Hey NicolaG_89, thanks for the tip. But I have seen in the developer tools of the Webclient that a multiple fetching of the image and script data occurs when changing frames (HTTP code 304 NOT Modified), although these are already in the clients cache, which leads to unnecessary loading of resources from the web server. This behavior can also be found if the option “Support client animations and overlay of native elements” is deactivated, but this does not lead to such long delays. I had already tested loading all Visu elements so that everything was fetched once before they could be used. But that didn't help either. To prevent this behavior (permanent fetching), I have used a different way of switching the Visu elements in the VisuDemo Project, which also uses HTML5 control elements. I implemented this with the visibility of entire Visu elements. As a result, it only has to be fetched once and does not have to be fetched again when reloading. But I am still unsure about this implementation if the scope of the visualization becomes larger, as the Codesys visualization documentation advises against using many invisible elements. You can jumper the hats Analog Outputs to Inputs and see it function on the Web Visualization. Very Cool! I spent quite a bit of time trying to find this solution so hopefully this update helps others. Hello! I am trying to compare 2 projects via the --compare CLI option. In the docs for the --compare option, it describes the usage as .\CODESYS.exe --compare "project path 1" "project path 2". I store my projects in WSL2 on my windows machine. Since CODESYS is happy to open those projects via a path like \\wsl.localhost\home\project.project. So, to compare, I use the command .\CODESYS.exe --compare "\\wsl.localhost\home\prog1.project" "\\wsl.localhost\home\prog2.project". This results in CODESYS just opening the project and starting, not comparing the two projects. No errors are thrown, and I know the paths are correct since I can open both independently in CODESYS, and I can compare them manually through the CODESYS UI. I have also tried moving my projects to the Windows 11 OS and still have the same issue. CODESYS opens the project and does not actually compare them. I am using CODESYS profile v3.5 sp20 patch 1. What is the correct way to compare 2 projects using the --compare CLI option?

The system will not allow me to "re-define" "val_type" however. Instead I must do the work-around of defining four different types with all fields individually defined. The benefit if I could extend the base item would be that Im (more) sure the structures are identical. In usage I can call in a specific type rather use the base type and assign which type. Usage by pointer/ref to log_data_base would also be easier.. (* Usage: *) log_data : log_data_int := (name, value etc.) (* Instead of: *) log_data : log_data_base := (name, value, val_type).. Is this possible to achieve in some way that I have missed?

Hi everyone, I'm working on a multilingual help system within a CODESYS visualization project and have run into a limitation with the current text list (.tlx) functionality. Right now, text list entries only support plain text, which makes it very difficult to format longer help texts in a readable way. For example, I’d like to: Use bold headers and larger font sizes for section titles Display variable names or keywords in italics Avoid having to split content into dozens of separate entries just to apply different styles This becomes especially unmanageable when supporting multiple languages — duplicating layout logic across languages is not scalable. Would it be possible to implement a Markdown text functionality for text list entries ? For example: #Header ##Sub-header 1.ordered 2.list 3.fun 4.times Alternatively, is there any existing workaround or planned feature that allows for styled text blocks without fragmenting the content? Hi, I am trying to create a project using a raspberry pi, I have added the modules for the Pi and MCP3008. I have encountered som errors that I don't know how to track down. 1. The GPIOs give preprocessor errors, but I read that this does not prevent compiling. This seems to be true. I can build the empty project with no errors. 2. After adding a SPI master and MCP3008, the preprocessor errors double, but seem similar and the project again builds with no errors. 3. So here's how: I manually installed the following packages: codemeter-lite_8.30.6885.501_amd64.deb codesyslicenseserver_licenseserver_4.18.0.0_all.deb codesyswbmbase_wbmbase_4.18.0.0_all.deb codesyswbmlicensing_wbmlicensing_4.18.0.0_all.deb Of course, the license server appeared immediately. Trying to install it again using Install in the Deploy tab, the same error appears. Of course, the information that such a server is already installed is also there. Configuring PLC, S_PLC, EDGE, and SAFE_TIMER_PROVIDER went smoothly, and basically everything works. I wrote a simple program for S_PLC. I'm loading the programs into PLC and S_PLC. When loading the program into S_PLC, a message appears stating that there is no connection to the S_PLC controller. Timeout error. Restart the controller, attempt to load, and see the above. After changing the cycle time for S_PLC to 50ms, the problem no longer occurs. My question, besides the difficulty of installation for a new user, is what causes the cycle time for S_PLC to be so long, and how can I fix it?

