Hello I need some help understanding how to use Modbus RTU (COM port) in Codesys enviroment. I defined a Modbus Server device (slave) in device tree and added some channels to read from (function 3). Also I set trigering mode to Application. I have a POU in which I want to trigger each channel one after the other something like this (C code for better visualisation): for (int i = 0; i < channelsCount; i++) { triggerChannel(channelsArray[i]); // Start transmission while(channel.xBusy); // Wait for transmission to complete } I have found ModbusChannel function block documentation but examples are scarce. I don't understand how rising edge triggering works. What would be the best solution for achieving sequntial channel triggering? What is the common way to read multiple Modbus channels once every time a specified POU is executed?

Hello all, I have developed a custom I/O driver in CODESYS that communicates via a Unix Domain Socket. In my DeviceDescription.xml, I have set up the following: <scan supported="true"> <scanfbinstance fbname="IOScanDevice"> The goal is to allow the user to scan for connected I/O modules from the CODESYS GUI ("Scan for Devices") and automatically populate the device tree with detected submodules.</scanfbinstance></scan> The function block IOScanDevice is implemented in the driver library and added to the main device's FB instances. However, when I initiate the scan from the GUI, nothing appears to happen the function is not executed. Is there an example project or driver (open source or from CODESYS Forge) that demonstrates a working custom scan implementation?

Hi, Could you please send an print of your ethernet adapter info? Ip addr Subnet Mask Default Gateway Also, check if the gateway service is active in your windows. Win+R > services.msc > Look in the list CODESYS Control Win V3 x64 Gateway OR CODESYS Gateway V3 Hook up the M12 code D into the ETH port, supply the controller, it should apperars to you. Make sure when you try to connect with the controller, the target of your project has to match with the controller. Otherwise, click on the device in the devices tree > Communications Settings tab > Device > Options > And disable "Filter Network Scans by Target ID". Good luck.

Hi, How can i display targetvisualization in full screen on the target device? I installed Targetvisu For Linux SL 4.16.0.0 on target device which contains Raspberry PI 64bit PIXEL desktop. When i connect my PLC program to the remote targetvisu, the targetvisu displays for 60% horizontally. We contacted CODESYS and they said it is a bug. they had a workaround, and with the settings below added to the file /etc/codesysvisualization/CODESYSVisualizationTV.cfg, the targetvisualization display for 100%, but with the taskbar at the top. VisuClient.BestFit=1 ;VisuClient.ScaleTypeIsotropic=0 VisuClient.FillWholeBackground=1 [CmpTargetVisu] WindowPositionX=0 WindowPositionY=0 WindowSizeWidth=1280 WindowSizeHeight=800 WindowType=2 How can we let it display fullscreen without taskbar?

Which device do you use? Does this have persistent memory (e.g. NVRAM) available? Maybe first ask your PLC vendor about the possibilities and how they advice to use persistent variables? If you have no NVRAM available, CODESYS will store the variables in a file when the device gracefully shuts down. But on an abrupt power failure, this is not possible. If you have no NVRAM and you want to use persistent variables, then consider using a UPS. In this case when the power is lost, the UPS can keep the power on the PLC which then can gracefully shut down. Hello, I am fairly new to the codesys environment. Is there a reference chart that I can look at in order to write special character in a string? The Special characters that I need to inclue inside the string are as follows; Null Bell Carriage Return I have a TCP_Write command that I am sending to an external device. In order for that device to function properly it needs to see the string with the null and bell characters as the header, followed by the desired command, terminated with the carriage return. Any reference sheet or how to write this in the actual string would be greatly appreciated.

I have a problem which I have identified with a device-update from 4.14.0.0 to (4.15.0.0-4.17.0.0) where the newer versions will stop any local access to the internal web page with the browser responding "The requested URL requires authentication". Setting the device back to 4.14.0.0. the web page will respond. Access to web page through Automation server is possible also for the newer version, but not "local" access. Runtime (Codesys control for linux SL) is on 4.17.0.0. I have tried to manipulate settings for 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' '*' always; through nginx (normally a proxy_pass to localhost:8080). Also tested bypassing nginx by accessing 8080 directly with the same result.

Hallo, ich weiß nicht ob ich hier richtig bin und ob es überhaupt möglich ist ... Ich suche eine Möglichkeit ein Profinet Device mit Record Read und Write anzusprechen. Eigentlich brauche ich nur sehr wenige Kommandos um unser Device zu konfigurieren. Das bedeutet setzen der MAC Adresse und einer Seriennummer. Das würden wir gern aus einem C# Programm herus machen. Nun sind wir auf der Suche nach einer Bibliothek o.ä. . Da man es ja auch aus Codesys heraus machen, dachte ich mir, gibt es eventuell eine DLL o.ä. die man dafür nutzen könnte. Wie gesagt wir wollen keine Realtime Abfragen der zyklischen Daten sondern lediglich Record read/write. Hat da jemand einen helfenden Hinweis ? Schon mal vielen Dank im Voraus

Hi, I don't know if I'm in the right place or if it's even possible... I'm looking for a way to address a Profinet device with Record Read and Write from my own PC. I actually only need very few commands to configure our device. This means setting the MAC address and a serial number. We would like to do this from a C# program. Now we are looking for a library or something similar. Since you can do it from Codesys, I thought there might be a DLL or something similar that you could use for this. As I said, we don't want real-time queries of the cyclic data but only record read/write. Does anyone have any helpful hint? Thanks in advance

