS and unfortunately CODESYS isn't compatible with AOI's so I was wondering if there was anyone who could help me transfer these L5X AOI blocks to ST Function Blocks that I can import into CODESYS so I can use them for this project or if you know where I can find preexisting Function Blocks for these AOI's. yes and no ... if you run the license server on the host (to serve licenses to the docker instances / vplcs then there is no runtime which could check the licenses on the host. Therefore you need the CODESYS WBM to activate or check the licenes or you could use in CODESYS IDE the licensemanager ( not the one for the device licenses) but you have the the IP of the license server that he know where to search for the licenses ..tool options i guess to add it, will add a screenshot later.

I was trying to use subdevicesCollapsed attribute in device descriptor in order to not expand the subdevices when a new device with subdevices is inserted in the device tree. I use this as follows:<fixed subdevicescollapsed="true">. But it seems it doesn`t work. I am ussing Codesys v3.5 SP16 Patch4. Is anything wrong with this? Or am I mistaken with the use of this attirbute?</fixed>

When evaluating Codesys functionality, I found that the VPLC tab under Deploy Control SL > Operation > VPLCs is 'gray-ed out', see attached image. I'm trying to evaluate how my infrastructure will interact with Codesys on a Raspberry Pi 4, so I'm trying to demo running it. I was going through the Codesys tutorial here, and it never shows the tab as grey, so I do not know how to proceed. Let me know if I can get any additional information that can help.

Hello, I couldn't figure what/where the issue was, so I deleted everything from automation server and reinstalled the edge gateway and did the process again. It worked for about a month and then it stopped working again. It presents the same symptom, edge gateway is online but I can't connect to the PLC. Any idea of what could be the issue? Thank you!

Hello I am using FTP_CLIENT to donwnload/Upload a text or CSV file from FTP server. UpLoading from PLC to FTP server is working without any problem but when I try to download from FTP server I get an error. The FTP_CLIENT Block allows me to add URL but I do not where I can specify the direcory to save the downloaded file... is there anyone has an experience with downloading from FTP server using FTP_CLIENT block. I would like to read the ID without visualization or external code in python, only in PLC. I have some Symbols from the Visualization Toolbox on my Target Visu on the Computer. I tried many Symbols, mainly Arrows. I'm able to control the visibility with condition e.g. "GVL.actual_testvalues.speed <= 0" But I can't do "Toggle color" with boolean GVL.b_toggle_color. Neither "TRUE" nor "FALSE" does change anything. Is this a known issue? I'm using CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 5 + (64-bit). See attached file with more Version-Info. I'm currently using Style 6, Gradient axial 2, 3.5.12.0. I had the same issue with Default 3.5.16.0.

It is being worked on by many companies and its even-driven function blocks seem like a natural evolution of the object oriented industrial programming I have seen Gary Pratt (author of the Book of CODESYS and much more) so expertly implement and explain. I would expect CODESYS to have this front and center on their sights and, if they do not, I would be very interested in learning why.

I am trying to use ladder logic to be the anser to the button press using "VisuElems.CurrentVisu := 'MainScreen';. This returns an error. Any idea what I am doing wrong or could you point me in the right direction for fixing this. Thanks,

Hello, I tried using the CSV Utility SL Example from the CODESYS IIoT Libraries SL. No matter what path I try, I can not get the InitSave to work from CSVWRitersSTExample, line 2. It always gives the error 'CANNOT_OPEN_DIRECTORY'. I am running this on an Windows Azure VM, with Codesys Control Win V3 x64. I added a folder called 'temp' to my C: so that the default 'C:/temp' would work. However it gives CANNOT_OPEN_DIRECTORY. I tried updating to 'C:\temp' with the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same problem in that I can connect to the eWon and ping the controller IP Address, however I cant connect through CodeSys. I'm using Gateway-1 which is configured to use "IP-Address: localhost" and "Port: 1217". Rather than scanning the network for devices, I enter the IP Address of the device, codesys returns a "No Device is repsonding..." message. See attached. I'm wondering if the IP-Address used Gateway-1 should be "localhost" or the WAN/LAN IP of the eWon? Thanks for the help MC

When creating a new Codesys library, I am getting 2 errors for missing libraries. I can see that I am using newer versions of these in the library manager (3.5.17.0 and 3.5.19.0 opposed to 3.5.8.0 and 3.5.7.0 stated in the errors). IDE Version is V3.5 SP19 Patch 6. The "Download missing libraries..." button in Messages list is not doing anything. Why is it looking for older versions of these libraries? Can this be fixed by using the newer versions? How can I download & install the older version of these libraries?

I still have the same problem even when updating to CODESYS Recipes 4.3.0.0. My scenario: I'm trying to save/load an array of structs using the Visu: - Execute Command > "SaveRecipeAs" works properly - Execute Command > "LoadWriteRecipe" works not entirely: the structs of array[6] and array[7] should have been empty but were duplicates of array[4] and array[5]... the struct contains 26 variables and the array's length is 30.. Maybe there is a upper limit on recipe variable count?

I also tried the option to "Perform static analysis automatically after compilation" # get Project values myProject = projects.primary # Creates an active application app = myProject.active_application # build Application and run static code analysis app.generate_code() Could you please offer any insights into why this might be occurring?

Hi everyone, Had that problem before where I could not create another user but used the method just above and it worked great. My problem now is that I get this message when attempting to logon to the device: invalid user authentication on the target dev5, the new user created is pretty much a copy of the user 'Owner' except for the password. Any idea as to why I am always getting this "invalid user authetication on the target" message ? Using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 6 + (64 bit) Regards

okay, no ideas. So i made a new fresh image for the raspberry, so far,so good. Licensing the new image was no problem. And, after having trouble while read write files on the raspberry pi, i found the solution for these file operations with the Variable ForceIecFilePath in the CODESYSControl.cfg file. In your project you selected the "CODESYS Control Win V3" as device, but the device you want to connect to is a "CODESYS Control Win V3 x64". Those are not the same. If you double click on the device during the network scan, you will get information that these are not the same, but that you can change the type in your project to the x64 bit type. Another option is to "right-click" on the device in the device tree of your project and select "update device" then select the x64 type.

Good morning, mecke96. Exactly the same thing happens to me, although I have not done the part of executing a .py file. It only reads the temperature and the counter, but the other values are zero as in your image "no readings". I have tested the MPU6050 device on an Arduino and it works. Could you tell me if you solved it?

Hello, this error occured frequently over the past couple of weeks. I found out, when adding a webvisu, CODESYS added Visu libraries in the library manager. One of the libraries was the "VisuElemsAlarm" library. In my case it added this one with the version 4.3.0.0. However another library that also contained the "VisuElemsAlarm", used the "VisuElemsAlarm" with the version "4.4.0.0". After changing the Version "4.4.0.0" and uninstalling this version, the error has not occured anymore. Regards, carohe

Good morning. I'm working with a Weidmuller controller using Codesys. My project use OPC-UA to communicate an application in my pc with the controller. Yesterday, I installed the license of the controller and test it, and the communication works perfect. I use the communication with anonymous login, and works fine. But, hours later, the anonymous login don't work, and the controller only allows connection via OPC with username and password. Someone know why this happend? Thanks