I am trying to generate a JSON payload populated with a value that updates for use with a telemetry system, the payload is to be published by MQTT. I have established the MQTT client and can publish a working JSON payload but I can't get the payload to update as the value (iValue) changes. I am using a timer to trigger the .SetValue function periodically, but the JSON will only give the value as it is when it is first initialized using xFirst IF statement. Any suggestions? Hello, I am currently testing redundancy using two UC20-M4000 controllers with CODESYS Control SL. The basic redundancy functionality (Active/Passive switching and failover) works, but I am experiencing problems when updating the application. Environment Controller: Weidmüller UC20-M4000 OS: u-OS Runtime: CODESYS Control SL 4.12.1.0-1 Redundancy link: dedicated Ethernet connection between the two controllers Time synchronization: NTP configured, time difference between controllers is about 1–2 seconds Current behavior Application synchronization When I download a modified application to PLC1 (Active controller), the application is not automatically copied to PLC2 (Passive controller). However, when I perform a path swap, the application download to PLC2 starts automatically. My expectation was that the Passive controller would automatically receive the updated application after downloading to the Active controller. Online change When performing an online change, redundancy is lost and the controllers switch to Standalone mode. Typical log messages include: RedundancySynchronize called Redundancy failover itself works correctly. The application boot project exists on both controllers (Application.app and Application.crc). Network interfaces are up and correctly configured. Question Is this behavior expected when updating the application in a redundant UC20-M4000 setup? Should the Passive PLC automatically receive the updated application, or is manual synchronization required? Any advice or recommended configuration for stable redundancy during online change and application download would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

ok, that's different than our issue then. We're using Schneider Electric M262 PLCs, and we've had it where certain web browsers cause the web server to only allow https connections, but it's not recoverable with a refresh. It usually requires a power cycle or even a full firmware flash. Your issue might have more to do with the timing. I don't know if it helps you, but we normally run our visu task at 200mS, with an update rate of 200mS. Seems to work. Hello, I program a function for an Ethernet/IP controller. I made a structure with input and output corresponding with the map of my controller for the function block. My problem is that I don't know how to do the link between the controller and my PLC (CC 100 from Wago). The addresses declare in Codesys are illogic, The first addresses are 12 and 13 then 7 then 4. How to do corresponding the addresses of the controller and the input / output structure ? IP adress ? Does I must create the all variables of controller with the controller adresses to use with the function block ? Thanks for your help. (I hope I'm clear, I'm not english)

Hello, I have a question: Once the command is being executed, is there a way to kill it again? As the called application is running in the background, the user can't close it but it shall be closed/terminated, commanded by codesys. I have tried with "SysProcessTerminate" but I guess this is not correct as the RTE crashes when this function is called. Thank you for an answer. Unfortunatelly, it doesn't work. The slave needs command byte as follows 0x22. It means expedited transfer where s-bit is not set, therefore data length is not specified. If I use segmented mode by CiA405.SDO_WRITE_DATA it produce command byte as follows 0x21 which is unfortunately supported by the slave and it returns with error 0x05040001 - SDO Abort Code -Client/server command specifier not valid or unknown. I can use CAN API low level to overcome this problem where it is possible to set 0x22 as a command byte, but than I can use user interface to set the communication probably, because I thing that machine expert uses library CiA405.SDO_WRITE for setting the slave. Or am I wrong?

I'd like to know if there is an option to add external txt file with ST code for creation of a function block and then use this file as a source file from which FB will be generated? For example, in TIA, there is an option add external source file to the project structure and then use option "Generate blocks from source". This would create a FB. Does Codesys have something similar? With SysCom23, opening the comport was as simple as providing the ComPort no. which returns the Handle as a DWORD. dwHandle:=SysComOpen(Port); But the new library is a bit different. It is asking for 2 input parameters to open the Com Port - Port Number and POINTER to RTS_IEC_RESULT IF hCom = 0 THEN hCom := SysComOpen(ComSettings.sPort, ADR(pResult)); How should I use the RTS_IEC_Result? In the ScriptingEngine documentation there seems to be an error (or missing information) in the ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer part ( https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/ScriptingEngine/ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer.html#ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer.ScriptIecLanguageObjectContainer ). The description of the function create_pou() doesn't specify the correct arguments requested, it only says create_pou(type: SpecialPouType) and a script using the documentation definition of the function will raise an error. I tried passing the function arguments similar to the ones specified for the create_dut() function and it seems to work fine: create_pou(name, PouType) , name : str UPDATE: The offline help has the correct definition IExtendedObject<IScriptObject> create_pou( string name, PouType type = PouType.FunctionBlock, Nullable<Guid> language = null, string return_type = null, string base_type = null, string interfaces = null )

I’m operating with CODESYS in a 64-bit configuration and the Test Manager at version 5.1.0.0, where I’m attempting to use project scripts from an earlier version. These scripts call for certain test drivers that are not present in my installation. It’s unclear whether the absence is due to the 64-bit system, an update in the test drivers, or if I need to enable or install additional elements. For instance, the loadproject(Codesys.Base) command is missing, but loadproject(testmanager.project) is available. The FileIO command for CODESYS isn’t accessible, yet the testmanager’s driver for it exists, as does the execuptscript command.

Post by alimans on OPC-UA Server, Symbol Set: Raise an error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ^{CODESYS Forge talk (Post)}
Hi everyone, I just created a very simple library without any code and, added it to my very simple project. after adding this library, I get an error when I try to open "Symbol Set" in "OPC UA Server" in "Communication Manager". Here is the code of my POU in the library: FUNCTION_BLOCK POU VAR eCommand : (CMD_NONE:=0, CMD_RESET:=-1) INT := CMD_NONE; END_VAR Attached is the error that I get. I also noticed that by removing the enumeration variable above (eCommand), I can open the "Symbol Set" again. Anybody has any idea why this error is raised and how could I use enumeration variables without error in "OPC UA Symbol Set"?