Moin, ich habe da ein Problem und komme einfach nicht weiter... Ich moechte eine Wago 750-8101 (mit Codesys V3) zu einem ModBus TCP Slave und einem Profinet slave machen. ModBus habe ich hinbekommen, Profinet bekomme ich einfach nicht hin. habt ihr das evtl. einen hilfreichen Tip fuer mich? Programmiert wird mit Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 2 Auf dem Zielsystem (PFC100) ist die Zielsystemversion 4.6.0.0 Das es nicht optimal ist PN und ModBus TCP auf einer Schnittstelle zu haben ist mir bewusst. Wollte aber erstmal ModBus und Profinet zum laufen bekommen bevor ich das Profinet auf die 2. Ethernet-Schnittstelle bringe. /etc/CODESYSControl_User.cfg [SysSocket] Adapter.0.Name="br0" Adapter.0.EnableSetIpAndMask=1 Adapter.1.Name="br1" Adapter.1.EnableSetIpAndMask=1 ist eingetragen. so sieht der Status fuer das PN-device aus. Hi, My problem is with raspberry pi 4 with 2 GB ram,. Install codesys is correct but runtime works only few seconds or I can connect with device few seconds. I can ping raspberry and in system info I can see " !!!! Warning: no runtime license - running in demo mode(~2 hours)" but it is 2 minutes after runtime. When I press Start runtime I have another few seconds when I can connect to raspberry. After this time I couldn't find device. Of course, reapet start runtime works every time on few second. Raspberry is new and works with fresh install raspberry os 32 bit. Where should I start looking for solve of my problem ?

Hello I have a problem with Codesys on Raspberry pi with Bullseye The device is not recognized as a Raspberry pi, as I get this error : ooops... this runtime was built for RASPBERRYPI. Hardware version or firmware version not supported! (-18, 0x00000BB8, 0xFFFFFFFB) I'm running Codesys on a compute module 4S with Raspbian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye), my kernel version is Linux 5.10.90-v7l+ Codesys version is the latest, released last week (4.11.0.0, CODESYS Control V3.5.19.61 for ARM-32Bit - build Feb 22 2024) I know it works on the same device if I use Raspbian 10 (Buster) with Linux 5.4.81-v7l+ kernel, but for some other reasons I have to use Bullseye. What can I do ?

Yes it had been the case I believe as I have seen that message regarding they were not the same. I had update the device though to match them and that still did not fix the problem. I gotta say I wanted to get out of that situation and attempted a lot of things and then I did two things at the same time that fixed my problem: Wiped the 64 bit version and installed the 32 bit version Installed latest SP20 I wish I knew which one of these actions fixed the problem but now I gotta catch up on this IDE learning; it's been quite a learning experience I have to say! Thank you very much for your time and advice; much appreciated!

Hello, CODESYS Control is running on my RevPi, and my system communicates over a CANbus with a master using the ConnectCan module (Slave - CANopen Device). The communication works perfectly fine so far. However, as soon as I call a Python script with "SysProcessExecuteCommand2" that creates a CSV file and executes without errors, the master does not adopt any changes to the Transmission Process Data Objects (TPDOs). I don't quite understand what one has to do with the other, and perhaps someone can help me with this. Here is my script call: SysProcess.SysProcessExecuteCommand2(pszCommand:='python /home/pi/test.py', pszStdOut:=sCMDOutput, udiStdOutLen:= SIZEOF(sCMDOutput), pResult := ADR(eResult)); Thank you in advance! This depends on what you want to achieve with installing the latest version and how you manage your projects and repositories. Maybe you also want to update your device (right click on it to update) or maybe your device is depending on certain versions of libraries (go to the library manager in your project and download the missing libraries). An option is also to first create a projectarchive of the current project you have before you install a new version of CODESYS. Then you can open this projectarchive in the new CODESYS version. Especially if you install the latest version of CODESYS in a Sandbox.

As far as I know, there is no other limitations than the 2 hours limit. The demo mode should be plenty enough for testing purposes. Regarding instances. In the device tree, 1 master = 1 instance, no matter how many slaves the master is communicating with. But it is also possible that your Codesys runtime act as a slave. In this case, each slave in the device tree is one instance. You can also use the license metric tool in the IDE. looks like you are running in a bug in the newest version 4.4.0 of the profinet library or the new library triggers a bug in your code. did you update your profinet device too? you could try to downgrade to an older version of the library. via library manager - placeholders, double click Profinet 4.4.0 in the library column and choose an older version.

I believe I have installed the correct device descriptions and library, in an attempt to use the MCP3008 in conjunction with RPI; when project runs the MCP3008 is unable to find the correct driver. Is there anything I'm missing? Very new to this so any help is apprecated!

It seems as though the browser element doesn't support this and we are trying to replicate an example using the ActivX element with no luck. What worked for me with this error was to go to Tools -> Update Raspberry Pi, select Install, and from the popup screen, there are options to change your installation (I changed it to single core, instead of multicore), and I was then able to connect to my Rpi 4.

I have created an EtherCAT slave code and fixed two slaves (IDs written in the 0xF050 object dictionary). The module IDs are 0x1 and 0x101, respectively. It can be scanned normally in TwinCAT, but when scanning in CODESYS, it reports an error. Why is this happening？text in the second pic means 'device cannot be found in repository'

Hi, I suppose that you are referring to the error code "SMC_FB_WASNT_CALLED_DURING_MOTION"? Starting of Softmotion version 4.15.0.0 the instance path of the function block that has not been called is logged into the device log. This might help you to identify why it has not been called.

Is it possible to somehow release the license so I could use it again. I have all information for the device and can provide it.
