So better using the code above and just set xShutdownTargetVisu to TRUE from the button. Works fine for me. To start the TargetVisu: From a cmd prompt. This will start the TargetVisu C:\Program Files\CODESYS\CODESYS Control RTE3>VisualClientController.exe --application=Application --flags=1 You can then place a .bat file on the desktop and put this inside: CD "C:\Program Files\CODESYS\CODESYS Control RTE3" VisualClientController.exe --application=Application --flags=1 exit Double clicking the .bat file will start the TargetVisu. You may need to replace the Application name by your own application name. Good to know: In the cmd above, if you replace --flags=1 by --flags=2, it will shutdown the TargetVisu.

Is it expected that in demo mode the runtime will automatically close sockets after some time or prevent stable Modbus TCP connections? I would like to confirm whether this behavior is normal when using ModbusFB in demo mode, or if I should continue troubleshooting the configuration. Additionally, I would like clarification regarding the “fieldbus instances” mentioned in CODESYS licensing options (for example, 2, 4, or 16 instances). What exactly is considered one fieldbus instance? Does one Modbus TCP Client block count as one instance? Does each active connection to a different device count separately? Hello, I am trying to connect to my PLC (IFM CR711S) via VPN(EWON COSY). I have been told to use Gateway SP14 or higher. I installed CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch4. In the Codesys Installer Software I can sleect "Set Gateway Service" and I do so for CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch4. I can start the Gateyay and select About and it shows: "CoDeSys Gateway V3 - x64 Version 3.5.20.40" (see attached) For compatibility reasons I have to run my PLC code in 3.5 SP11 and when I start I can first connect but then somehow the system restarts an older version of the Gateway only displaying: "CoDeSys Gateway V3" (see attached) I guess my question is how to run an old Cocesys Software with a new Gateway?

Hi! I was thinking of switching the OPC server config from "Symbol Configuration" to the "Communication manager" in the device tree. I Have a lot of arrays of structs that I have previously declared in the "Persistent Variable" object in the device tree. It seems as it is not supported to directly expose persistant variables to the OPC server like the "older" way of doing it in the symbol config. Is this correct? Do you recommend to just do it the old fashioned way, or should I edit the structure of the global variable list / persistant data / OPC server and set up the OPC server from the "Communication manager" object?

Hello everyone, I am currently working on reading data from energy analyzers using Modbus TCP and RTU (RS-485). In my previous software, I used the following method to add slave devices (i have attached the image) and configure registers: Add the Modbus slave device. Configure the communication parameters (baud rate, parity, etc.). Define the registers and their addresses for data retrieval. Now, I am trying to achieve the same in CODESYS 3.5, but I am not sure how to configure the Modbus master, add slave devices, and set up the registers properly. If anyone has experience with Modbus TCP/RTU setup in CODESYS 3.5, I would really appreciate your guidance! A step-by-step explanation or any references/tutorials would be extremely helpful.

If anybody finds this in the future, I managed to do it like this: scalingValue := EncoderPulseCountPerRev / ABS(AxisName.fScaleFactor); No need to use MC_ReadParameter as I am able to read this value directly from the axis object. Using an absolute value of the fScaleFactor is there in case the axis is set as inverted, in which case it would be a negative value. I was not able to figure out how to get EncoderPulseCountPerRev programatically, but since all my servos use an encoder with pulse count per revolution of 16#800000, the final equation looks like this: scalingValue := 16#800000 / ABS(AxisName.fScaleFactor);

I am trying to have these set to change the visualization to a specific screen which I have designed 8 of. I currently have "use CurrentVisu" enabled in the visualization manager. I also have input blocks with all of the buttons being directed to output blocks which I want to have as the switcher for the visualization. Picture is attached for what I have currently. This could be the wrong approach to this issue. Any help is much appreciated.

The problem arises when after too many online changes the area is full. Therefore no more boot project can be generated. Short-term remedy as described in the dialog: Clean and fresh download. This way the initial memory size will be "used" again After how many online changes did this error occur? There is no set limit on the number of online changes, but making too many changes could be a risk. br Simon

These instances are accessible at Root > Objects > DeviceSet > CODE[...] > Resources > Application > GlobalVars > OPC_UA_Symbols for created instances and at [...] > Programs > PLC_PRG for mapped instances. The object defined in the information model is accessible in UA Expert by the name I have defined in the information model (Manipulator) at Root > Objects > Manipulator. Hello, I am currently investigating the network behavior of CODESYS 3.5 (IDE + Gateway) in environments where the engineering workstation is connected to a very large /16 network. In such networks, the automatic device scan performed at IDE startup (and the manual “Scan Network” device discovery) can cause significant delays or freezes, due to the broadcast‑based discovery mechanism. After analyzing the traffic with Wireshark, I identified that the IDE uses the following UDP ports: 1740 – broadcast discovery 1741 – handshake / responses 1742 – fallback discovery 1743 – fallback handshake 22350 – additional runtime / gateway communication (WAGO, debug, extended discovery) To prevent the IDE from scanning the large /16 network, I tested blocking these ports in both directions (IN/OUT) on the network interface connected to the /16 segment (while keeping them open on the OT /24 network interface). Result: When UDP 1740, 1741, 1742 and 1743 are blocked on the IT interface, the IDE no longer sends any discovery traffic on that interface. The IDE still works normally on the OT interface (device discovery, online mode, download, etc.). Blocking port 22350 does not seem required to stop the scan, but I included it for completeness. My question: => Can you confirm that blocking UDP ports 1740, 1741, 1742, 1743 (and optionally 22350) on a specific network interface is a valid and supported way to completely disable the CODESYS IDE network scan on that interface (both at startup and during manual device discovery)? I am not trying to block communication with controllers on the OT network — only to prevent the IDE from scanning the large /16 IT network. Any confirmation or additional technical details about the discovery mechanism would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
