Hello all I am using an AxisGroup with the Gantry2 Kinematics to move a 2D-Gantry system. When creating the AxisGroup, the SoftMotion_PlanningTask is created automatically with a cycle time of 2 ms in my case. I realized that the maximum cycle time of this task can spike to very high values (up to 60 ms) at lower speeds of the motion, leading to synchronization issues and errors on the axes. The same behaviour - though not as drastic - can be observed with virtual axes too. Is this behaviour intended or to be expected? Can the cycle time or type of the SoftMotion_PlanningTask be changed to prevent these errors? Or is there another fix for this issue? I tried changing the cycle type to Freewheeling, which solved the synchronization issues, but caused an error on the AxisGroup after a while, reading SMC_CP_QUEUE_UNDERRUN. I have an application using CNC GCode interpolation, but I need to modify the GCode provided to the PLC based on certain parameters. I am currently attempting to modify the SMC_GeoInfo objects in the SMC_OutQueue using the code below. Note that all the other code is pretty standard and works fine, but when I add the below it errors. Some code here in order to read CNC file using SMC_ReadNCFile2 and provide to SMC_NCInterpreter pGeoInfo := SMC_GetObj(poq:=ADR(fbCncInterpreter.poqDataOut), n:=1); IF pGeoInfo <> 0 THEN giGeoInfo := pGeoInfo^; // Do some manipulation here, then update the queue at the same position MC_SetObj(poq:=ADR(fbCncInterpreter.poqDataOut) , n:=0 , pgi:=ADR(giGeoInfo) ); END_IF It throws an error when I get to the line giGeoInfo := pGeoInfo^; Error: EXCEPTION [AccessViolation] occured: App=[Sim.Device.Application], Task=[PathTask] How do I use SMC_GetObj and access the data? It creates a pointer with the value as shown in the photo, but all the dereferenced values say dereference of invalid pointer.

Thank you for your interest. Your answers are in line with what I knew, so at least it comforts me that I did not misinterpret the situation. However, I don't have an exact match as, for this project over the past few days I have: 1) I have gone back to leaving the various FBs of the motion always called, all of them, and in the state machine I use a boolean to activate the various useful Execute. (But in the future I want to go back and try the programming technique with which I wanted to develop this project); 2) For the occasional error: SMC_FB_WASNT_CALLED_DURING_MOTION perhaps it was due to the fact that I had set the Ethercat bus synchronism only at the CAN master level, but not at the level of individual drives. I have now also activated it for the individual drives and it does indeed seem to have been resolved, but having also adopted the programming technique mentioned in point 1), I cannot say whether this was the solution to the problem, or instead the previous point. Is there an error ‘regulator or start not set’ in the device log before the error ‘motion generating FB wasn't called for at least one cycle’? I can't answer that right now. By now the machine is running and I am no longer there, at this one. Also, I seem to remember that the 'fbeFBerror' drive structure (5-element array), does not cycle, BUT ONCE THE 5 EVENTS AFTER SWITCHING ON, IT DOES NOT UPDATE ANYMORE (but that's another issue), so diagnostics were not easy.

thank you, i tried your library and device description but i don't get analog values. Do i something wrong? i also got an library error at the I2C_BASE functionblock the calcCycleTime gave an variable size error, so i added thet conversion from ULINT_TO_UDINT.

I am using TargetVisu in my v3.5 sp20 p6 (64-bit) project. I see no control that will allow me to bind, edit, and display a LREAL variable. Am I missing a library? If it exists, why can't I see it?

Vijeo doesn't support TIME variables, so the easiest thing to do is convert to a STRING in your program, and use that variable. You could use TimeAsString:= TIME_TO_STRING(TimeVar) to get a string that looks like this: T#5h10m45s200ms

What version. 20.5 ? ive got also problems wiyth that version. Online change, it hangs itself after one hour. Then one project can problems. Ive change display with 21.0 . At home i turned on the 20.5 display. After 1 hour i goes to stop.
